Vista -> upgrade to Win7 and it worked just fine? Did you run the upgrade while in Vista or boot from the cd? Thanks. you can PM if you like to keep this thread on topic.

take the folder off the disk and move it back, date changes. I have folders I know I created in 2003 that I just moved to a new disk and the date is 2009

I have tried to restore the watermark, with no luck. Anyone know how to do this? I've googled and tried this/that until I am ready to give up, lol. It causes some problems running things in compatibility mode. I don't have any backup copy of that file (chit for brains, yes, I know).

I'm not sure, but it should install anyway. I just installed the beta on my laptop I've had for years that is not even Vista capable! The **** thing is faster with Win7 beta than it was with XP Home on there. I've actually got Win7 installed on all my computers, lol.

Forgot to post back, lol. PD 10 offline defragged just perfectly on Win7 beta 1. Its safe guys and gals, lol. PD 10 is DA BEST!

I voted for Raxco's PerfectDisk (v10). Running it on Windows 7 right now and its great. I have not ran an offline defrag yet, but I did just make a backup. I'll give it a whirl and post back results.

I am not trying to insult anyone or ask a dumb question, but that link to your hard drive points out the drive is automatically set on the jumper to SATA I speeds and needs to be set to SATA II to see the actual 3.0 speeds. Have you correctly set the jumpers?

If your paying for NOD32, then you have to buy Avira to compare the two. The paid version of Avira does have a Web Guard(real time for browser) protection module.

Put a Raptor in that pupppy, or better yet, RAID two (or four) of them on a 3ware card and you'll get a 7 on your hard disk, lol

I've got 48 running on a real lean install. I have 8 things in my tray total. It runs faster than my Vista Business did on this pc. Im all for Win 7!

My P4 3.0 with HT gets a 3.4 also.

Just install the upgrade without a product key and tell it during the install, that its the full version. Once you get that installed, run the upgrade from inside Windows. Use the product key this time and install your upgrade. Hope that helps. I have the Vista Business upgrade and did it just like that^^^^

If you have the media it was installed from, do a "Detect and Repair" from the help menu. I used to use that in 2003, but its gone in 2007.

Install Synergy on both the computers and set it up just once. It runs on boot and allows unattended access 24/7. EDIT: don't set it up to start on boot if your using vista. That only works on XP.

Synergy I use this to run my desktop and laptop when needed. It lets you use the mouse and keyboard to run multiple computers.

You don't have a page file on there do ya? Sorry if this question seems stupid. Just figured I'd ask. Also, you haven't put the system variables on there have ya? I did this with mine for a time when I had only 1 drive in my pc.

I run Vista on this old beater' pc, lol: P4 3 Ghz with HT 2 GB DDR 400 SATA 7200 rpm 16mb cache ATI 9600XT 650W PSU It runs real nice to be 4-5 years old. I get a 4.0 Experience. With all that said, if you go with anything above what I have, you won't be disappointed running Vista.
