  1. So, the number of passwords that the non-average Joe uses is increasing, especially when every article about online security advises users to have different passwords for their e-mail, Facebook, forum and other types of accounts. Add your PC login (maybe even BIOS) and archive (.rar, .7z) passwords + the fact that a certain complexity is required (unlike the example iheartbieber), and you can really see that one of the better possible solutions would actually be a password manager. Apart from the ease of use of the GUI, it would be nice that this application has a back-up option for what is already stored in there, just in case you need a quick OS re-install and a quick import of that file (can that file be encrypted?). I also like the idea of remembering only one password for the use of that application, instead of writing them all down, as many people do. That's why I'd like to ask for your recommendations. Do I just go for Google's first choice, KeePass? I'm not adding links because I'd like to get them from you. If there are enough hits, I may even turn it into a poll. Cheers
  2. The package contains six. I just want to verify they were all in the folder and nLite took what was needed. As to the error log, it is common to attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, which you can find inside the folder with the XP files (what is referred to as source) or in C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets. I'd also like to verify that every time you start nLite, you use a fresh source, i.e. a new copy from the XP CD. Otherwise, you will get many errors.
  3. I don't understand. Download this http://www.mediafire...r35hqm3qffyphk9 Inside are the following files: - TXTSETUP.OEM - iaAHCI.cat - iaStor.cat - iaAHCI.inf - iaStor.inf - iaStor.sys Extract them to a simple location, example c:\drivers. Start nLite with a fresh copy of the XP CD and point nLite and integrate them in TXT mode. For info on TXT mode, look at this picture guide http://xdot.tk/nliteimages.html you need # 9-11.
  4. No, nLite will only recognize the one that was integrated last, meaning they will overwrite each other. Yes, you are; just get the Intel ICH7 driver and don't forget to add it in textmode (TXT), not PnP.That should solve all your problems. P.S. Another satisfied customer... Edit: please take a moment to read the forum rules http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules and be specific when you give titles to your topics. That way you will attract the attention of members with a specific specialty.
  5. Oh, but Intel does! If you look at the nLite sub-forum (where this should have been posted) http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/89-nlite/ you will find two sticky topics with Intel and nVidia drivers that have been optimised for use with nLite. You will still need to choose the correct one. The driver support page you provided does not help much, so this is what you do1. Either you download CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and look at the Mainboard tab for more info OR 2. Open Device Manager, find the SATA controllers and tell us which they are The ideal situation would be to do both, just to be on the safe side Welcome to MSFN
  6. From what I gather, save your .exe somewhere, copy gora's .exe in the folder and test it against whatever you want to throw at it. If you don't like it, all you have to do is undo the copy. As for copying everything into the Bin folder, I was also doing that yesterday and I noticed some of the versions in gora's version are of a date older than those already in my Bin folder, so I approved/cancelled one at a time.Edit: the story continues... all those files in my Bin folder had the same date: 04Dec2006, so I realized that was the date of compiling the installer.
  7. As discussed previously, try putting $OEM$ next to (not IN) I386. It has always worked for me, and I've used $$, $1 and $Docs\All users as folders inside $OEM$. Cheers
  8. I haven't visited the topic in quite some time, but somewhere in the last pages there should be a discussion on which updates are superseeded found it If not, just look at the screenshots on the page and you will see what other members used. Anyway, it looks to me like you're pretty much up to date for knowing these things Cheers
  9. If I'm not wrong (and I'd be only because I don't use it), Adobe DLM is a Firefox plug-in that enables you to download from the Adobe website. So yes, you can live without it, open your FB games, hell, you can even download from Adobe without it Cheers

  11. Here's something to help out with links, tips and tricks included in the posts Google can also be your big friend here
  12. Opening the home page http://www.msfn.org throws out a Board Message [#10CCS13] Conversion in process, regardless of whether I am logged in or not. After logging in, I checked for New Content, clicked the Forums tab and returned again by clicking the Frontpage tab at the top of the page, but still the same thing. I'm using Firefox 3.6.17 on Windows XP, but I checked it on IE8 and it's the same. I hope it's nothing serious (I also checked if xper was here at the moment) Cheers
  13. Sweet Didn't even know this existed. I thank you as I'm clicking Save.

  15. I wonder if XP problems can be solved with the hotfix (request) available HERE
  16. 1. Which last file? If you are thinking of the true add-on, then no. 2. You can check your updates for .NET 2.0 SP2 if you see this first post 3. No, you normally install the .NET Framework needed for your applications. 4. You probably misunderstood; .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 is a FULL package of .NET 2.0 with SP2 applied and packed, that's why it installs like a full installer. I strongly recommend this as it makes things so much easier. Another (huge) advantage of this package (or any true add-on) is that it is integrated into the CD, so you can install applications that need .NET 2.0 at T-13 and they will recognize it and work.
  17. This is the place to look http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/42-logonui-boot-screens/ Cheers
  18. Why do that when there are add-ons that will do the trick for sure? BTW, a lot of the errors in these logs are related to IE.The most obvious things in your Last Session.ini are: System Restore - don't remove it, it throws a lot of weird errors (personal experience) Rootsupd.exe - Cannot be integrated like this Sometimes hotfixes also throw errors if their name is different, like KB2345886-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe. If there are any IE8 updates here, do not add them in this section. You've also made a lot of changes to System services; I hope you know what you're doing. Out of Box Experience (OOBE) - use search for issues with Activation if OOBE is removed I don't know if it's the online translation, but I've never seen a line like this It should be more like . Please provide more info on the CD; is it some kind of OEM or Recovery CD?Cheers
  19. Well, I checked your Last Session.ini again, and, as I said, no sign of Adobe Reader add-on. As to the Components section, I have never used this update pack, but it is my understanding that these changes that don't work for you are pertinent to the components of the update pack. Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea if you posted a link to this topic there http://www.msfn.org/...date-pack-v451/ and asked nonno fabio to take a look, or even at RyanVM's forums if you are a member there. Since this Update Pack works both with nLite and RyanVM's Integrator, you may be asked to integrate it with RVMI, and then work on that with nLite. Cheers
  20. Absolutely no, doing everything in one go is the way to do it. Last Session.ini itself is so clean and minimal, that it should work right out of the box. It's probably why you are getting so little responses. I, for one, am absolutely clueless now. I will watch the topic in case I can jump in and give a hand. Edit: I was just comparing the contents of OnePiece's Update Pack to your Last Session.ini and it turns out .NET 1.1 SP1, as well as Adobe's Flash Player for IE (ActiveX), are already present inside the pack, so there should be no need to integrate/install them twice. As for Adobe Reader not being installed, how exactly did you add it to nLite, since I don't see an add-on. Cheers
  21. Updated to latest version 02/05/2011 Rev.3836 by clsid
  22. Looks OK, except for two things: 1. Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process - Don't do this, as users have reported bugs with nLite 2. System Restore - Disable it when it's installed, but do not remove it. Out of personal experience, I got a lot of weird errors when I removed it. Also, if you have Windows-KB89083O-v3.18.cab, then you don't need Windows-KB89083O-v3.17.cab; you can also find newer versions of Unlocker if you search. Cheers
  23. In general, downloading standalone files is dangerous and also not legal, since most of them are not redistributable, but parts of a larger package, such as Windows. Virus scanning is also highly recommended. Edit: the thing is I didn't find system32.dll on my PC or in the XP CD, so I'm wondering if such a thing really exists.
  24. Either it is, or it isn't. Did you download it from MSDN? This is an equivalent of using a product key of one version (say OEM) on a different version (say Retail). If you can get a download from MSDN, then you can also get a corresponding key for it. Please clarify this first, and then we can help you. Cheers
  25. Well, there are two ways: 1. Contact Microsoft with your proof of purchase 2. If it really is not genuine, buy a license Everything else is illegal and will not be tolerated/discussed here. Cheers
