Foxit PDF Creator Parameters? | Türküm...
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to AlijohNX's topic in Application Installs
CMD prompt, the Universal Extractor, the SFX Maker and the Foxit website reveal no switches. Nothing happens with /s , /S or /silent, so maybe it has no switches. I would suggest an AutoIt script, because I've seen it work with Foxit. Welcome to the forums. Edit: I hope they work for you, but I'm a bit doubtful. The foxit forums said there was no silent switch for the PDF Creator. Please, report with results. -
When the Users tab is in front of you, first thing you do is create a user, give it a name, set it to active and give it admin privileges. Then, in the same Users tab, move over to the right in the Autologin section. From the drop-down menu choose your user (the default is Administrator) and click the little box to autologin. Choose the number of times to autologin and enter your password below. That's all there is to it. As to saving changes, all you have to do is reload your Last Session.ini, the nLite process will be much shorter once everything is clicked, selected and tweaked. Enjoy

Yeah, understood. What interests me is the process of validation that takes place with the second CD. If there is a way to use a regular key, then you can completely bypass the second CD and create your own nLite CD w/ SATA included. Please provide answers for the other two questions in my previous post and attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini from nLite (can be found in Program Files\nLite\Presets or the root of your XP source folder on the HDD - the one you used for nLite). My question about XP validation was: After you work the second CD, you return the first and install XP, right? Do you have to validate Windows over internet/phone after it is installed? Cheers

Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
I can't answer the previous question, but about this one... If/when post-installing AHCI on XP, users are advised to make backup/image of valuable data for possible restore. They can revert to IDE if the process fails, but with risks (and, if possible, only once to make some changes). So, changing compatibilities in BIOS is really not recommended for everyday use. Hope that helps -
Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Welcome to MSFN, LittleRed. For future reference (and better chances of getting an answer), please post to the appropriate sections of the forums. Yes, nLite integrates service packs, provided you point it to the appropriate SP (it has to be the original package as downloaded from MS website), for e.g. WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe. Use this page with images for reference http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html . For e.g., if you want to integrate a SP, choose Service Pack (pic #4 in the guide). If you need to add SATA drivers, select Drivers and integrate them as TXT (text mode), while other drivers can be added as PnP. Enjoy -
Compaq Mini 110c RIS install BSOD After Install
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Jasonthejoker's topic in Unattended RIS Installation
nesperas, I'm afraid you don't give us much info to work with. For example, I found 111 models of Compaq Mini 110c on the HP website. Which model are we exactly talking about? SATA drivers may vary according to model. As for where to put the drivers, why not go through the topic again, as it contains code and ways of integrating drivers. Report back. Cheers -
Let me ask a question here: this is a HP OEM CD? Does the validation take place online or Windows is activated when first logon occurs? Can you please post screenshots of the contents of the 2 CDs so we can get to the bottom of this more easily? BTW, didn't you also have a post about trying to install SATA drivers through floppy? Of course, I could be mistaken
-
I've done that once. The default setting when you set it to FAT32 is to boot from HDD, right? That means I set the PC to boot from HDD, not USB. And it worked. It could be as simple as that.

Maybe imagex /compress maximum ?

This is something I found with search into post #42. Speaking of which, how did you integrate WMP11? Did you use the slipstreamer? Everything else is pretty much OK (what you've removed shouldn't affect iTunes).

Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
Can you find a way to post the exact BSOD for closer reference? Edit: Which also got me thinking: this topic is no different that the other two Fernando 1 works on. Is there any special reason why it shouldn't be sticky? Just a thought -
You don't need to press F6; you have an old motherboard that doesn't have SATA. You said it: you have IDE, so after you integrated the drivers into nLite (I hope as PnP), just let it finish; don't interrupt it with F6. That's all there is (hopefully) to it. Report back

RAID should be the one; check which folder has a file txtsetup.oem inside, that's your guy.

Is a post XP install of SATA drivers possible?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to outsounder's topic in Windows XP
If you do it that way, you will NOT get AHCI. Listen to these guys: 1.Download the file I've attached and double-click it. This will import info to the registry. 2. Go to Windows\System32\drivers and put iastor.sys there. 3. Restart 4. Go to BIOS and set AHCI instead of IDE, save changes and exit 5. When XP boots up, it will ask you for AHCI drivers; point to the folder where you keep the Intel SATA/AHCI drivers 6. That's it. Enjoy INTEL_AHCI.reg -
amnios's concern is that he needs to slipstream it and vLite it, but he doesn't feel confident about the slipstreaming part. See HERE for reference. So, what can we do to help him out?

Help required installing XP with SATA drivers
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to felixthadog's topic in Windows XP
See if you have files like these on the CD: WIN51 WIN51IP WIN51IP.SP1 WIN51IP.SP2 Edit: Oh, and welcome to the forums -
Here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/licensing/Licensing_Win_Apps_CustApp.aspx or maybe here: http://wmlicense.smdisp.net/licenserequest/ My guess is that, if it is a part of an SDK kit, it falls under the licensing agreement of the entire SDK. This is the google search I performed ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=KY6&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=Windows+Media+Player+OCX+eula&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= )

Well, the file shows you have removed some "pretty safe to remove" components. From what I have found on google on Vista x64 install size, you have already reduced about 2GB. If there are language packs/keyboard layouts present on the CD, and you are not using them, you could also remove those. Just remember to start with a new/fresh Vista source every time before you use vLite. Last Session.ini remembers the steps you used the previous time, which makes it easier for you. This is the MSFN link on how to integrate SP2 into your source http://www.msfn.org/...ws-vista-w-sp1/ Edit: sorry, you've already removed languages, I missed that
-
Upgrading to SP2 before using vLite will replace/upgrade many of the components that are already a part of Vista, so the size will not be that much bigger. The big issue for every user is what to remove, and the answer depends on the functionality that you want to keep, i.e. what you will use the OS for. Some people use it just for internet and music, so they remove plenty. That is why I advised you not to use other people's presets. So, go carefully through all the components and their descriptions. On the other hand, some people use vLite just to insert their serial key and make it unattended. There's nothing wrong in doing a few experiments in a virtual machine before you decide what fits you best. Last thing, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, which you will find in the root of your Vista folder, or in Program Files\vLite\Presets. It will give us a perspective on what you are doing, so more advices will follow.

Silent .NET Maker synthesized 20100118 - W2K/XP/2K3 x86
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to strel's topic in Application Installs
Be patient my friends, and do what I do: wait around for a new build -
Use a virtual machine for sure. Configure a virtual HDD to, let's say, 10GB of expanding storage and set it to boot from the ISO. This is very useful when you decide which components to remove, so you can test if everything is running fine before you do the real install on your PC. Burning a DVD will come as soon as you are satisfied with the results.
-
A few points from my behalf as well... 1. don't search for presets; they can only (maybe) bring you somewhat close to what you want. 2. The reduction in the ISO is due to the compression methods used in vLite, so you didn't get much space after install. 3. Most virtual machines can mount ISOs, so you don't have to install a special application for virtual CDs/DVDs.
