Well, integrating SP2 into a Vista CD is a bit more complicated than it was with XP. Here is the official guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335037%28WS.10%29.aspx So, copy your CD to a folder on your HDD, do the procedure and create an ISO (VISTA SP2). That will be your primary source for vLite, you can copy from there every time you wish to experiment and create your perfect vLited DVD. Install a Virtual Machine to test your projects and see if you are achieving the expected results. For anything else (specific questions), use the search function on the forum and post. Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Well, did you go through the Unattended guides and sections for installing applications? There are a few ways to install programs from your WinXP CD during/after Windows setup. That's another step for you to discover. Enjoy

How to access Administrator account from Welcome Screen?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to endritius's topic in Windows 7
Well, you asked for my answer, and here it is: Win7 is not my domain, and will not be until there is at least SP1 and broad-range or native coverage for hardware devices. So far, so good. As to your troubles, I got the answer to the other issue through Google search. Why not try it for yourself? Tip: I read that the Administrator account was disabled in Vista by default. It could be the same thing with Win7. Enjoy -
How to re enable Control Alt Delete x2 on XP?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to endritius's topic in Windows XP Media Center Edition
I don't think SP3 is the problem. I have XP Pro with SP3; I just used Log Off and the Classic Logon screen appeared as expected. Anyway, I think the answer to your question is here: http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/john-savills-windows-faqs/how-can-i-enable-disable-the-ctrl-alt-del-to-enter-logon-information-.aspx Check it out and report back -
[Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Application Add-Ons
Updated to latest version 12/03/2010 Rev.3316 by clsid -
Yes, it has been done on Win2k and XP, but I couldn't find any posts on Vista. The general conclusion is that you can remove IE, but you have to leave the core files, as they perform other functions as well. See member fdv's website http://www.vorck.com/windows/index.html on removing IE6 from Win2k and XP for reference.

Sure, no problem. Report back on your success or possible problems. Enjoy

Well, the best way to find corresponding drivers is probably your PC manufacturer's website. What are your specifications: sound card, OS (32 or 64-bit), current driver version?

I was out this night and accessed msfn.org (geek ) from my cell phone (Sony Ericsson K550i), which uses GPRS internet. Google converted the cached version of the site into a mobile-friendly version (I was told so by Google), but not very successfully. In the google-version I could not even log in, but somehow I succeeded by discarding it and returning to (typing in) the original MSFN page. So, are you considering, and what are the chances, of creating a version of msfn.org for mobile phones? Looking forward to your thoughts Edit: seems I have posted in the wrong place, but I won't delete it, because I don't want to create a mess. If you find it necessary, I'm sure you will take appropriate action.

Yes, once the files from the XP CD have been run once with nLite, you shouldn't use nLite on them again. A fresh source is considered a new copy of the XP CD on the HDD. You have to copy the files from the CD again on your HDD and work on them. The good thing is that your steps are written down in Last Session.ini, so you don't have to repeat everything from the start on the new source. Again, if you have separate folders for your drivers and/or add-ons, it will integrate them from the same place as before, because it is also written down in Last Session.ini.

Well, instead of installing XP on a USB, which may not get the expected results (as you already witnessed) on different PCs, why not get a Live CD to boot from? use google search and report back.

See pic #9 here http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html Choose a folder where you will extract the drivers that you need. After you click "Insert" in nLite, you get two options: Single Driver or Multiple Driver folder. Point it to that folder. All drivers can be integrated as PnP, except SATA drivers that you have to integrate individually (possibly last) as TXT (pic #11). For themes, look at pic #29 and #30. Now, welcome to the forums; these are issues that have already been discussed, so if you need more help, first use search on the forum. Enjoy

The error means that you are missing SATA/AHCI drivers, so the setup part cannot recognize your HDD and copy/install on it. Anyway, there is special part of the forum for installing Windows from USB Examine your PC model, use search and find out exactly which SATA drivers you need. Then, here you will find ways of inserting them on the USB so everything goes smooth. Enjoy

I actually searched all over the registry for the file names, but none of them come up, which drew me to the conclusion that caching of these files does not occur in the registry. Or... it happens with binary of hex codes. Edit: glad I got an answer; I was ready to ask for the topic to be closed.

Silent .NET Maker synthesized 20100118 - W2K/XP/2K3 x86
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to strel's topic in Application Installs
KB976569 is an update for .NET 2.0 SP2, KB976570 for .NET 3.0, so best results would be either to process .NET 2.0 or discard the update. -
@nigh, the solution I offered was for hanqialiong. As for you... according to the pic you posted, I'm hoping you didn't do the whole nLite procedure on the same CD source again for the second time, because that will mess up A LOT of things with the CD. After you do your tests, always start fresh. So, do this: If you have a source on the PC that hasn't been touched, open nLite, load any Last Session.ini and choose only Create a Bootable ISO. When the screen opens, take your time to look around all the options it offers. Report back

The old VIA Vinyl codec/driver chose the front panel of the case as default for using headphones, so anytime (on every restart) I plugged the headphones in the back, I had to enter the menu and uncheck the option. Worth a try.

Welcome aboard Nile, and thank you for the solution. Enjoy

Well, is the CD 32 or 64-bit? Does it have a I386 or AMD64 folder you can point nLite to? There have been reports of both success and failure with nLite-ing Recovery CDs. I suggest you use search on the forum and I'm sure you will arrive to some specific information.
-
That can only happen if you haven't chosen the option to Create a Bootable ISO at the very beginning of nLite procedure, visible in pic #4 of the same photo guide. Look at the bottom
-
Don't click next, click Create ISO in the middle-right part of the screen. Again, refer to pic #39 in my previous post. Enjoy

According to the official website http://support.euro....anConsent=False , your notebook uses Intel, not nVidia AHCI. BTW, welcome to the forums.

nLite - Dell Reinstall CD - Gaming Application
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to yellowsnow4free's topic in nLite
"Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" can be a bit tricky and I just leave it. That's probably why it's marked in red. It had something to do with messing up preview of JPEG photos as desktop backgrounds when removed. IMO, removing it is not worth the trouble. -
