  1. Stefan Sundin wrote a program named AltDrag that adds the ability to move/resize windows with the 'ALT' key (Linux style) under Windows. I started using his program which is really awesome but encountered some performance problems on my old computer. Because AltDrag Shows the content of the windows while dragging, it is annoying to use on slow hardware, I also prefer, and find visually less disturbing, to have just a rectangle when I move/resize the window. In addition I realized that the program had a lot more features that I needed and was incompatible with Windows NT4 and 2000. So I made a 'Micro' version that is very simple light and has few features (only the ones I need) for myself. Now it is time to share. This program needs at least Windows NT4 service pack 3 or later. This is because it relies on the 'LowLevel Keyboard/Mouse Proc' functions that is only supported by the NT based Windows and from NT4 sp3. 3. @Alex654 : I just navigated to a LIVE youtube stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDU-rZs-Ic4 with the very latest New Moon 28 32-bit build (buidID=20201002092931) and live chat is displayed correctly: My yt SSUAO currently is general.useragent.override.youtube.com;Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html) I can confirm that by restoring the default yt SSUAO: general.useragent.override.youtube.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 PaleMoon/28.10.2a1 "Live Chat" BREAKS, as you reported:

  4. This is a known issue that has already been reported in the "upstream" support forum, as it is reproducible in official Pale Moon client (v28.1x.x): https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=25154&p=198725 Last post from OP (a month ago) suggests a youtube.com SSUAO mimicking a Fx 62.0+Basilisk UA, e.g. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0 Basilisk/52.9.2020.10.05 fixed things for him at the time... NB: Just a friendly reminder , when you seek help for an issue affecting specific sites/services, be kind enough to also provide clear URLs where the issue reported can be tested by other members of this community who may not be familiar with the issue at hand (FWIW, I don't have a Google/YouTube account and I NEVER use the "chat" feature ) ... Best greetings

  5. I use MiniSnap and Procwin 1.6 to get details for the libraries loaded by a process. Also Taskinfo2000 2.1. By profile I mean a compatibility mode enhanced to include other module options plus its own KnownDLLs module redirection set. Kexstubs also supports api forwarding to other libraries.

  7. I presume you've already tried restarting Windows Management Instrumentation service? That's the only thing I can think of.

  8. This does not work, in host the syntax is: ip address - host. exe, program names and the like do not need to be added there, this is not a firewall.

  9. Hello everyone. I'm sorry for the long periods of inactivity lately. I've finally gotten around to getting the list up to date. Here's a summary of changes: Updated all links for Windows Vista Service Packs and Platform Update to ones provided by @greenhillmaniac as Microsoft removed these updates. Removed the link to my "Fix Windows Update stuck on Checking for updates in Windows Vista" video since Windows Update on Vista was shut down in August 2020. Fixed last version of eM Client for Vista: changed from version 7.2.36694.0 to slightly older 7.2.35595.0 (thanks to @tweak and @Vistapocalypse for pointing out this error). There remain some broken links to Microsoft content, mainly in the Additional Microsoft Software & Utilities & Microsoft Office Add-ins & Tools sections. These were likely purged during the "SHA-1pocoplyse" of August 2020. I will work to restore these the best I can as time goes on. Hopefully they are available at the Wayback Machine/Internet Archive...

  10. They're not fully cumulatively. They're only cumulative for the specific product that covers. Since Microsoft doesn't put them all in one place (why NOT???), you have to manually keep going back until you have the latest of each one. Annoying, and you'll need to map out the dependencies, but I think after 2018 or 2017 everything's been superseded at least once.

  11. With KernelEx installed you can run the latest youtube-dl script source on Python 2.7. More conveniently and less involved you could use the standalone youtube-dl exe I built with py2exe (there wasn't a 9x compatible one since 2016) last week: https://msfn.org/board/topic/178283-how-you-really-browse-the-web-on-98me-in-2019/?do=findComment&comment=1185074 There are a number a GUIs for it online which should work fine with it or it can be fairly easily integrated into Opera 12 (via links popup menu and/or page background Open With submenu via StartMenuInternet registry key). For another solution there is also JDownloader 2 Portable which requires Java 7 or 8 and has a slow startup. It can be integrated in Opera 12 too as above.

  13. The goal of this thread is to build a complete archive for the official updates, hotfixes and utilities of Windows 9x and NT 4 in all languages. I started to collect them in 2010 but unfortunately due to the sickness of laziness and the busy life of being a student, work was stopped after the English updates and the updates in other languages are not available anymore when the work resume in early 2017. Have tried to salvage them via hotfix request service before they shut it down but sadly only a few of them can be saved, most the updates from 2003 to 2006 were exclusive to the Windows Update site of 98, 98 SE and ME and only stored on the servers for v3 and v4 Update site, although some of them are probably still online right now, you can't grab them unless you know the exact hash value of them, and you can no longer access the Update Catalog from the update site as both of them have been decommissioned since mid-2011. Also for NT 4, the updates are available for download from the Download Center but most of the files and pages have been taken offline in 2015. Link to the my collection archive: https://mega.nz/folder/PGxXyQDR#4_BX8FWdQkMlY53DkGbAQQ There are two root folders, important and optional, the important folder contains the critical updates which were offered by the Windows Update v3 and v4 sites back when they online, meanwhile the optional folder consists of updates, utilities and hotfix that were available from the product homepages from the Wayback Machine as well as other updates which were not classified as critical. Due to the amount of NT 4 updates, a dedicated folder has been created for English updates. The English updates of 98, 98 SE and ME from the Windows Update Catalog are also included within the Important\WU\v4 directory. All the files are taken from MS or the Wayback Machine. Here is the speadsheet that listed the updates included in the archive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Uai21TIyIsnSrMU5jC7zlQ_JPd98Ugd/view?usp=sharing When the character 'd' is marked with the updates, it's done and included. For any contribution, it's marked with 'c'. If you have or you know someone have any remaining bits of them which are missing form the archive, please kindly share them or try to ask them to share, I will create an index below for any contribution. In addition, I have recorded some short videos when browsing the v3 and v4 update site back in 2010, if you are interested please head to this playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFqzRmfBPvV-nTjtsGn6USNqAUA8-Nvxk. Any comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
