  1. I didn't give it to you for wireless, it was for Chipset drivers. So, open Device Manager, double-click the '?', go to the Details tab and copy the Hardware IDs. It will tell us what is missing, so you can install it. Yes, it saves a lot of time. If you don't like something, change it and it will be saved in the new Last Session.ini. Bear in mind that some Dell drivers will not install in a VM, especially if the hardware is not present. That is why I told you I can't test the add-ons I made, since I do not have a Dell PC. Cheers
  2. If vLite works anything like nLite, you should be able to integrate your AHCI driver into your install. I know it will work for Vista, but someone else will have to say how well it works for Win7. Cheers
  3. OK. These are the 64-bit drivers I extracted from the original package http://www.mediafire.com/file/ju6jl9fdme96sl1/IntelRapidStorage_9.6.0.1014_x64.7z Size: 240.49KB MD5: 9a867849dba57c973bcef99fe58bb90e You can just put them on a USB stick and add them when setup asks for them (first few screens). If you want, you can do a bit of searching and learn how to integrate them into your setup. BTW, which method did you use for trimming your Win7? Cheers
  4. According to the model of your laptop on the SONY website, the SATA is actually a SATA AHCI driver http://esupport.sony...d=5978&os_id=45 although the site says this model (in the US) usually comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, so the driver is probably 64-bit as well. What about your Ultimate version? Cheers
  5. You could get CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html The third tab Mainboard gives info about the Motherboard. Cheers
  6. ROOTS_UPDATE_ADDON.7z (for Internet Explorer) is an older version that I created (also) by request a few months ago, so the newer version will surely show up in Windows Update. R138226.exe is offered as Intel Mobile Chipset on Dell's site. Do you know which chipset you have? Anyway, you can get a much smaller download containing the same files here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Cheers
  7. R138226.exe is the Intel Chipset Installer that you can download from the Intel website and it supports silent switches, so I wouldn't be bothered with that too much. R114200.exe (Conexant modem) is OK, as long as you extract it and add it to the drivers section in nLite (not the add-ons). These are the links to the add-ons for Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Controller - R116105 http://www.mediafire.com/file/pijbz1i4h6v3z8f/DELL_DRIVER_ADDON_R116105.7z QuickSet - R165094 http://www.mediafire.com/file/z129y15k91tugrj/DELL_DRIVER_ADDON_R165094.7z Add them to the Add-ons section in nLite, just like the other two. Cheers
  8. I feel I should answer, since I created that add-on just for you. Do what -X- says. I've already answered this twice in two of your topics. Cheers
  9. Which method of creation did you use? Can you post a log? Are you using a SATA/RAID driver? Otherwise, it could be a serious hardware issue. Please post more info. Cheers
  10. There are a few add-ons, like this one http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7746&highlight=net or even better, this true add-on http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8316&highlight=net+framework that integrates into the install disk and works with nLite. Cheers

    Error Logging on

To begin with, the latest version of nLite is 1.4.9.1, and you are using a release candidate of v.1.0. I don't even recognize some of the lines inside the file. So download the latest version for next time Otherwise, I don't understand why you are using XP with SP1, and not integrating SP3. I didn't see entries that would be related to you not being able to log in. On the contrary, Autologon is enabled. If you've created a user, can you login with the Administrator account? Welcome to MSFN
  12. True. I saw that too, and don't remember how I forgot to mention it. Cheers
  13. May I ask what you use to burn the DVDs? For best reliability, I always use ImgBurn, which is free, has the option to burn ISO to CD/DVD and the resulting CD/DVD is always bootable (this is not an advertisement, many members here sincerely recommend it as well, I just took their advice). As to your question, as far as I know, that is the last version of MINGW mkisofs.exe, but on the other hand, I never bothered to search anymore. I did what jaclaz suggests in post #8 and got the identical result on the mkisofs.exe version. Cheers
  14. The session file looks OK on first glance. I've removed much more than you and got it working. You could redo the driver backup with DriverMax and not include Microsoft drivers, only the machine-specific ones. They are the ones nLite needs for your PC, as the others are already on the XP CD. If you know that your SATA drivers integrated fine, then you'll be fine. This time, create an ISO with Mkisofs and test it in a virtual machine to make sure all goes well. Also, do not rename the updates and hotfixes, as the order is not relevant; nLite will not replace a newer file version with an older one. If you don't have Windows Media Player 11 integrated, then use the forum search and find a post by -X- on which Windows Media updates to integrate. Report back. Cheers
  15. I haven't worked with Win2000 for over 6 years, but is it possible to check how much power is assigned to USB, like through Device Manager or Group Policy Editor? Just an idea. Also, have you checked the file system (probably FAT32) is OK? Cheers
  16. According to the Flagfox add-on for Firefox (based on IP address), it's hosted in Dallas, Texas. This only means the rules are even more strict. P.S. A very good review on the McAfee Site Advisor as well http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/www.msfn.org Cheers

  18. @submix8c http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8168&highlight=microsoft+security+essentials @ -X- Yes, this will hopefully be the last change
  19. Updated to latest version 26/04/2011 Rev.3828 by clsid
  20. It looks fine, although you shouldn't remove Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) if you are planning on using Windows Update, for example. Look at this sticky on what is or isn't OK to remove to keep certain functions.
  21. Once nLite has finished work and you have a slimmed XP, you can't work on it again with nLite. You have to start with a new copy (source) every time. I don't think there is such an option. It would be a good idea to disable those system services you are not using. Look at pic #12 here http://win-x.site40....liteimages.html I don't remember the exact name of the option, but if you hover your mouse over them, they give an explanation. There is an option in Multimedia that you should NOT remove to keep the ability for wallpaper (maybe Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?) Cheers
  22. Are you sure this is the latest Last Session.ini file? You have selected to remove components, but nothing is actually removed. Have you run nLite more than once on the same XP source? You should also check your BIOS to see if USB is enabled. The fact you are using nLite on Windows 7 can also cause unpredictable problems, as some users have reported. Edit: I missed VMWare; have you installed all the appropriate drivers in VMWare? Cheers
  23. Related to jaclaz's post, I can confirm I always use mkisofs as ISO builder and it has never failed me. For an updated version of mkisofs.exe, please refer to this topic I started about a year ago, where jaclaz (again) saved the day. Just replace mkisofs.exe in C:\Program files\nLite. It really isn't that difficult to build a bootable DVD; in fact, I've ONLY used DVDs for my installs. http://www.msfn.org/...__1#entry918606
