  1. try a test message using the "contact us" link at the top of the page. Use "admin" from the drop down. Aloha, Hal
  2. It's not clear to me how to go about sending a PM. Can you direct me to the "How To's" of the forums. Hal
  3. Thanks, It's been 12 years since I touched anything HP. I was setting up a new computer for a friend. Somebody unloaded the turkey (hence the "t" in t45 <g>) on him. I'll give the links a try and report back. Hal
  4. This is an old t45 multi-function. There didn't seem to be separate options for the various functions, (as I recall) only a message to uninstall. I'll double check when I get over there. If it is as I recall, suggestions??
  5. Fingers and legs as well as brushing up the old rabbits foot and the strategically place rubber chicken behind the computer (most important part of the procedure) All worked as planned Mahalo Nui Loa, Hal
  6. Just wondering, What was with not being able to email the Administrator? Hal
  7. Well, no good deed goes unpunished I setup a new computer for a friend (at my place). And of course, I didn't have the HP t45 connected when I ran the install program for the drivers and attendant software. Sooooo, the install program locks up the computer and I have to do a hard reboot. now when I try to install the drivers/software with the printer connected, it says there is a previous install. Yes I tried removing from "add remove programs" and running the uninstall.exe from the HP directory. message says "Uninstall is corrupt or missing". Does anyone know how to get rid of this HP #!@*. Sure could use some help. Mahalo, Hal

  10. So, I'm running XPpro-sp3. Or at least I was My Sil 3114 sata raid controller died. Or there may be an intermittent problem with one of the drives. That's all just background. To the point, I imaged the striped array the day before I had the failure. So I have a current backup and I have another raid controller with HHDs. This controller is a 3ware though. So, of course restoring the image to this controller and array doesn't leave me with an operable system. Years ago, working with NT I dumped an IDE drive in a box with a similar scenario. Installed NT to that Drive and then proceeded to copy in the appropriate drivers to the array, and, wa la I had the system up and running from the array. Unfortunately, I do not recall the exact process. It seems to me that it involved renaming one of the driver files, but that is all I can recall. If someone cane direct me to step by step instructions for doing so in XP (assuming there may be some difference in the process between NT and XP). Any and all help appreciated. Mahalo Nui Loa, hal
  11. Hi there, I actually joined some time ago with a paid subscription. But somehow the system has lost all record of the account. due to expire 06/11/2010. All attempts to contact the admin here have failed with an (paraphrase) "invalid email Server" message. the email for the account is not the one for this free account. Didn't know where else to post, so sorry in advance.
