  1. I actually still have it installed on my PC, but I replaced it with 7-Zip (for making add-ons) just because of that extra folder I had to create. Anyway, the add-on I had for cabtool puts the .exe in system32 AND creates a shortcut in the SendTo menu (quite handy, I must say). As for the reg entries... I did not know that. I'm starting to like it again Cheers
  2. This is the second time in 24 hours that I recommend this tool Cheers
  3. Yes, it is 1.6.0.52. I'd just extract it, copy/overwrite l3codecx.ax (from the QFE folder) 1.6.0.52 to system32 and register it with regsvr32 l3codecx.ax from the Run box in the Start menu. And it is rated as Critical, so it is a high-priority update http://www.microsoft...n/MS10-052.mspx
  4. Yep, same here (and I thought it was Sandboxie's fault). So, basically, a corrupted download and incorrect information in the title.
  5. ????? I just downloaded a copy of WinRAR, which I could have done from their website. What's silent about it?
  6. Or... look at this, where you just drag&drop the file Cheers
  7. Malwarebytes have released a new version 1.51 of Malwarebytes' Antimalware. This new version is a bit bigger (over 9MB and) a bit of a nagger, since it asks to be upgraded to the professional version and offers to start a trial. So, I've decided not to update it. If you still want it updated, download the add-on from my previous post. Then, unpack it and replace the .exe inside the SVCPACK folder. Make sure the new version .exe has the same name as the one in the SVCPACK folder before you replace it. Then, repack it (SVCPACK folder and ENTRIES_MBAM.ini) in .cab, .rar or .7z. The switches are still the same as far as I can see. Cheers
  8. Yep, you're probably right. I went through most of the first two pages of the search, and it seems it isn't exactly given as a proper solution, but other people have gone as far as to do this step, too. If I had to be Adam or Jamie, I'd call it "plausible" Cheers
  9. Topic revival: does framedyn.dll have anything to do with this? I had some problems with windows popping up "Framedyn.dll was not found...." whenever I tried to install some applications, so I decided to address it. I found a topic on the MS website, tried to fix it manually, but in the end solved it through a Fix It download and a restart. Anyway, that is the only big change I've done in the period since, and now Group Policy Editor works as it should. Cheers

  11. This could help you http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/12657-application-switches-contributions-only/ Did you try taskkill? Please report back
  12. It does support SB7xx, but a user in another topic reported it wasn't working for SB850 I can report 3.3.1540.13 works on SB750 if you install it on a live system, but I can't tell about CD integration. Anyway, download the 3.2.1548.37 drivers, open ahcix86.inf or TXTSETUP.OEM and compare the Hardware IDs to your controller (in Device Manager), especially DEV_438x or DEV_439x. If they match, you should be good to go. Cheers
  13. Could you say which applications? I'm guessing Skype and uTorrent... Maybe you could use Taskkill http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491009.aspx after the ones that start.
  14. So young... May you find consolation and peace.
  15. Follow-through: I finally opened the My Extras manager and realized the game (Backgammon) had been removed. I clicked to install it again and was prompted with an EULA http://www.easybitsmedia.com/LicenseAgreement?g=7FF10FD1D9E1467181402A0155363CB2 I especially like the parts where it says that any data they collect from my usage is no longer my privacy and can be redistributed to their personal liking. I'm not using this cr*p; in fact, I'm going to remove Skype and reinstall without the Extras option.
  16. I noticed it yesterday. After deleting the Desktop icon, which I was informed "will now be placed", I was informed it wanted access to Skype. I clicked Deny, but noticed that in the Tools/Extras menu I couldn't see my installed games anymore. I did find it in CCleaner in Tools/Uninstall and removed it. I'm just not sure what was removed. My anti-virus (Avast! Free 6.0.1125) hasn't complained so far.
  17. I'd say it really depends on which OS you will be using on the partition. If you're installing Win7 on a 20GB partition, I'm afraid you will need more. The system requirement is at least 15GB; take into consideration the pagefile, the programs you're going to install and the defragmentation minimum in percent, so I'd go for at least 30GB. However, other users might have more experience with dual booting. Cheers

  19. You can also add them from RunOnceEx. Start any update from Command Prompt with the /? switch and it will tell you which switches to use to make it silent or passive (i.e. unattended in any way). You can also extract the .msp files from the updates themselves and run them through Windows Installer, i.e. You need the switches in bold for the .msp files.Cheers
  20. Can you tell us which PDF maker you are using? Maybe it's something with Unicode support or font embedding?
  21. Yes, but it all depends what you are going to use it for. I shrink mine to about 350-380MB (install) and it takes up approximately 1GB, but I save a lot of the functions. Also, bear in mind the applications you would like to install and the pagefile. Seeing it's and SSD, it would be nice to have the pagefile on it. It would be useful for you to take a look at this http://www.msfn.org/...-some-programs/ Use the search function for "smallest" in the nLite forum and you'll find a lot of posts, among which Cheers
  22. Did you try cdob' advice That would be the lines in post #19 In case it doesn't work, try doing the same for 3.3.1540.13
  23. Updated to latest version 27/05/2011 Rev.3861 by clsid
  24. Even this version 3.3.1540.13 doesn't have DEV_4394 in TXTSETUP.OEM or ahcix86.inf.
  25. I'm pretty sure they were packed with NSIS, so try the /S switch. Cheers
