nLite cannot integrate Dell R171887 System Software
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to xcobt's topic in Application Add-Ons
Welcome to MSFN. I'm having problems finding the driver on the Dell website. Could you be more specific as to what the driver is for or provide an exact link? Edit: nevermind, I found it. It's an Install Shield installer, which means it's a bit more difficult to extract; but, the good news is that, according to the README file inside, you can install it silently with the -S switch. Cheers -
Did you read the edit in my previous post? Try reinstalling nLite, both the installer or the self-extracting archive. Get it here http://nliteos.com/download.html The culprit is obviously not .NET Framework, since nLite wouldn't start at all if that were the issue.

Well, I was thinking of Compatibility mode in case you were using Vista or 7. This hasn't been tested, but set it to Windows 2000 and see if it changes anything. You can always undo it. Report back. Edit: if it doesn't work, consider reinstalling nLite. Cheers
-
Well, that's strange. Do any pop-up messages appear? Which OS are you using it on? Have you tried running it in Compatibility mode and see what happens? Cheers
-
I see you're using Fernando's modded drivers, which should do the trick. Are you integrating them in TXT mode? Look at this page http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html pic #37; that's where you can set the Installer service to Automatic, although it is always set to Manual by default, meaning it will only start when needed. Edit: found this

Kels state of affairs
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Kelsenellenelvian's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
Sorry to hear of your loss Hang in there -
1. nLite uses the default, but you can set your own; 2. Untick Skip OOBE in the Unattended section; this is a per-user setting, but will also make the activation screen and other screens show up; 3. Enter the password in that same screen and it won't be required; 4. If they are missing, it means you opted for their removal; 5. Is there any special requirement for that driver, like a .NET Framework or similar? Cheers

The easiest way is to use the add-on maker All you need to do is find out the silent switch for the application and enter it in the blank field. The forum (or Google) search is your friend; also see here http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/12657-application-switches-contributions-only/ If you still can't find it, then ask here. When it's made, add it to nLite just like the XP updates and hotfixes. Cheers

Copy your modified taskmgr.exe to C:\ Then, open Command Prompt (Start->Run->write cmd->press Enter) and write makecab c:\taskmgr.exe c:\taskmgr.ex_ Then you can copy taskmgr.ex_ from C:\ to the CD. Use the Make bootable ISO option in nLite to create an ISO which you can test on a virtual machine (VirtualBox, VirtualPC). When you are happy with the results, you can burn that CD and use it.Cheers

Don't you have a separate folder with the Office files, like start /wait %Source%$OEM$\OfficeXP\SETUPPRO.exe TRANSFORMS=unattended.mst /qn
-
OK then, open the AUTORUN file and see what executable program it points to. That program is the one that starts the install when you insert the Office CD.

As to the CD, make an ISO image to your PC and use that as a source, so you don't damage the actual CD. Later, if it takes up space, you can always delete it. Please provide more info about the SP3 file; what is the size and the MD5/SHA1 check sum? Get this http://www.md5summer.org/md5v12011.zip and check the MD5 of the SP3 file you have. It should be: BB25707C919DD835A9D9706B5725AF58 IF you find a SHA-1 or CRC32 checker (any of the three will do), the numbers are the following: CRC32: C411A9DA SHA-1: C81472F7EEEA2ECA421E116CD4C03E2300EBFDE4
-
If it's not the CD, then it must be the SP3 file. Google for MD5, SHA1 or any kind of sum and compare them in sizes and sums. This is the site you should have it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en Cheers

I take back everything I said in post #2; after a fresh install of XP, none of them will install. I don't know how it worked the last time. The set of updates I use is always the same. @belivakov Sounds like something that could work. However, there are such among us that have deleted the update folders (including the ones in $hf_mig$), which basically means I cannot uninstall anything. Maybe reinstalling -> uninstalling will do the trick... Cheers

It's working now. If not, click the link in my signature and download the file nLiteimages.7z. They are the same, but named. Cheers

Welcome to MSFN. Are you sure you are using the right version? For example, a retail product key won't work on an OEM version. What kind of a CD do you have? Cheers

Welcome to MSFN. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a I'd recommend Service Pack 3, since support for SP2 has ended. If you look at this picture guide http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html choose Service Pack from pic #4, and point nLite to it in pic #5 Cheers
-
Yep, it looks just right. Now we've got that out of the way
-
No, the application will create the necessary entries in winnt.sif. Cheers

Did you come across this one? http://mupdf.com/ I haven't used it, but it claims to have 1.7 support and the (.zip) download is about 7.5MB. Cheers
