  1. Version numbers don't say much in roytam1's world, at least in the following 3 browsers, it's the date that's more important. Upstream Basilisk directly uses date for version number, but for these forks, from my understanding: Serpent 52.9.0 - browser like Firefox 52.9.0 ESR + updates by the MCP New Moon 28 - browser like "new" Pale Moon New Moon 27 - browser like "old" Pale Moon BTW, I noticed actual Firefox 52.9.0 has more animations in GUI, like when you click the downloads button, popup animates into place. Similar the popup of uBlock Origin extension when you click its button. Is this enablable in any descendent browser? This site tries to, among other things, create over 16 WebGL contexts! Intentionally or due to its code crapping out? While doing less than new browsers, as you pointed out. Haven't tried the user agent on newer browser, but actual Firefox 52.9.0 doesn't seem to work with Facebook.

  2. @WSC4! That's not going to work. Why are you trying to access the url http://update.microsoft.com/? This is not the correct link and will only end in an error page. Did you read the whole documentation? Here is a link: Under point 18, you will find the links you need to call up: http://fe2.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=e or http://fe2.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en&g_sconsumersite=1 But I recommend to read the whole documentation first to avoid further problems. Using this method to access MU/WU means that all components have to be configured 100% correctly. And please note that I have written my instructions mainly for Windows XP 32-bit! This means that a few steps can be skipped under Windows XP 64-bit. But you will realise this if you read everything carefully. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  3. Something I've long advocated for official Firefox, Chrome/ium, Edge, etc. Enough already with these silly "my version number is bigger than yours" wars! All it accomplishes is a "new" version every few weeks that barely differs from the previous one, except of course for whatever Googlisms or Mozilla-isms someone decided CSS or Javascript just had to have added this month.

  4. @j7n, you're welcome ! Well , the next driver you could try is 362.00. Expect some performance degradation , it is slower than 347.xx. I would say , 347.xx was a major breakthrough after 321.xx . Then ,somewhat OK, was 362.00 or 361.91 (even better!) , then a whole lot of very poor drivers . The only good driver after that was 373.19 (OEM) . But no support for Server or XP in it , sadly. If you're not afraid for your card (some say it ruined their card) , try 364.xx as the last resort . I never had any problems with them . But I'm not responsible.

  9. Solution for the error code 0x80244004 while accessing the WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy If getting error code 0x80244004 while accessing the WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy, one should check or perform step 11 of my complete guide for restoring IE's access to WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy in Windows XP. It has to be verified the existence of the patched file wuaueng.dll in the corresponding folders I mentioned in my guide. Be aware of SFC which tries to restore an original, old version of this file! After patching, restart your computer and check again! Now, the WU/MU website should finally work if there are of course no other errors. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  12. I already told you, that 398.11 driver you ask about was made by win32 and it worked for me. This topic is about absolutely different driver !!! Please create another topic and discuss the issues related to another driver in another topic, thanks ! @Dave-H, could you please move absolutely unreated duscussions and questions about (not mine) 398.11 somewhere else ? Thank you. EDIT: Why do we need to do it ? Otherwise some may mistakingly assume the troubles belong to my driver.
    2 points
  13. You misunderstood what I wrote - the 398.11 should work with the first GDDR5 revision ! I checked myself that driver. But then again, it's better if win32 consults you regarding his driver.

  15. Hi there. About superstop, very nice. It cuts the crap out of "social media" very fast. I tweak mypal (and sp52) with user.js tricks, however, so the actual gain is for me marginal. I actually prefer Tab reloader (0.6.1). It fails to import settings (with my tweaked user.js set up), but if you enter your settings manually (AND SAVE), it seems to do the trick. The same applies to sp52. For what I understand, this addon uses workers to fight again workers that keep sucking resources in the background. It works in my set up. My settings in the picture. They prevent refreshing and widgeting and attempting to sniff data all the time, very very effectively, allowing me to work on multiple tabs iwthout exhausting resources to a freezing point. Now, I can surf in style, even without multiprocess on. I will report back on that, later. PS: I have also managed to solve (well, it solved itself) an issue I had making user.js work. I started rebuilding profiles from scratch (in sp52 and mypal), and suddenly it started working, which makes life so much easier. Cheers!

  18. Unfortunately not. It is 32-bit. I knew this when I ran DreamMail Pro under a Windows 7 x64 VM, and it said *32 next to DreamMail.exe in Task Manager.

  21. It makes perfect sense that Firefox 52 could be faster than Serpent 52 (I have not personally tested). When it comes to browsers, it is VERY COMMON for OLDER browsers to be faster. And technically, Serpent 52 is not really "52". It's more like "52 and three fourths". Just as one example, Firefox does not support "nullish coalescing operator" until version 72 -- https://caniuse.com/mdn-javascript_operators_nullish_coalescing But despite Serpent being only "52", my Serpent 52 dated 2023-07-31 [I run an older version intentionally] does support "nullish coalescing operator". So by that operator alone, we are not 52 but 72. But what else can 72 do that 52 cannot? So we cannot really call it 72. So "52 and three fourths". Although, if you look at the about screen, we don't really call it 52... we call it 52.9.0. So "52 and nine tenths".

SciTE can hold multiple files in memory at one time but only one file will be visible. Features include: Options to allow searching for words, regular expressions, matching case, in the reverse direction, wrapping around the end of the document. Buffers. Sessions. Default key bindings. Bookmarks. Multiple selection. Code Folding – a code block can be folded (and made invisible) with a click of the mouse. LUA scripting for extensibility. Virtual space. Provides syntax support for many computer languages including: Ada, Assembler, C, C++, C#, Eiffel, Erlang, Fortran, HTML, Java, LISP, Lua, Matlab, Metapost, Objective Caml, Octave, Pascal, Perl, PostScript, Python, Ruby, Rust, Scheme, Smalltalk, XML and YAML. https://www.linuxlinks.com/SciTe/

  25. The 1st reason D.Draker has remained silent because he's busy with his life, making money, staying fit and healthy, real-time helping the world to be cleansed of filth. In other words, everything that a normal man would want to do with his life. I wonder why you not? But don't doubt, D.Draker's like a higher power up from the above - he sees everything. You've claimed to live in Miami. So, is it a complete boredom, so you the only thing that is left for you is to constantly praise Russia? Be on your guard, one can easily assume you live in a Siberian basement, not Miami. The 2nd reason D.Draker has remained silent because he is not interested in any further attempts to explain to you that Russia simply has no independent civilian software. It's all under military umbrella, including Kaspersky. Oh, and I'm touched you're worried about my warnings!

  35. From what I know , there were two versions of GT1030 (at least two). The first (original issue) had GDDR5 memory, the second more advanced piece of crap - GDDR4 memory - cheap gimped VRAM. And it was released after the 398.11 came out , hence the distortions you see, but it's just a hunch. So you still can't find win32 ? Why we just don't tag him then ? @win32, be a dear, please consult the guy regarding your driver, I already wrote him it worked for me with my GT1030.

  37. I did not release 398.11, this tutorial is about absolutely different driver (which is shown on the first page along with the supported devices). That's why you don't see that link ! The driver you are talking about was made by win32, I don't know where you got it, so all questions regarding that driver are to him and *apparently* not in this topic. EDIT: do you know how to find him ? The user screen name is win32. And, BTW, his driver worked for me with G1030. But it is not fully finished (no NVCPL).

  38. This is actually very, very strange, your questions. The setup.exe is inside of the package. The moderators can download and see for themselves. The download link leads to the legit MS website ! Maybe you have the Kaspersky AV that is well-known for blocking the legit files from Microsoft ? Or: I'm just guessing here, you have downloaded another (not mine) driver made by win32 ? In that case, this question is to him. Or: Just a hint - you can install any driver by using only its .inf file from the device manager !

  39. I don't think it is a good idea to use patch + proxy and nginx method together on the same system. These methods weren't meant to work in coexistence. Some of the listed methods can coexist but unfortunately not all of them. You will probably have to choose one of these two methods.

  43. SuperStop SuperStop stops background requests and animations even when the Stop button is disabled. SuperStop is very simple: it adds a Shift+Esc shortcut (configurable) and a toolbar button that stop active WebSocket connections, JS timers, XMLHttpRequests, and any animated images and videos, regardless of the state of the Stop button. This extension I recommend for all users of Mypal 68 whose computer is low on system resources. A click onto the toolbar button, for example, stops immediately the animation of all loaded GIF images without reloading the page, and the CPU load is back to normal subsequently. Absolutely great!
