  2. Your English is quite good, rest assured of it. As for your questions do please read the attached document. It's author is YuriyCN, not me: I only made an English version of it using the DeepL translator, which is crude but way better than anything the Google or Bing translators can ever hope to do. If you can read Russian, however, you should get the original file, which location is also indicated in the same document. Good luck! Later edit: thanks to @gerwin, a much more readable version of the initial translation now exists, and is attached below, replacing the original one. Windows_XP_2021_1_ENU_c.zip

  3. Since there's not much info out there on the web unless you spend a considerable amount of time googling, I thought i'd post the solution so more people can find it quickly. Update Late 2019: Several months after i posted this Microsoft fixed the problem but I believe it was a side effect of them updating their certificates due to an industry shift, so there’s no guarantee they will continue work in future also in the last update i mentioned a batch file, I ended up getting busy and my adhd made me forget, I’ll still post it once I get organised and find it again as it’s useful. Update: The latest problem with activation affects both XP and Vista however it’s relatively easy to fix, you need to update your root Certificates (The same issue causes problems browsing the net too) I have created a Batch script that will download and update the Root Certificates accordingly but it will be a couple of days before I can post it. Below is the Original Fix I posted Turns out it's exceedingly easy to restore Windows XP Online Activation Open the Start Menu Right Click on Internet and choose "Internet Properties" Goto the Advanced Tab Scroll down near the bottom to the Security Section and uncheck both: "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" "Check for server certificate revocation" Now you can activate online as normal or use the "Windows XP Product Key Change Tool" I would reccomend re-enabling both options afterwards even if you dont use Internet Exploder (which you REALLY REALLY should not be) If you’re still having problems: I highly recommend downloading the “Windows XP Product Key Change Tool” it’s an official Microsoft tool and you should be able to download it from majorgeeks worked in every other instance for me where the built in one didn’t. (And in think it also lets you use different type of keys from the media the OS was installed from, such as Retail on OEM and such) Also make sure your clock is set correctly (A common source of TLS problems)

  4. Hey guys! I saw a Video recently, where Windows 7 got transformed into Windows Vista. I tried it out on a Virtual Machine and I am very impressed by that. It Looks 100 % like Windows Vista, even the Branding is original Vista. As you also know Windows 7 supports Internet Explorer 10/11, Office 2013/2016, Microsoft Security Essentails, latest Chrome, latest Firefox, latest Skype, latest Spotify... It feels like Vista supports those Applications now too I will add a screenshot.

  5. What a coincidence ! I had been scammed too . And that man turned out to be a "lawyer" ! Who would've thought !? And I feel like I was scammed by HP too , when their expensive laptop went bad in 2007 (after 1 year of light usage). On topic , I think it's still not a problem to obtain a legal Vista DVD , I've seen some cheap retail versions (on the well known auction) . Also , if you have a branded PC , just buy cheap OEM installation disks , it is 100% legal , just make sure the manufacturer matches the logo. I still have all of the original Vista DVDs OEM (supplied with the Siemens and some other of my PCs ) and they activate themselves without a problem. Oh , and gotta have the sticker too. If you need service packs , they can be installed later.

  7. it was working till last year on the old 2018 build, it seems csgo wont launch anymore though due to added functions

  8. That usually happens with older AMD cards or inside a VM. You can fix that by deleting the gldriverquery files For CS:GO, I think you need absolute newest Steam, or more kernel functions, but you can still use the 2013 demo viewer for LAN games

  9. You can easily fix it by going to view settings on windows explorer (not ie) and selecting browse folders on same window instead of launch folder on seperate windows

  12. Why not jump to Windows Vista ? A solid choice , especially considering it has a fully working extended kernel , thanks to @win32.

  13. No , just read the previous poster and look at his screenshot . Even with the ancient Chrome 55 such things don't happen. And Chrome 55 is like 4 years old (!) The riddle with tags is solved , scroll back. He obviously copy/pasted my first post and inserted it in his reply . And the tags and formatting got attached because his browser (obviously) is modern too . I'm certain if he had an ancient one , he'd just copied it in 'plain text' mode . Anyway , who is who and which browser is using can be clearly seen by the moderators , including the IP and a ton of other info. So ?

  14. Hello , someone having extensions being disabled or switched off on chromium 86 after it's re-launch with the new kernel ? I've noticed such behaviour starting from version 82 or so.

  15. The aforementioned driver (the one he claims to have modified for Vista usage) is still present and the kernel too. This driver is the same as ofiicial , except he replaced a couple of digits in the inf file.

  16. Hello, I don't know about this exact model , but I was getting an instant BSOD with XP 32 and XP 64 bit on my Haswell notebook . I had tried all available Intel video drivers for XP. I'm pretty sure XP is fine with Haswell systems if you add a discrette videocard that supports Vista / XP and disable Intel in the BIOS . Yes , in some mobos you need to do it manually.

  17. Arduino 1.8.13 (Latest) runs fine provided you edit the arduino-builder.exe MinorOperatingSystem and MinorSubsystemVersion in CFF Explorer otherwise code will fail to compile, other than that it installs with no problems

  18. I'm glad you're enjoying my transformation pack! I found it to be a practical solution for those that are using newer hardware incompatible with Windows Vista (such as Intel Haswell), or those that require newer software that don't work with Vista. The Windows 8.1 one isn't as accurate to the real Windows Vista due to changes in the shell/DWM compared to Windows 7 but it's still far better than anything achievable on Windows 10, where everything is such a broken mess and Microsoft insists on keeping any sort of customization impossible through forced updates that break your changes. As for me, personally though, I choose to stick with the original Windows Vista as I use Ivy Bridge hardware which works with Vista fine, and don't require anything that only runs on Windows 7 or later. I also find Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 to be faster and more stable than Windows 7 on the same hardware in most cases. Thank you for the kind words

  19. I also have a Toshiba Satellite A350-134 from 2009, which ran Windows Vista Home Premium at the beginning. I havent used that Laptop since 2013 I guess. I recently used it again and thab I realized that Vista is unsupported for 2 years now. So I upgraded it from Vista to Windows 7 (which might be also a bad decision as the Upgrade took ~2 Hours and Win7 is ending soon). I dont really like Windows 7's shell, so I used this transformation pack and I am REALLY impressed! It feels like Windows Vista SP3 or a refurbished Vista that is so much faster. Windows 8.1 will be my next upgrade, as Windows 8.1 is the fastest OS on this old Laptop. Windows 7 Boot takes over a minute, while 8.1 took 26 seconds. Specs: Model: Satellite A350-134 Ram: 3 GB Memory: 150 GB HDD Processor: Pentium T3400

  20. That video was posted by MSFN member WinClient5270, OP of Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 and perhaps the greatest Vista guru of our time! This is no doubt a much more practical idea than your earlier wish to essentially transform Vista into Windows 7. Edit: Of course I wrote that before win32 developed Windows Vista Extended Kernel.

  21. Hi guys! I'm new in this Forum and I really love Windows Vista. I use it since 2007 or 2008 I dont quite remember. I always hated it when people talked bad about Vista. I dont think that I have to explain, why Vista was a huge Milestone in the history of Windows and that Vista's successors all base on Vista. My project is to port Chrome 51 or 52 to Vista. Personally, I dont think that it is impossible. Chrome 50 works very well, 51 opens but doesnt loads pages, 52 crashes completly. It is because there are new API's used that Vista doesnt support. I always wanted to know which exact file it is that blocks Vista. There are several backports that base on Chromium 54 for example, that run with Vista, but what did the developers do? Is it possible to install Windows 7's APIs in Vista or what do I have to change to run the software. Same goes for IE10, Office 2013, Firefox 54 and WMP12. I really want to have Office 2013&IE 10 on Vista because IE10 renders pages wayyy better than IE9. I already have the plan to backport some Windows 7 feauters to Vista.

  22. it should be easy to start from chrome 51 as it already partially opens , also ive heard over many places that WMP 12 will work if you copy and replace it from Windows 7 7000 beta build , IE10 should be able to work although there seem to be artificial block or something which prevents it from loading , if you can figure it out , it would be a massive thing , i too love vista and have it till today dual booted with windows 7.
