SP1 integrated(image from MS)

One of the following updates is causing this: Tried the ISO without updates in VPC.Everything worked ok.Integrated all of these updates and boom...after install text appears...interactive logon process failed and vista restarts in VPC and starts an infinite loop: installing updates:stage 3/3 97%-100% done - restart - and so on... Anyone can make a guess what update may cause this?

KB937287 is already included in SP1 and there is no need to integrate it separately(assuming you are using SP1).

You have to start vLite under -Extreme switch to see those listed. EDIT:hannubys beat me to it hehe

Manually copy files from DVD to HDD and then point vLite to files.

One of the new Ultimate Extras relesed days ago is causing some problems for me.Its the Extra with the new soundschemes:Glass and Pearl. Anyway.Problem is that when i select to integrate it then vLite gives me and error.I will specify the error later once i get home.I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the .cab file does not follow the general MS CAB structure( i can integrate Online Key Backup,Dreamscene and Bitlocker cab files just fine)

thats true mate.Every conponent that you remove increases the risk of SP install will fail.If you know you are going to install a service pack to vLited Vista then do not remove anything.Better yet...get a Vista image with SP1 pre-integrated and remove what you want or use the vLite slipstream tab to slipstream SP1(still kinda buggy tho...).This was a big problem 3-4 months ago when SP1 was in Beta/RC.But given the options available today its a pseudo-problem.

I havent found out yet what file is used as the background there and modifying all the .BMP and .dll files on both windows and boot image have had no success.You might wanna keep an eye out on my guide in this forum incase i(or someone else) finds a way to modify it. You need modify this file in Windows system32 ,In the source folder ,and support folder and Boot.wim,as well modify spwizimg.dll. i succeded, nice background, but dont know how to modify imageres.dll. There are several JPgs in it ,failed to replace them, hope you guys find a way, i am not very familiar with Resoucehacker Thaks for the info.I will investigate it.For imageres.dll use Stardock logonstudio(logonscreen background)

Hmm.Previously this has not caused problems for me.Ive removed offline files and kept diagnostics and NSC has always functioned properly.Gonna test in few days if it causes problems for me now.

It's not the subject but recently, the CIO of Microsoft clearly said that Vista is a "work in progress" so I really don't think that it is going to replace XP soon... Hmm.I use Ventrilo.Removed Ease of Access but so far had not had any problems with Ventrilo(i dont use text-to-speech) I have Canon Pixma IP2000 printer, removed Canon printer drivers but integrated IP2000 drivers (in fact they were meant for XP). Works well! Im using Canon MP110.Removed def Canon drivers and integrated correct Vista x86 MP110 drivers but printer was not recognized no matter what.

*Choose the option "download but let me choose if to install" option in Windows Update. *Search for Updates *When updates downloaded do not install them yet. *Go to: C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download .There may be .cab or extensionless files.Add .rar or .zip extension to the extensionless files and extract .cab files inside. *Integrate .cab files with vLite(under hotfixes tab).Vlite shows what cab files they are(name,size,version,date etc)

AveIconBTW any reason why I shouldn't mod (remove, integrate, etc) with vLite before attempting this? And is it OK to do so after I do this? I use Infranview to convert images etc. The most important thing is to make the image so it holds only 1 edition of Vista(ex:Ultimate).If you use multi-edition vista and modify the .wim then there is no way to know to what vista edition the changes were applied.It may become chaotic.Custom wallpapers in Ultimate,cookies in Premium and so on. When it comes to not modifying the image before .wim mounting then its pretty simple...why modify it before when you have to use vLite afterwards anyway to make a bootable .iso .Better make the changes with vlite after .wim unmounted and complete vLite modifying in 1 step instead of 2.

I have a bug to report!: When vLite is finished and i try to close it then it wont close and i have to terminate it from taskmanager. Previously had v.1.1.6 Beta 2 installed and installed v.1.1.6 RC on top of it(this might be the problem source?). Vlite does not exit in any normal way:pressing Finish,Exit or red X.It stops responding and does not accept any input.There is no activity in task manager.CPU utilization remains at 00% and memory footprint is constantly the same as seen in screenshot: I also created a dump file(171MB) and will completly uninstall-reinstall vlite once i have some reply here.
