  1. I use Firefox and can go to sites that used to infest my PC with spyware and tons of crap. Result? Spyware Amount: 0
  2. Use Opera or Firefox web browser! IE sucks!
  3. http://fcwbackyardwrestling.blogspot.com/ Nothing special, just a start of something that tells about the Backyard Wrestling that me and my friends are doing.
  4. This isn't funny anymore...lol
  5. This must be exciting. Shoes. AviSynth or VirtualDub? *Snickers*
  6. LMFAO!!!!!! #1 once and a while... #7 only go ape-s.... with that maybe one day a month, lol. #8 I recommend playing Sims to calm that down. Make DirectX kids and DirectX them through DirectX life. lol
  7. ROTMFFLMMFAO!!!!!!!!!! Don't use anything from M$. MPEG-2 decoder: Right Here. Also, Media Player Classic Enjoy.
  8. Go to www.videohelp.com. It is the very best audio/video webpage on the net. Programs, user opinions, forums, guides, polls, etc. Enjoy!
  9. That's not sad. Everyone has different preferences. I'm mainly into video enhancing, editing and encoding, but I LOVE having a slim, clean Windows. That's why I use nLite. nLitr turns Windows into a "not so much of a command line" Linux. My WINDOWS folder filesize is 288 MBs. Anyway, I also use it to play music throughout each day of my not very social life. I do essays and stuff on it too. That's about it.
  10. The BEST program I have found (trust me, I have used a lot of them) is East-Tec Eraser. It auto-detects your browser and all folders where all history/temp/whatever is stored at and it will "erase" it depending on the erasure setting you have. I prefer the DoD Standard + an extra random pass for spice. East-Tec Eraser 2005 (Newest version, updates a few days ago!) I use it to erase system tracks (even the Event Log!!!), INternet Tracks and of course any file that I desire to have erased, not "deleted" as the only true way of getting rid of a file is to overwrite it, and files are recoverable up to 35 levels of overwrites, but only by hardware. The method I mentioned above is an 8-pass method and does prevent hardware recovery. Very efficient. ETE accesses the Recycle Bin as well. That's why I never have files bypass the RB. I always throw them in the Bin and then erase them. Anyway, it will erase the index.dat files upon reboot as well. Enjoy! Cheers, Jeremy PS: And don't use IE...use Firefox or Opera. Soooooooo much better and secure.
  11. Uh, HELLooooooo!!! WMP alternative Media Player Classic (Doesn't install, just runs) Services.msc alternative Serviwin (Doesn't need to be installed, just ran) MSN alternative Trillian v3.0
  12. nLite your PC. Use Firefox or Opera Don't open bogus e-mail Don't use Kazaa. Don't get in a fight with a hacker on IRC. USE COMMON SENSE Do/Don't do these and you're all set.
  13. How do I change my user account name and password through the command prompt? "net user something something"? lol
  14. I don't like VideoLAN because it takes a quarter of a second to pause/resume video and I like MPC better because of its built-in AC3 decoder. Blackbull, what specific codecs do you have installed that allow MPC to stream media from the web?
  15. I think you need certain codecs installed. Maybe the WMP10 codecs? BlackBull, what do you have installed that allows you to do this?
  16. You don't have to install tweak programs to close connections between folders, just edit the registry. The key is knowing how to do it, lol.
  17. Incroyable HULK, yes like The Men In Black 2 last scene I think it is. The locker and the bag of marbles each with a galaxy in it. And it takes imagination to come up with The Matrix. It isn't just a bunch of made up stuff, it's a lot to do with philosophy as well. The creators and pure creative geniuses. To deny this takes ignorance. Cheers, Jeremy

    ALT-CTRL-DEL

I meant a sort of a workaround, since I like Classic Logon.

    ALT-CTRL-DEL

Everytime I press A-C-D, a "Windows Security" box pops up with 6 options and it takes over the screen until I click something. I only want to see the Task Manager when I do this, so how can I fix this?
  20. Also, you could go over to the nLite forum and remove 98% of the bloat currently captured from within the program. The 2% will be the stuff you actually need. You know that Event Log Service? Not even on my system...well...except for a crapload of leftover reg that Nuhi missed. I wonder what he's doing for v1.0. Anyways, defrag, check start-up stuff, disable Services, Bud4wiser made an excellent point. I'm tired. Cheers, Jeremy
  21. Geez, such curiosity. You must be one of those people who _FREAK OUT_ if someone asks you if they can go on your PC for 5 minutes, LOL. It will be ooookaaayyyy.... Just playing around, no offense intended. I personally like it to be just "Windows XP", as the only difference between Home and Pro anyway is registy settings. One guy once told me he made Home into Pro by editing the registry. Cheers, Jeremy
  22. Argh, you people... "I have a slow down!" so it MUST be a VIRUS.... DO NOT use msconfig for Service configuration, use SERVICES.MSC. If you have a home network, the only Services you need active are Server, Workstation and Computer Browser. Network Connections, Remote Access this and that can be disabled. Core services are RPC, Event Log (if you don't use nLite that is ), DHCP (for most high speed connections), Plug and Play and Windows Audio. The rest you can pretty much disable except for the odd few that you may need for whatever different software you may use. Take 20 minutes of your day and mess around. No service disabled will lock you out or give you BSOD. Good luck and it Norton's Services will screw you over as well. Don't use such crappy bloat. Use Kaspersky or NOD32 or SOMETHING ELSE! *Wonders where that AV thread on MSFN went to that listed the top 100 software out there and what the highest ones were. Kaspersky removed 99.8% of 70,000 phony viruses on a test machine. So..use other software, not bloat. Cheers, Jeremy
  23. I think its ugly. Windows Classic doesn't really have eye candy, especially once I use nLite on it. I could never not use nLite.
  24. Evidently, searching is a lost art.link to thread No, I don't mean any offense, but when large amounts of text typed up over time, are simply skipped over, it gets on your nerves.... I've been awake for 20 hours. IN that 20 hours, I beat Doom 3 and went through the whole season of PS2's WWE Smackdown VS Raw's Season Mode with a man I primarily use for submissions matches and did some backyard wrestling in the snow at a local park with some buddies, tried to backflip off a bench and smashed my knee on ice, causing quite a severe amount of pain and now I can't walk properly....so my point is...I'm a bit lazy to search at this moment in time. But I'm so tired I managed to LMAO at "a lost art" bit you said...hahahaha....ohhh boy I need sleep.
