  1. My mistake. I was just speaking from experience before I upgraded to Vista here recently. Thanks for clearing that up for me/us.
  2. Office 2003 + XP + Microsoft Update = problems. It will also cause a reboot to lag about 1-3 minutes after installing it. Stick with Windows Update.
  3. The top two pics are Windows XP for sure. I have both XP and Vista on two different pc's here. The Vista looks like the bottom, XP the top.
  4. I am not having the problem.
  5. I use Outlook 2003 and it catches 97% of my spam at worst. Most of the time I never see a spam, sometimes for weeks.
  6. Right my download is 1MB not Mb.
  7. Same here.
  8. I get an error that I do not have a compatible card installed. Oh well. I'll stick with 4.1 for now I guess. Thanks all the same.
  9. In that case, go get some double layer DVDs that are 8+ GB and fresh install Vista and backup that way. DIdn't think about that when I posted before. You may have to slim down the install using vLite, but I think a clean install should fit on a double layer.
  10. It will take more than one DVD for sure. Also if you have a second hard disk in the pc, the complete pc backup works great in Vista. I would recommend the drive over the disc method 100%.
  11. Well, my new pc will be a custom build with a new pci-e/x slot on a newer mobo that most likely will be 64bit ready. I only regret buying a 32bit Vista when I should have gotten the 64bit now. Oh well, you learn from experience. Thank you.
  12. Thats what I was thinking. I'll just stick with 32bit and 2GB that I have now. For a while anyway. 64 bit is still kinda new from what I have heard and drivers are not 100% ready for all hardware. I'll leave it at that, not trying to hijack anyone's thread, lol. Thanks jcarle.
  13. Even if I am running Vista Business 32 bit?
  14. I am very glad I have read this thread. I am planning on building a new pc and was going to go with 4GB, but not now. :
  15. OS/2 here
  16. You need to update your video card drivers. Find the manufacturer's website, download and install the drivers. After reboot you should be able to set the resolution.
  17. Which is why I will never again purchase a Creative product. I got burned and I learned. I am using the last card they will ever sell to me.
  18. 4 custom built pc's for me. I will never buy a name after building my first one, with that first 200 MMX cpu, lol.
  19. The drivers from Creative that say Vista on them break the 5.1 down to 2.1 sound with nothing from the rear speakers.
  20. Thanks. I make backups 3 kinda ways, literally, but thanks for the reminder, incase I was having a brainfart.
  21. I prob will once I get it back. Loaned it my friend to do his cpu today, lol.
  22. My P4, lol. It was hitting 70C while doing video yesterday, now I can't hit 60C, maxed out for 20 min @ 100% cpu. Its great.
