  1. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes; some of the packages inside are (as far as I know) .msi and/or .msp.
  2. If you are not using the CD to upgrade your Windows, you can remove "Manual Install and Upgrade"; removes about 40MB. Also, if you are integrating your own drivers, you can remove the old video drivers from the CD.
  3. I like it! It has a lot of little, but nice touches. I have a question and a suggestion, though: 1. How does the third backup option (7z SFX through DP) work? I noticed the result was an .exe. Do I just double-click it to install it? 2. I notice the program itself is in English and Russian. I used English, but a Russian word appeared (see attachment). I'm guessing it's probably something that slipped. Cheers
  4. I took some time and browsed through the comments; apart from a few not really tasteful statements about Chinese people, that's exactly what some of the people were talking about. My favourite was

  6. 3. Again, add this one and the other one to the Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs section ( http://win-x.site40.net/nliteimages.html pic #6). I've already told you this in the other post
  7. I'd already made the Intel driver http://www.mediafire.com/file/ys76x3u7la5s42o/INTEL_WIRELESS_ADDON.7z but I forgot to put the link here. Now for your answers: 1. Yes, every time before you start nLite, you have to copy the contents of your Windows CD to your PC for work. That's called "clean source". 2. If you want to. I'd delete the ones with dates and keep the latest, named "Last Session.ini" and "Last Session_u.ini". Import them to nLite and keep everything the same, apart for the drivers and information like users, passwords and product keys. 3. I don't understand this one; which SVCPACK folders?
  8. Well, I've never heard of someone using a WAU folder to modify Vista with vLite. And a WAU registry file is not the same as boot.wim and install.wim from the Vista install DVD, so no wonder vLite can't find what's needed. If you have a Vista DVD, why not just use that? Welcome to MSFN
  9. [#10145.1] The application '' does not support search Already logged in. I closed the tab and later reopened it from the bookmark http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=active&search_app=forums Using Firefox 3.6.16 on WinXP x86 SP3
  10. Welcome to MSFN. Feel free to take a look around and ask a question whenever you need it. Cheers
  11. 1. save it wherever you want; if you mean the original one, put it in the same folder with SNMSynth. 2. PROCESSDNF3535=YES is the one you need; the full .NET 3.5 SP1 package also contains .NET 2.0 SP2 and .NET 3.0. Choosing PROCESSDNF3520=YES will process .NET 2.0 from the .NET 3.5 package. PROCESSDNF11=YES and PROCESSDNF20=YES are not necessary. You can change the answers to NO, but if the install files are not present in the folder, SNMSynth will not process them anyway. 3. As far as I know, .NET 3.5 is already included by default in Vista and 7, so you only need it for XP. Therefore TARGETOS=XP 4. It really depends on what you need. Cheers Edit: please do not double-post.
  12. The best thing for you to do is to try it yourself in a Virtual Machine. For better results, I hope you are using the True .NET add-ons from Ryan VM's forums. That way I feel you will succeed, since there's no need to restart after install at T-13 (as it normally is for ordinary add-ons). Report back

  14. Yes, you are Especially taking into consideration all the steps people take to even remotely get close to what you did
  15. Did you see this and this or you are mostly interested in slimming down Windows 7?

  18. Look at this guide http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html pic #6. This is where you add the XP updates, but also the add-ons. Put the driver add-on I prepared inside that window and it will install the driver. For drivers that have an .inf file, use the screen on pic #9; have a folder Drivers and sub-folders for every driver you have. On screen #9, click Insert and choose Multiple driver folder. Also, there is a guide to nLite in this sticky http://www.msfn.org/...eference-guide/ (post #1), so try to find the information there before your next question. Edit: this is the Intel wireless driver made into an add-on http://www.mediafire.com/file/ys76x3u7la5s42o/INTEL_WIRELESS_ADDON.7z Add it to the screen from pic #6 Cheers
  19. There is an .inf file inside R105328, namely w70n501.inf inside the Drivers folder. However, this installs only the driver, and not the application that controls it. Again, there is an option to silently install the whole package (offered in the readme.txt file), which means this driver can also be made into an add-on. I'm afraid I can't do it at the moment, but it can be done.
  20. They will not integrate if you are using the original installer; you need to use an add-on. Here's a good website to get them http://www.winaddons.com/nlite-addons There are a few in my signature as well.Cheers
  21. Yes, and that's what the file does. However, add this one to the add-ons section and it will work just as well. Now, this is really important: When you copy your XP to a folder, it is called a (fresh) source. Every time you use nLite, you must have a fresh source (copy from the XP CD), or a lot of strange errors occur, like add-ons that fail. To remember what you have done previously, use/import the Last Session.ini file.
  22. xcobt, did you take a look at your other post? And how exactly did the add-ons not integrate? Was there an error pop-up? Did you use a fresh XP source every time with nLite?
  23. You don't really have to download the whole SDK to do this. Over at reboot.pro http://reboot.pro/13049/page__p__113919__hl__httpdisk__fromsearch__1#entry113919 they've presented an excellent way to remotely mount an ISO (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=71DEB800-C591-4F97-A900-BEA146E4FAE1&displaylang=en) through HTTPDisk and get just what you need at the moment.
  24. It really doesn't matter which drive you use for nLite and for the process, as long as you try to have a short path for the source, e.g. C:\XPCD. As far as I know, the Service Pack level also makes no difference; if it works on Win2000, it will work on XP as well. I'm running out of ideas here. Wait around for someone else to give a suggestion. Cheers
  25. OK, I've whipped up an add-on that will install at T-13. Mind you, I cannot test it since I don't have a Dell machine, but it's basically a silent (SFX) installer with the -S switch packed inside an add-on. Please report back. Size: 8.51MB MD5: 14f5a3f7984348b44d329684602f720f Location: HERE
