  1. I have just tested this old, unmodified version uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2. Some important lists don't seem to be updated anymore. They have replaced the current timestamp of some lists by a variable %timestamp% to prevent that the old uBlock Origin Legacy extensions show out of date warnings. Here is a screenshot containing the first part of the legacy internal list with the title uBlock filters: Therefore, without any timestamp, the user is not able to judge whether the list is relatively up-to-date or not.

  3. I have just investigated the last versions of the webextension uBlock Origin. The last version where the internal list is still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy is definitely uBlock Origin 1.49.2. Starting with version 1.50.0, there are incompatible entries inside which lead, for example, to the "Annoyances" bug and which I had to remove in my latest mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0.

  4. I kinda liked it, it's brutal and straight to the point, no chewing on snort.

  8. The predecessor of Bookmark Search Plus 2 from aaFn is Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus from White Alice0775. This extension can be found in the Classic Add-ons Archive: caa:addon/sidebar-bookmarks-search-plus The last version is Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus 2.0.1. You presumably have to adjust the maxVersion inside the install.rdf file. This extension is very old. So whether it is working in Serpent 52 or not, you will see then. I personally didn't test it. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  9. Thank you very much for testing! Glad to hear that my latest mod seems to be working for you. BTW, for me, too.

  10. Just make sure you don't pair up 1333FSB CPU with old chipset like 965. 1333FSB only works with Intel Q31 and up. https://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/whitepaper/316971.pdf

  11. I was surprised and happy to get a 0%, repeatedly, even though my IP was constant. Surprising it runs in NM28. I can;t run it in sp52. But that may be a function of the many tweaks in the profile (pointless to run these kinds of tests in a fresh profile). Interesting it did not recognize you by your IP, though. I take all these tests with a grain of salt, lemon and shot of tequila, anyway. To run them, I have to give them access I don't give any webpage, except my accounts in the e-oligopoly. I suspect they are giving me leeway to feel safe and go visit ok-ru more often, to learn my tastes and send my way their smartest bots to figure out my deepest desires and confess all me crimes, matey. Obviously they don't know the effects that poor distilled rum, and other stuff, can have on memory.

  12. @nicolaasjan I will create another, fixed version of my previous mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2 in the next few days and also offer here. The internal list inside that version was still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy when I created it. So everyone can decide for themselves how up-to-date they want to be.

  15. My guess would be, it's nothing out of the ordinary, the site is just trying to survive due to the fact of zero donations. It's just an ad.

  16. An actors' social site IMDB is also paywalled since quite some time ago. They run a script to show their subscription window and then the site blocks the browser.

  17. I have revised my opinion a little, as the list is apparently still being updated despite the unrecognisable timestamp.

  18. It predates that Frankenstein UI that is Australis. Edit: Never mind, should work on Serpent 52, at least does on clean profile. maxVersion is enforced only when strictCompatibility is enabled.

  19. Thank you for looking into this! For now, I reverted back to uBlock0_1.16.4.31b2.firefox-legacy with "uBlock₀ filters – Quick fixes" added in "Custom". No ads any more. Btw, here is a special adblock test video. [Edit] I didn't see your comment above until now, because I replied to an older post. I noticed the %timestamp% as well, but didn't realize what it implied... [Edit2] I still have a very recent entry of 2 days ago in my "uBlock filters" list here: ! https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/21690 xhardhempus.net##+js(no-setTimeout-if.js, adblock)

  20. If you don't mind my asking, which medications? If you'd rather that in a PM or rather not say, I understand. I don't have depression but I do have Agoraphobia and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I've lived with it for 20+ years. 10 years ago it was horrible and debilitating but I have found coping mechanisms and meds (I've been on them all) that help. In the past, I used alcohol as a self med but that was a complete disaster. As of Dec 31, 2023, I am 12 years sober. I am sure you don't know me but in all sincerity, I pray peace visits you often. 24. from my limited testing, uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0 seems to be working in my latest NM27 build (by lowering minVersion to 27.10.0)

  25. (off-topic) You should originally thank Maroc (at My Digital Life forum) for this, as he's the user who ported a new version of MPC-HC to XP, but you're welcome, and I am glad that MPC-HC performs faster than VLC in your case.

  27. Yes, it is present there too but it points to the old internal list for uBlock Origin Legacy which is not updated since 2018. That is the reason you won't notice any changes of available filter lists in this version. Therefore, it works as long these filter lists still exist and are updated on a regular base. Just a reminder, the reason for creating modded versions of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 apart from initial display errors in the dashboard was the performance problems while updating the selected filter lists and to get the more recent filter lists which were only offered by the webextensions of uBlock Origin. @nicolaasjan If uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 is sufficient for you and still working, use it! I will check this version once again the next days.

  28. Yes, it is present there too but it points to the old internal list for uBlock Origin Legacy which is not updated since 2018 except a change by JustOff with the commit message "Force the syntax converter for additional filter lists" two years ago. That is the reason you won't notice any changes of available filter lists in this version. Therefore, it works as long these filter lists still exist and are updated on a regular base. PS: That means patching the code for self-updating the internal list is not really necessary in the untouched version 1.16.4.31b2. It cannot get the most recent but incompatible list anyway.

  29. Thanks again @dmiranda and don't feel compelled to reply on New Years Eve - I know you're busy - whenever you get around to it is just fine All good with FontAwesome 4.7 and I DID run through your user.js and did decide for other sites to take your advice and set to true. So I'm allowing downloadable fonts, then, user_pref("gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled", false); // set *-* -change back to true user_pref("gfx.downloadable_fonts.woff2.enabled", false); // set *-* -change back to true <OT> I did a little worse surprisingly on that test given to use by the great @Sampei.Nihira (we appreciate you here my good man) and as you can see, that test site thinks I only visited the site 1 time with NM28 when of course that would be 3 times including Mypal68 as I'm now posting from NM28 and that is what the picture depicts. <OT> PS: Same IP

  30. Generally, you will be fine, as long as don't visit a country which is openly hostile. For example, France is a friendly place, very friendly and open, we just tend to keep our preferences to ourselves. When planning your vacation, it's advisable to check the warnings regarding that. I think it's safe to assume - you will be good in Western Europe.

  40. Hello, it's Saxon, not Saxxon. I don't think they make them with 1tb platters, it would be a jet, too noisy, hot and vibrating. Those what they call "high capacity" are 2TB platters. About the controller chip, I'm not sure I read all, did he say his enclosure has one or two chips? Sorry, if I missed. There are two types of enclosures. The most "evil" are with two chips.

  42. That's why I wanted to hear other opinions. But there's a thing, I can confirm, all versions of Comodo (XP ones, too) will glitch out, if the rules list is too long. "The bug is that Comodo cannot handle long list of HIPS rules and will suddenly delete them all without notice."

  45. No, I just meant that the alternative forms of viewing other people’s thoughts online outside of social media are small time forums or blog sites that are usually behind a paywall. Especially news sites. Continuing from this, the whole idea that people get where they want to increase their value exponentially is to what I believe the reason many good things don’t last. If you set your sights on a realistic expectation, a goal that fits your needs rather than making billions just because you can, then you won’t drown in the thoughts of economic loopholes and consistently exploiting your customers for just pennies more per day. If you can be happy with what you have and not be greedy and selfish, then that is a big help towards keeping you and your products healthy and afloat. There are some exceptions though, like a situation where you are able to price your products out and make billions (Apple), but that’s mostly because the American culture nearly revolves around them. Social media can exist if they didn’t fall into these traps and maintained a strict trust and safety team. You’re moderating mostly losers in their parents basement on social media, you can’t let them just roam free.

  46. Dear guru AstroSkipper, hello! Would you be so kind to tell your opinion about Comodo Varanus FW, I don't see it in either of you lists (good-bad). Would it be polite to trouble you for such a personal advice, just a couple of words really, use-not use, thank you! PS. As always, can't get enough of your amazing software compilation! I can't even imagine how much hard work is in it!
