Not counting pagefile etc i would guess ~1.5GB.My x86 usable(not extreme) is around 1GB but since x64 takes more space then 1.5GB i guess.

My guess is that Fujitsu-Siemens replaced some files needed for direct(clean) installation and thatswhy it fails.

No luck.Didnt remove WinSxS but error still there.Gonna try event log

Big thanks for answers .I guess ill have to see how big of a problem missing Visual C++ is gonna be.Im trying to create a build for running 3dmarks only.01,03 3dmarks install fine but 05,06 & Vantage need Visual C++ to install as a part of their installation process.They install even if this fails but im unsure if they will run.I tested in virtual machine last night. Would s**k if i would have to leave WinSxS in for such a small thing .especially considering its size.Had to keep .NET too because ATI Catalyst needs it.

Hi.Created a Extreme build where almost all possible things are removed but ran into a small snag . When trying to install .NET v.3.5 it fails without no error message.Visual C++ 2005 redistributable install fails with error code 1935.I did some investigation and it seems 2 reasons could be responsible: Event Log removal WinSxS removal Any ideas?. You cant vlite 64bit version on a 32bit system.Meaning you can do some things but not hotfix integrations,service pack integrations,language pack integration and component removals.

Vanilla?...mmm - maybe.Id say 2cores 2GB will do fine. vLited?...1core 1GB is good.I run vlited on 2core 2GB and fairly good GPU:8800GTS

Well its possible but i dont think you like what comes out of this little experiment.Its possible to force install on 256MB machines trough vlite tweak.The culprit in this case will be CPU speed(800Mhz single core reccommended at least) and graphics...2MB is not enough even for classic.Besides finding drivers to back it all up...hell i say.Good youre not gonna try this.

Yep id say it does.Not as much as on the laptop but it helps.Notably vlited vista logs on quicker and boots/shuts down quicker.Ofcourse uses less RAM and CPU cycles.Havent noticed much difference in copy speed.Games seem to be running a bit better too so its all good

I think he meant primarily DHCP and other services needed to successfully create a network connection.I mean-whats the use of WiFi when you cant make an internet connection .This goes primarily for home PC-s ofcourse

First id like to thank you for your intrest Unfortunately i have no plans to support custom OEM versions of Vista with this tutorial.There are just too many and they change often.Its the same as vLite...only applies to and is promised to work with clean vista image. The unmounting time also depends and the size of the changes.Say you change 2.5GB of content by adding/deleting one file.It will then take longer to unmount then in another way when you changed 4000 files that are 50mb in size.Just be patient and make sure you did all the nessessary steps as shahed described.

Now this might seem as an unimportant request but thers this one thing thats been bugging me for ages. Could vLite remember the folder i selected?.Say i have the vista installation files always in a specific folder and when selecting the edition vLite would go to my folder.Same with Hotfixes,drivers and language packs.Just doing many builds a day it gets tiresome navigating to specific folder every time :S Please advise.Do you think its needed or is it unimportant in your opinion?.

Odd.In Vista x86 SP1 with Help removed Net 3.5 installs fine.Must be a server 2008 issue.

Specify the file you tried to integrate.Language pack?.Service pack?.Extension?.

WMP11 supports skins.I think i even spotted a skin that resebles WMP10.

Its not your fault.This is what happens when you integrate Beta drivers or drivers with modified .inf-s.There is a way around it but its pretty technical.For now i suggest you use WHQL certified drivers.

You cant possibly be asking Nuhi to remake vLite to support every half-baked OEM image? .Cus thats just plain silly and unthinkable . vLite is for Clean images only.Nuhi cant be held resposible if vLite doesent work with custom OEM images .

Solution is simple: Remove the languages and rest easy...you have removed lot of unnessesary stuff. In Windows Update separately rightclick on the languages and select Hide Update.The language will not be shown to you again when you check for updates.

No issue for me.I have wimgapi.dll packed into a selfextracting archive that automatically puts it into /Program Files/vLite .Just funny that ppl think they need a honkin 1GB WAIK to use vLite .I use WAIK too so double fun 4 me .
