All fakes, like the member above wrote. I'd also keep a close eye on this user @lll888. Before posting his fakes, he accused MSFN of being "almost dead" and hosting non-working projects. Here's my answer. https://msfn.org/board/topic/186324-disable-system-restore/?do=findComment&comment=1269459 https://msfn.org/board/topic/186324-disable-system-restore/?do=findComment&comment=12694322 points

Why does it matter, it's still a fake, too. I'd wait for official statements from the developer. He's a member here. Would you risk installing a fake kernel? I think, no.2 points

Or you can just read here, right from the source. https://www.nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/5-8/features/nasa-knows/what-is-an-eclipse-58/2 points

Actually, I got a written invitation from him into my inbox, here at MSFN, so I assumed he went back to his "normal" spamming behaviour, right after he created his new fake account. I'd make a screenshot, but it's forbidden to share private messages, in the meantime - the mods are very welcome to read and inspect my inbox.2 points

There's a Polish article on satkurier.pl about not working CANAL+ Online on Windows 7 and 8 with Chrome, showing OPES 230 error. Also CANAL+ now requires Windows 10 for encrypted playback, despite working on Firefox on Windows 7.1 point

Will a single license allow it to be used with different Windows systems on a multi-boot PC? My understanding is that the license is tied to the hardware, so if I use a multi-boot setup, the license will cover more than one StartAllBack install on that PC. Is that correct?1 point

Old is not synonymous with retro. Retro is something made today in the style of the past. The word is usually associated with motion backwards. Maybe if Reactos actually got released, you could call that retro.1 point

... Did you actually want to write "many years" ? AFAICR, WidevineCDM never worked in any official release Firefox version that supported Windows XP; the module itself lacks patented decoders and on Firefox it relies on WMF's ones (Vista SP2+PlatformUpdateSupplement and higher); yes, it would work in Google Chrome 49 (which itself bundles patented decoders), but support for XP in the module itself was removed soon after the demise of Chrome 49 (both it and FxESR 52.9.0 had support for WV v1.4.8.903[signed 20160709]); current versions of WV (4.10.xxxx.0) require at minimum Cr69, but this number is probably of little practical significance now, as most DRM services (websites) are designed to work in quite recent Chrome versions... If it's still desktop browsers on Windows we're talking about here, then WidevineCDM has always been limited to L3 there (software decryption, the weakest form of DRM protection); L2 (aka VMP) is a quite recent addition (to desktop browsers), I'd say not older than 2-3 yrs; as for L1 (H/W decryption) on a desktop Windows browser? Some Reddit posts mention it should be available on (Chr)Edge (via PlayReady 3.0) on Win11, but I'm not even sure this is correct; basically, for L1 DRM on Windows [10?] 11 you need a compatible GPU/CPU with TEE (decryption chip) and the latest (Netflix) app from the Windows App Store... For reference (though from 2.5yrs ago) : read this ; as a rule of thumb, WV L1 is restricted to mobile devices (phones/tablets), STBs and Smart TVs...1 point

... Actually, YOU CAN'T : https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/blob/main/docs/FAQ.md ... Same goes for Supermium and other, non-major-league, browsers; and the latest version of WidevineCDM, 4.10.2830.0, requires at least Win8 to be functional; and in Th/Sm, only the sites that do not enforce VMP will work (latest Sm-v126esr-r4 offers a kludge to re-enable WV on Win7, again ONLY for L3/non-VMP DRM services). Read above... This is ancient history ; the app/plugin hasn't been supported by Microsoft for close to a decade (off the top of my head, did not look it up) and Netflix have dropped the "Silverlight fallback" more than four years ago? ... No way; at any given time, only the latest WV release will work (which is v4.10.2830.0); planned releases are usually every 6 months (sooner, if "hacks" become publicly known); for 3-4 wks after a new release, the immediately previous one (v4.10.2710.0 currently) may also work... TL:DR For Netflix: You want Win8+ and a supported major browser (practically, this boils down to official Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox) whose vendor has paid Google the hefty price of VMP signing ...1 point

How do you expect us to help you if you cannot even tell us the EXACT version we are to compare with ??? The answer is very simple. You don't have to help those types. It's more of a waste of time. And I also don't believe that old browser versions from 2022 work better with YouTube today than the current ones. YouTube has permanently changed for the worse. Even an old cucumber doesn't really help.1 point

<sarcasm font>Is this your swan song?</sarcasm font> I love the creativity of some people here. BTW, your investigations of the VORAPIS V3 interface are strange. On my old and very weak Windows XP computer, the original YouTube interface is a real disaster. It takes ages to load and only with tons of scripts, filters and extensions, it can be accessed but when scrolling the page a bit, the loading of unwanted crap starts again with a 100% CPU usage. In contrast, the VORAPIS V3 interface is loaded in less than a minute, and the usage of CPU and RAM is much, much less as it is with the original interface, even when scrolling the page a bit. So, no swan song but stating facts.1 point

BTW, it wasn't meant offensive. It was just an observation I made when reading your comments. I'm someone who likes to say what I think, sometimes very directly. And as for Rammstein, I'm sorry to say that I've never been a fan.1 point

I assume all your random crashes are related to the already reported gkmedias.dll issue. Right? If so, you can replace this file with the previous one without having to completely revert to the previous version of New Moon 28. I mention this as I have been testing the new release the last hours. After replacing the gkmedias.dll file, this new release of New Moon 28 seems to be working fine so far.1 point
-
Confirmed. The gkmedias.dll file (8.496.128 Bytes) is faulty. I replaced it by the previous gkmedias.dll file (8.623.104 Bytes), and the error is history. I can confirm the same problem in the most recent release of New Moon 28 (2024-10-11). I replaced gkmedias.dll file (9.862.144 Bytes) by the previous one (9.989.632 Bytes), and the error is history.1 point

For some time now, your swan song to the UXP era can be read in each of your posts here. Very inspiring and helpful.1 point

Not really sure. I myself (even on Win10) do not use it and I ALSO DELETE IT! My point here is that I'm not "hinting" to others to delete a file without also INFORMING them of the REAL FUNCTION of that file. You're smart enough to see that difference. But also TOO PROUD to admit that maybe somebody else may be "more right" than you. I know because I'm that way too! "Takes one to know one." Just watch, THIS IS WHAT MSFN HAS TURNED INTO. Watch, your "hint" post of a REPORTING tool *WILL* get "likes" and my post informing users of that files REAL FUNCTION *will NOT*. Sit back and watch. That is MSFN these days.1 point
-
I hope you are listening to yourself. You just delete files willy nilly without even knowing what they are! Got it. I hope the Lemmings that follow your every word are also listening. And we ALL know that they are. The "likes" are about to tROLL in. Sit back and watch. We all know it! "I don't know, but Dixel deletes it and that's good enough for me."1 point

But Firefox 128 is a normal browser, it's up-to-date, just softpedia protection is overdone, I get such sites that show captcha on any browser, maybe they react to my IP.1 point
-
Please do not mislead like that. Just because YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, that does NOT MAKE IT A REPORTING TOOL. For those that REALLY want to know what chrome_proxy.exe is, please read here and even those that don't see me as part of their "inner circle" should admit that this is a "like" instead of "liking" the MISLEAD above that the rest of MSFN already knows you will "like".1 point

Nothing weird, I always suspected win32 stood behind all Kernel releases to begin with, it's just my personal opinion after looking at the code. Not seeking an argument over it.1 point

It can't be classified as an "attack" in either of the cases, Microsoft has the right to defend what's theirs. Closed source Kernel modifications aren't allowed in the US,1 point

The original SHA-2 hash for KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe is 652f6d2901c86de4a05743b5f808fafb6e28b9720c39bce5e7e031d26cac9035 And it matches with re uploads from commandcontrolQ and VxKex/VxKex commandcontrolQ stated that: The VxKex/VxKex one looks suspicious tho as it looks like it's baiting for donations in Bitcoin (which wasn't the case with the original release) and Readme is also heavily trimmed. If @vxiiduu re released the official version, they would have probably let us know here.1 point

I do have saved KexSetup_Release_1_1_0_1291.exe and KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe files. So, I did download KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe again, then did "fc /b" command to compare both files. The files were identical. Well, the KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe does not work correctly in 32bit systems, so I,m using older KexSetup_Release_1_1_0_1291.exe, instead.1 point

My German language pack for New Moon 28 - Fixed - Part 1 For New Moon 28, I use the German language pack from here: https://github.com/JustOff/pale-moon-localization/releases/download/28.10.0_RC1/de.xpi which I modified and corrected myself a long time ago in terms of the dev tools. Here is a screenshot of the Web Developer menu (Web-Entwickler) of New Moon 28.10.6a1 (32-bit) (2023-01-19) with my fixed German language pack already installed: My modified language pack is fully working, and all has been translated. If you are German like me, or German is your native language, you are lucky and can use my already modified language pack file de-mod-content-dev.xpi. Here is the link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/99riihhfrxrju2k/de-mod-content-dev.xpi/file Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

I'm using chrome 102 currently. So no, it's not java's fault, unless they made an update to the site again. XP forums, I'm not a member. The funny thing, I still can put likes on some other (certain) members.1 point

Lookie here, I found some widely available literature on what happens when/if someone blocks D.Draker. Names and my short resumes below. The modern ones are too plain, on the other hand - straight to the ponit. "A day without D.Draker - pain with pleasure, or just pain ?" 2016 Intriguing, with a soft touch of mystery. "D.D. haunts me wherever I go, will magic help ?" 1991 Over saturated with dark rituals. So-so. "Will blocking D.Draker bring me satisfaction ?" 2018 This one's a waste of money, in my opinion. Could give you a spoiler - no. "The 101 best pieces of advice on how to kill time between D.Draker's posts." 2020 A good one, recommend.1 point

But how do you even know that I replied to you, if you blocked me for the 187786987th time ? Weird. Perhaps @jaclaz could shed some light on this awkward situation ? Try to block me again, maybe ? And don't forget to notify everyone again. 187786988th time is a charm ! Consult lagacyfan, also. He's an expert on blocking.1 point

If I where you, I'd report that spamming cretin to the MSFN moderators, who the hell allows him to to use our inboxes to fulfill his needs for another forum ?!??! Why they want you ? Well, two possible scenarios: 1st - They're gonna make a mockery out of you, like they did in the past, I still have a couple of quite unpleasant screenshots somewhere. 2nd - Their situation is just awful (no surprise), and they simply want to fill out their empty space. What struck me as weird, why is he still here and @Tripredacus won't do anything about it ? Perhaps he just doesn't know that cretin resurfaced here again under a new name ? I was under the impression - previously banned users are not allowed. So report him the inbox message and his new screen name. This is *of course* not my business, if you choose not to. Then good luck to you on that "eclispe" or whatever that stinking hole name is.1 point

Why do you post a link to my thread about extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers? @verta looks for a thread about installing extensions manually in Chrome browsers due to the topic of this thread. And he already got two correct answers above. The following equation with the Boolean truth value true applies: UXP browser ≠ Chrome browser1 point

Thanks for your appreciation! But unfortunately, others and me can't see it in my posts above ... If you don't understand what I wrote about the valuation of technical contents (which is a kind of support of authors), why don't you use an online translation service? For example, DeepL? The English I wrote was crystal clear. Anyway! The fact that I even have to mention this grievance in terms of valuation should actually not really be necessary ... By the way, a restart feature is trivial and easy to implement into my toggle button. I already did it, and the modified toggle button works perfectly.1 point

Hello , i'm sorry I don't quite understand the purpose of this build. One won't be able to play with GT710. It's weak even for office use. If you insist on bying from Amazon.in only , then I'd suggest to replace it with GTX 950 2GD5 OCV1 , they are available there and it is fully supported on Vista. Also , maybe I'm a bit of old school , but I don't like SSDs , any of them. WD Blue 10EZEX is fast enough for this build. 550W (if it is a true 550W PSU) would be more than enough for this whole system with the replaced GPU.1 point
