  1. Silly me, I thought you had tried them all with nLite. At this point, I'd suggest you PM Fernando and ask him to take a look next time he's here. Also, if there is any SUBSYS version, you should also add that here.If the device number is DEV_4394, then you can't use pretty much anything from the reg entries in post #6, since most refer to DEV_4380, and none to DEV_4394. Cheers

  3. 1. ALWAYS start with a fresh source. That will avoid some really unnecessary errors. 2. Good. Now, I don't know if you noticed in Fernando's packs, but there always has to be another file TXTSETUP.OEM in the folder with the other AHCI files. It doesn't get integrated, but it contains the info needed for a successful integration. If present in any driver, use it. Do you remember using it when you tried Fernando's modded drivers? The Last Session.ini looks ok as to the integration of the driver.

  6. There is a lot of content-specific information here, but yet, this being the nLite forum, let's just cover the standard questions: 1. Do you always start nLite with a fresh source (your Windows XP copied to your PC, manually or by nLite)?; 2. Do you integrate the AMD AHCI driver in TXT (text) mode? + which driver files are present in the folder (names, please); 3. Which system (OS) are you using when working with nLite?; 4. Can you please attach your Last Session.ini file (as written with large red letters at the top of this page)? It is located in the working folder with the source or in C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets
  7. Yes, there will be more than one problem if you delete driver.cab. I'd also agree it's a problem with the source. Are you using a CD, an .iso file...? Is it a retail, OEM version... There are two ways of copying the source to your PC: manually or let nLite do it. If you tried one way, try the other as well.
  8. I can smell a new sticky. nonnofabio, in accordance with this post http://www.msfn.org/board/forum-1/announcement-19-imageshack-blocking-users-from-certain-countries-dont-use-imageshack/ I'd like to ask you to consider hosting the images to another file server as well. Cheers
  9. If you follow the logic of the updates month per month and what replaces KB976325 for IE8, you will see that in the end you don't need any of the both; you only need http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=689c5496-56c4-48a6-9f3d-b5f5aaf3e566&displaylang=en which is the latest. As to why one would/wouldn't replace the other: even if -X- is wrong on one count, he is brave enough to maintain such a huge list, where mistakes are bound to happen. It is up to us to find those mistakes and help him correct them. At the same time, I never forget to point out that we are all volunteers here and do this in our own time. Anyway, after an install, go to Windows Update and see the result of what has/hasn't been integrated. On my PC it only shows what I've chosen not to add. Cheers
  10. Finally, some light. It seems that was exactly the problem. Due to a security update for CAPICOM (KB931906) I got from Windows Update, the file location of capicom.dll now is C:\Program Files\Microsoft CAPICOM 2.1.0.2\Lib\X86. After re-registering it, everything was fine, even after the error from post #11. Thank you and cheers [sOLVED]
  11. You can compare to this list here http://xdot.tk/updates.html However, bear in mind that these are the high-priority updates for XP. As to your second question, the answer should be YES, as long as you slipstream the appropriate Service Pack before that. Just don't add updates for IE8 and WMP11 if they haven't already been integrated. I've used that application for creating a True and a SVCPACK add-on for IE8 and both work great. Cheers
  12. As hag672 says but I guess he needs the components of this one C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322. Does it matter if it shows under Add/Remove Programs if it IS installed? Yet, there is an alternative. If the update does show, you can uninstall it, install .NET Framework 1.1.4.xxxx from an installer and see if that does the trick.I've added the topic to my watch list and am ready to jump in as soon as the slightest breakthrough is made. Not having any experience with this particular Update Pack makes it a little difficult. Cheers
  13. Read you loud and clear here I also know what you meant by that, but (just) a little fun doesn't hurt. Have a good one.
  14. I wish I could have this problem of yours
  15. Going through the KB articles http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976576 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982524 and comparing the individual files inside each update would solve the issue of superseding. Cheers
  16. There is a discussion about P67 and SATA drivers for SSD starting from this post and down to the end of the page. It is for XP and nLite, but I guess the principle is the same. Cheers
  17. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windows-activity-inspector http://trojan-killer.net/windows-activity-inspector-rogue-application-how-to-delete-windows-activity-inspector-scam/ http://www.remove-virus.net/windows-activity-inspector/ Google search seems to be throwing out plenty of hits. It goes without saying I can't verify if they are true, since I haven't had/seen the infection, but most of these sites are dated 16 May 2011.
  18. Just a few steps down from this sub-forum is a part called Application installs. Inside I found this but search is not limited to this. Google can also help you a lot. Cheers and welcome to MSFN
  19. Welcome to MSFN. You can't integrate hotfixes as .cab files; you need the original .exe files. Use this site to get them http://xdot.tk/updates.html Despite that, some applications will still not integrate, like rootsupdate.exe or IE8. For that (answering your 2nd and 3rd question as well) you can use addons. Check out the Application Add-ons sub-forum, my signature and RyanVM's forum. You can also create/use a batch file that nLite executes which will install applications from a location (the CD or your HDD) at first logon. The answers to your questions are already here, you just need to do a little reading. Cheers
  20. Sure, open the Run box and type winver If I were you, I'd do some searching in the MCE sub-forum. I faintly remember something about some files showing lower versions after MCE was upgraded to Service Pack 3, something like version 3.0 with SP2 / version 2.8 with SP3. I'm afraid you can't just double-click a file and hope for the best. If the .NET services are started and running after install, the application should be aware of the presence of .NET Framework on the system. You can have them both as install files, but only one on a running (live) system. But I'm pretty sure anyone, if installed, should do the trick. If in doubt, install v.4.5.
  21. Where is the Office2007 folder placed? For all my RunOnce installs I use the $OEM$ folder with separate sub-folders inside. I'm not really sure if not having autologon should affect the RunOnce process, since I normally use autologon or don't use a password for the other user name. The only other difference I see is that I use a .cmd, not a .bat file. So, make an $OEM$ folder, put the INSTALLER folder inside and try this CMD /R %SOURCE%$OEM$\INSTALLER\Install.bat OR make things simpler and just put installer.bat in the root without the folder and use cmd /R %source%installer.bat That's how I do it. Why would you change the Last Session.ini? If it's for the purpose of making changes to the RunOnce section, I'm afraid it's going to be a bit more complicated than that. You'll have to open your nLited CD/I386, find nlite.cm_ and copy it to C:\ Then, open Command Prompt and type (without the numbers, of course)1. cd c:\ <- hit Enter 2. expand nlite.cm_ nlite.cmd <- hit Enter Minimize Command Prompt. Inside the file (right-click -> Edit to open) you will find This is what you should modify. When you're done, save and close. Now you have to compress it again. In Command Prompt, typemakecab nlite.cmd nlitecm_ Copy it back in I386 and that should be it.
  22. What are you using to call the command? For example, in nLite (RunOnce section) one would have to enter cmd /R %SOURCE%INSTALLER\Install.bat Cheers
  23. That's really strange, because I also downloaded the link from post #7. That's how I was able to tell you the names of the files. No, just delete everything from the folder and copy the XP CD in the same folder again. Try the download from my post #7 again and please attach your Last Session.ini (post #10). You will still need to use SATA drivers, the only benefit being you can add them during install from a USB stick. You will also need to find the appropriate drivers for Windows 7, as the ones for XP won't work.
  24. The download link for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 is this http://download.microsoft.com/download/c/6/e/c6e88215-0178-4c6c-b5f3-158ff77b1f38/NetFx20SP2_x86.exe and the size is 23.8MB. I don't know why you would have any problems with MIME associations on a fresh install, especially since this is an .exe, not some .mp3 association that media players fight over. Try unpacking it in a folder (with 7-Zip, for example), run Setup.exe and see what happens. It's very possible that you have a corrupt download or a partially downloaded file. Cheers
