If we are to assume win32 still reads Supermium topic, probably better to post there, in Supermium topic, who knows maybe he will fix it, then. I already linked to a possible fix. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=12642073 points

Why didn't you say right away that you mean the Adguard filter lists inside uBlock Origin if I understood you correctly this time? Clear questions would be more effective in obtaining suitable answers. Anyway! I will test these filter lists and report. However, in single-process mode, uBlock Origin works great as far as I can say. @feodor2 I performed several tests with uBlock Origin 1.57.2 in the multi-process mode of Mypal 68.14.0b. So far, all filters including the Adguard ones seem to be working as they should. Blocking ads, scripts and other objects on the websites and ad blocker test sites I have selected works, too. I even checked a lot using the uBO's logger. But as I already stated here, uBlock Origin 1.57.2 and previous versions only work in this mode on my computer with a 32-bit single-core CPU if extensions.webextensions.remote is set to false. However, this setting means a kind of neutering the multi-process mode and in my opinion can only be a temporary fix, as it affects all installed extensions in any case. Although I am glad that uBlock Origin 1.57.2 is working in multi-process mode at the moment, I therefore still think that a real fixing of this issue, if possible at all, would be a better solution than partially switching off multi-process mode.2 points

FWIW, I have no idea how much Thorium and Supermium can be considered to be 'clones'. As far as I'm concerned if they were clones they would be identical, and that they are not! Although they look so similar they must have both started from the same base, they have different developers working on them, so they have diverged. I'm still very grateful (and still astounded!) that they both work on Windows XP, albeit with some issues, using such a recent Chromium version. A few years ago, I'm sure we all thought that would be absolutely impossible! I'm sticking with Thorium now, although still keeping an eye on where Supermium is going too of course. Thorium has a couple of facilities now that I was really missing after using 360Chrome, natively keeping the browser open when the last tab is closed, without having to use an extension to do it, and double-clicking to close tabs, which I use all the time, and I first got used to back in the days of Presto Opera! The only important (to me) thing still missing is a setting to always open bookmarks in a new tab, which you could also do on 360Chrome. I hate it when you click on a link and it overwrites the current tab. I know you can do it with middle click and the right click menu, but I got used to opening bookmarks automatically in new tabs without having to think about it! There doesn't seem to be an extension which will easily and simply fix that, not that I've found, anyway. I'm very pleased that both the Thorium and Supermium developers seem to now be committed to producing un-Googled versions. For those that want that, I hope they don't have to wait for too long.2 points

New build of post-deprecated Serpent/moebius for XP! * Notice: This repo will not be built on regular schedule, and changes are experimental as usual. ** Current moebius patch level should be on par with 52.9, but some security patches can not be applied/ported due to source milestone differences between versions. So far, I have only used two extensions in multi-process mode, uBlock Origin and Clear Cache. Now that uBO is presumably working again, even if only by neutering the multi-process mode, I will test this mode more closely and report. In any case, I use it especially to access Codeberg because, as you already know, this website is not stable in single-process mode and does not work properly in New Moon 28 or Serpent 52.2 points

Ok. Although Mypal 68 is based on Firefox 68, however, its JavaScript engine is more recent on 83 level. So theoretically, some other extensions may no longer function properly as a result. I will keep that in mind and report in my thread about extensions when such problems appear.2 points
-
At least, on my old computer with a 32-bit single-core CPU. I did a little research about the preference extensions.webextensions.remote. This is a preference to disable separate webextensions process(es). When set to true, Mypal 68 will use separate content process(es) for webextensions that are installed in the web browser. The number of these processes can be set by the preference dom.ipc.processCount.extension with the default value of 1. When extensions.webextensions.remote is set to false, then Mypal 68 won't use separate content process(es) for these webextensions. The extensions.webextensions.remote preference will only be read once. If you are changing this preference, the browser needs to be restarted for it to apply. I now assume that this preference has no effect when using Mypal 68 in single-process mode because there is only one process.2 points

People write it's dangerous Tutanota - "Either fraud or incompetence. No support. Hundreds lost. Absolute fraud. I don't know why I thought to go with these people over an established, reputable company. Can't believe how stupid I am. This company ate up ALL of the operating funds that my nonprofit had to work with, on what? Some bug? We never, ever agreed to this. Literally just signed up yesterday. Where do you see derailing? I'm replying strictly regarding the tool you yourself suggested to the OP as a replacement for the icon, which it does, btw. The question is why does it need the "assistant" service?2 points

I can speak to whether Microsoft fixed this DESIGN FLAW with Vista, I had already answered. It was never there, to begin with. Looks like they implemented that "design" starting Win 7 (which I can't stand!). Strange! Weren't you the one who had recently upgraded? Allegedly.2 points

No. Defrag the drive or run from RAM disk. Unfortunately, only loading all needed files will get everything into the disk cache. Scanning the app folder should help. Try Dependency Walker (or ImportPatcher for 32-bit apps).1 point

Works for me – thank you for fixing the XP time zone anomaly. Ben. @roytam1 I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you for this wonderful fix. Everything related to local time, date, DST and time zone now works perfectly in my New Moon 28 browser. I also reverted the code of my Clock custom button, and now, it works as it should. Thanks!1 point
-
Confirmed! Tz Clock can no longer get the correct time zones in Mypal 68.14.0b.. I don't know to what extent the implementation of the lacking feature "Internationalization & Localization" that I reported to the issues of Mypal 68 here long time ago would change anything, If you want, you can report this extension to the Mypal 68's issues on GitHub. @feodor2 recently created a separate issue for extensions which stopped working due to his recent browser changes.1 point

Despite what the "Collaborator" wrote: "Many flags have been added from Ungoogled Chromium, with more planned in the future." https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/discussions/402#discussioncomment-8848901 People write there are "connections to google's servers" https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/discussions/402#discussion-6398329 Do you see the same in Thorium?1 point
-
I know some still keep saying those two aren't clones, but win32 already explained, all in details, to stop rumours and guesses about the "Ungoogled". https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/494#issuecomment-2067095394 "I am presently working on the --ungoogled-supermium switch, and an installer option to ensure that the browser is only run in this state if necessary. The --ungoogled-supermium switch is mostly based on ungoogled-chromium core patches, but with a few extras from me. At this time I verified that it does not open any connections (specifically, to regional Google CDNs) when launching the browser. However I have just noticed that the Chrome Web Store and YouTube are effectively rendered useless with my latest commit. I will probably retain this behaviour, but put in an opt-out for those who want to continue using those services."1 point

Stylus with the below works, but it seems odd that a "specific" instead of a "global" is required - body, body *, body h1, body h2, body h3, body h4, body h5, body h6, .MessageList .PageTitle>h1 {font-family: unset !important;}1 point
-
Without the need to install yet another extension, changing the font can be done with uBlock Origin as well. 🙂 I like the Noto Sans font (hinted). Apply this rule in uBO to apply to all elements in the page: forums.digitalspy.com##*:style(font-family: "Noto Sans" !important; src: local(Noto Sans) !important;) Another example. Have Google search results display in bold: google.com##H3:style(font-weight:bold !important;)1 point

Currently, MCP are running a Gitea-v1.21.11 instance on their repo server to develop their platform+browser: ... but that version of Gitea is already somewhat broken when used in MCP's platform/browsers ; e.g., just navigate to the Home page of the PM source repo: https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon and then try to download a tarball (or ZIP) of the source: It is impossible to perform any of the "More Operations" actions spawned when the ellipsis (...) button is clicked under UXP (latest NM28 tried), because they're not clickable/actionable-upon: ... the irony ; OTOH, I can use KMB (Chromium 87, released in mid-Nov 2020) to fetch that tarball (file "Pale-Moon-master.tar.gz") fine! ... Don't even get me started on HOW MUCH BROKEN Microsoft's "GitHub Web Client" is currently on UXP, all the more so for signed-in members ; GH on UXP is the reason that, since mid-Dec 2023, I practically abandoned my favourite (for many years) Serpent 52 for Kafan MiniBrowser (Cr87) and, at this time, also contemplating switching to either Supermium/Thorium ...1 point

Does not work! It is labeled as a "work in progress" but it doesn't seem to be doing ANYTHING that an UNGOOGLED browser should do. Easy test, with no open tabs, clear your cache and then go to clear it a second time. An UNGOOGLED browser will NEVER show this after you just cleared your cache and you've not yet visited ANY web site PLUS this is with a profile that HAS NO EXTENSIONS. A Chrome-based browser that is NOT "ungoogled" has a CONSTANT line of communication "open" with the Web Store.1 point

@genieautravail If 5 users will gether, okey next version will have SSE. What doesn't suit your already existing version, because new version is more bloated and likely has new errors. @AstroSkipper What about other things or this is happens only with Adguard, soon I shall make testing on P4 single core, @AstroSkipper@NotHereToPlayGames Multiprocess is not about cpu cores. Windows OS multiprocess itself since 1993 I think, and Intel 386 the first CPU which supports multiprocess. Also Firefox is not like Chrome here, they try be it latter at 100's, I think making every piece on the separate process is overkill. In general mp is good for performance, and stability too. If you have ar least 2gb ram prefer stay mp. Furthermore POSready updates installed everywhere on my side, never heard about issues with this.1 point

You can get the text back on Firefox 72 before whatever updated in the forum that broke compatibility, and Iron 109. For the MSFN links, when you paste the link, and the preview comes up, click the black banner that says to show only link. FYI, this issue still exists in Mypal 68.14.0b. Just tested. Nevertheless, thanks for your new update and the changes to JavaScript in terms of local time and time zone! The functions .toLocaleString(), .toLocaleDateString() and .toLocaleTimeString() are working great now.1 point
-
Just to summarise. Under the original Firefox ESR 52.9 new Date().toLocaleString(); always returns the correct time as shown on the system clock. It would appear that various forks, I am currently using Serpent v52.9.0 (2024-04-19) (32-bit), sometimes return the wrong time. · It is only wrong under Windows XP. · It is only wrong if XP is configured to automatically apply daylight saving AND there is a DST adjustment in force (e.g. British Summer Time). · The console's timestsamp is correct, it is only javascript that seems to return the wrong time. Incidently, something like: new Date().getHours() + ':' + new Date().getMinutes(); always returns the system time correctly, so it seems to be specifically toLocaleString() that has the problem. If the wrong time happened under both the original Firefox and the forks I would put it down to some Microsoft XP Api quirkiness but as the time is correct under the original Firefox this suggests that the forks have picked up some broken code – although it is perverse that it only seems to effect XP. I did, somewhat optimistically, try swapping out api-ms-win-core-timezone-l1-1-0.dll for the original Firefox version but it made no difference. Ben.1 point

I personally WANT a v114 !!! released of Thorium and Supermium. 114... 114... 114... I have ZERO need for v122 and ZERO need for chasing Chrome with the whatever update they release every five d#mn days or so. BOTH of these projects, IMHO, should revert to v114 !!! Only AFTER the kinks are worked out and v114 is STABLE should these developers start chasing Chrome's every five d#mn days update schedule.1 point

Well I'm stuck in a time-loop somewhere between the 80's and 90's (I'm not joking here) For some reason, even though I firmly believe live for today, most of "me" got left behind somewhere and I can not recapture it - maybe I shouldn't even try. Yep, the "old me" VS this existence of just existing rather than "Living". This isn't living! I DO really wish I could just say I was talking about computers and technology, but I really wish I had a time machine and I'd gladly go back and appreciate what I had; now, I have just 'this' with nothing to look forward to. So I carry on as best as possible, maybe that is what we all do, I don't know. Just saying whilst everything changes and everything comes to an end, where is this fresh start people speak of because I can't see it - gonna be 51 this summer and time is not my friend and I feel if I can't change my state of being I'll forever be stuck. Sorry guys if that was depressing - just been struggling as of late.1 point
