  1. I would not touch UAC with a 10 foot pole even if my life depended on it Would this be the temp folder for windows or the temp folder for the 7Lite tool? Fingers crossed it for the 7Lite tool coz I don't have 20GB free space on C drive Thats for 7Lite i believe. Anyway very nice changes Ben and keep it up
  2. Same here.Nothing removed and Install.wim still at same size. Other things that could be improved: *Ability to check folders for driver integration.RT 7 Lite finds all nessesary .infi files from the folder and its subfolders. Also i hope it knows how to use /ForceUnsigned flag for non WHQL drivers? *Ability to integrate not only .theme files but also .themepack files that contain all nessesary resources. *Ability to cycle trough options with doubleclick, instead of selecting option from drop-down box. This can speed up option setting quite a bit.vLite does this for example. *"Protect Feature" option.Like in vLite where you select features to keep and vLite warns if you try to remove components that would brake that feature. *Tooltip about Red components and short comment what removing them could brake. *Auto detect Silent Installers for program integration.Currently i havent got a clue how to check if program executable supports silent install or not?(short of testing each one one-by-one) *Ability to load previous RT 7 Lite settings(not implemented completely yet?). *Ability to change TEMP folder location from RT 7 Lite settings(like vLite does). *Show current operation on bottom of "Log" window`s progress bar.For example: Integrating KB123456.msu ;Removing: Accessibility and so on.Like vLite does.Currently it only shows Preparing and such general messages. *Future Win7 SP1 Beta/RTM integration support?
  3. Install this - it is one of the prerequisites for the program. I was getting a similar, if not the same message, until I installed it. http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe Thanks.I was also able to get it working.Odd thos that it requires the Flash_ActiveX where as i have installed Flash_General Since i dont normally use anything that requires Flash ActiveX then i had no need for this package.
  4. #1 yes it should allow adding folders.Trust me its a pain in tha a** to manually add 87 different .inf files one-by-one Still i am unable to even start this program.Simply crashes when started.Tried every single compability option but still same: Windows 7 Ultimate N x64 +Fully updated WAIK for Win7 Latest Adobe Flash UAC Disabled No Anti-Virus installed Installed .NET: Error messages: And: Log Name: Application Source: Windows Error Reporting Date: 13.03.2010 12:22:33 Event ID: 1001 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Custom Description: Fault bucket 1035746046, type 5 Event Name: CLR20r3 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: rtwin7lite.exe P2: 1.0.0.0 P3: 4b99e018 P4: RTWin7Lite P5: 1.0.0.0 P6: 4b99e018 P7: 15 P8: e9 P9: System.InvalidOperationException P10: Attached files: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\WERA039.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml These files may be available here: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_rtwin7lite.exe_bed885b058e1b06c4f4e2458a1721cf673324271_05d2b547 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 52adb5de-2e8a-11df-87a7-0015f2c80684 Report Status: 0 Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Windows Error Reporting" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1001</EventID> <Level>4</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2010-03-13T10:22:33.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>2035</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Custom</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>1035746046</Data> <Data>5</Data> <Data>CLR20r3</Data> <Data>Not available</Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>rtwin7lite.exe</Data> <Data>1.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4b99e018</Data> <Data>RTWin7Lite</Data> <Data>1.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4b99e018</Data> <Data>15</Data> <Data>e9</Data> <Data>System.InvalidOperationException</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\WERA039.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml</Data> <Data>C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_rtwin7lite.exe_bed885b058e1b06c4f4e2458a1721cf673324271_05d2b547</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>52adb5de-2e8a-11df-87a7-0015f2c80684</Data> <Data>0</Data> </EventData> </Event>
  5. Actually Win7 memory usage is lower for one more reason compared to Vista: The graphical data is now stored only in videomemory(on graphics card). In Vista the same data was held both in vidmem and system mem(identical). Now that win7 does not do that the sysmem usage is lower.
  6. You can add hotfixes, service pack 1(not SP2),drivers and language packs
  7. I uploaded: http://www.2shared.com/file/6600446/146721..._v116_BETA.html
  8. Well most ppl should not run into this issue as even with x64 you still have to integrate a ton of things to reach such big WIM number
  9. Upgrade DVD should work.It should contain all nessesary files. The features unlocked depend on the key entered. But to buy this? .Sry but at this point i would use slightly shadier methods and save some money
  10. Well at first hand theres the hibernation file(1GB or so) so i you dont use that you could save ~1Gb from there. You can also play with the paging file size.In my 2GB RAM pc it sets paging file to 2.3GB but that always seems bit of an overkill so you could try adjusting the size to little lower end see if i causes problems or not.I have also deleted many unnessesary help and support files/folders from C:\Program Files .That does not give much extra space but maybe 100MB max.You can also delete screensavers from C:\Windows and default wallpapers from C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper .Also you can delete user account pictures from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures [hidden folder] .You can delete fonts you do not use, delete windows sounds you do not use, delete cursors and so on. Hopefully you got some ideas
  11. Ofcourse. Its fully compatible. You have to remember that SP2 is not much more than a collection of hotfixes. There are very few barely noticable changes like Search 4.0 etc...
  12. Thanks for your time.I`ll soon do a new build(integrating SP2 compatible LIP package) and i will test the generic key then and update this topic accordingly.
  13. Well you could always do reverse integration.Remove the bloat, install service packs etc and remake WIM and later use vLite to open that wim
  14. Ill give it a try. Will i still be able to ReArm after 30 days when i use this generic key during install?
  15. So a fairly odd thing.Despite i had checked to skip activation on the Unnattended tab it always asks for one when installing.So i thought it was some vLite bug(vLite not exactly optimized for SP2 and so on) So i used WSIM to create my own Autounnatended.xml but even with that the installation still asked for key during install. Its not mayor annoyance but i wondered if someone has had the same problem?. Here`s the Autounnatended.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <settings pass="windowsPE"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-International-Core-WinPE" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="NonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <SetupUILanguage> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> </SetupUILanguage> <InputLocale>0425:00000425</InputLocale> <UserLocale>et-EE</UserLocale> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> <SystemLocale>et-EE</SystemLocale> </component> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Setup" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="NonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <UserData> <AcceptEula>true</AcceptEula> </UserData> <ImageInstall> <OSImage> <InstallFrom> <MetaData wcm:action="add"> <Key>/IMAGE/NAME</Key> <Value>Windows Vista ULTIMATE</Value> </MetaData> </InstallFrom> <InstallToAvailablePartition>false</InstallToAvailablePartition> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </OSImage> </ImageInstall> </component> </settings> <settings pass="oobeSystem"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="NonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <OOBE> <HideEULAPage>true</HideEULAPage> <NetworkLocation>Home</NetworkLocation> <ProtectYourPC>3</ProtectYourPC> </OOBE> <TimeZone>FLE Standard Time</TimeZone> </component> </settings> <settings pass="specialize"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Security-Licensing-SLC-UX" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="NonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <SkipAutoActivation>true</SkipAutoActivation> </component> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Deployment" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <RunSynchronous> <RunSynchronousCommand wcm:action="add"> <Description>Registry Tweaks</Description> <Order>1</Order> <Path>Regedit.exe -s &quot;D:\Vista\Registry Settings\Backup\Instant.reg&quot;</Path> </RunSynchronousCommand> </RunSynchronous> </component> </settings> <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="catalog:d:/vlite/vlitevistaincompletebuild/sources/install_windows vista ultimate.clg" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" /> </unattend>
  16. You can use Vista-Tool to integrate unsigned drivers and they wont give the ugly popup during install.I used to have 40+ of these nasty buggers but now theyre gone and install is faster too
  17. Yes it cant be done via slipstream/vlite Only 2 options are available: *Reverse Integration *MSDN Full Vista ISO with SP2 integrated
  18. Tomorrow

    Vize 2

Im glad to hear that youre making Vize 2. If you need a tester to test it on Vista SP2 x86 let me know
  19. A program with the name Vista-Tool: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=3334

  21. OEM images are not supported.Using such non-standard vlited image can cause number of unexpected problems...as seen in this case
  22. You can integrate English IE8 with the current version of vLite. For non english langpacks use Vista-Tool Do not touch the Unattended tab.Changing anything in there will corrupt the Win7 image
