  1. This is true 100% of the time. There is a 50% chance that today's weather will be exactly like yesterday's weather.

  2. Not necessarily. There are some weather sites that have radar and maps that require WebGL, which I disable by default in my releases. So yes, weather questions are allowed as some users may not know how to enable WebGL.

  6. Ok! So if users can't get the current weather forecast in 360 Chrome and don't know how to get these sites to work in this browser, do not hesitate to ask our weatherman @NotHereToPlayGames. He will get the necessary information for you.

  8. Doesn't that make you afraid of drowning instead of afraid of water? When a waitress walks around with a pitcher of ice water to refill your glass, do you hide under the table and tremble in fear? waka waka waka Kind of like not being agraid of heights but being afraid of falling and hitting the pavement. If I had half a million lying around, sure, I'd go for it.

  10. Can happen. That day has not come for me either few more years I'd be surprised if the hardware is still going. If I were to get something new (to me) I'd be willing to stick with windows and try 11 but would need to make sure I wasn't giving away too much, although, don't know what that means to me and I, I don't know, not much to get or give away, I'm an 'open book'.

  11. Hi all and merry X-mass, I got bored and with the help of @Dixel and some amount of inspiration I sometimes get from @win32, I butchered the latest Opera 96 (110) to make it run on our beloved Vista ! This chinese browser Opera is based on the newest Chrome 110, which is officially supported only on Win 10 +. Also, I forced it to use its native hardware Skia engine 110. (which is now blocked on win 7 by default). For those who still drive their Sd.Kfz.8, Opera 95 and Chrome 109 are the last for win 7, so as of now, win 7 and the extended kernel for Vista are not able to run the 110 Chrome version. Please don't ask me about running it on WIn 7, I don't know (or won't tell) anything. In theory, it's possible for win 7 to run it. But only if you edit the browser code. (which is forbidden). Only Vista related questions. Thanks. Opera EULA says we can't edit their code, so I shall share my hacks/findings with @win32 and maybe he will be able to implement this in his next kernel release, so all of you could run it without the editing hacks.

  16. AI-GENERATED ART Artist Jan Robert Leegte (b. 1973) has recently explored the overwhelming nature of AI-generated worlds with Performing a Landscape (2020), a live installation comprising a storm-soaked landscape generated in front of the eyes of the public. Screens and projections offer a fragmented experience of the virtual landscape, leaving the viewer terrorized and disorientated by apparently preternatural forces. The spectator’s perspective is that of one submerged underwater, “safe” from the ensuing cataclysm overhead... From: https://flash---art.com/2021/01/episode-iv-ai-generated-worlds/ Midjourney – Art-making AI on the Rise (Create Images from Text) If I saw this a few years ago, I wouldn’t believe my eyes. Art-making robot generating astounding concept art from your text prompt, in seconds. Something BIG is happening! I spent a few days playing with Midjourney beta: https://www.midjourney.com/ (have generated more than 1000 images and burned quite a few bucks!). Can’t wait to share the crazy results with you – oh and also a quick Midjourney tutorial. Warning: there are a few potentially disturbing images (AI can generated some really weird stuff). Links -on the home page... Examples of Images Generated from Text: (My experiments with Midjourney, most of the prompts can be found in the video, open images in the new tab to see the full res version). 19. No, you're right... Ignore the size difference, that just has to do with how I did it, but looking at the actual font, they are exactly the same with or without it checked. So I'll leave it checked for Chrome.

  20. I've not seen any forum that has an actual block option the way most people seem to be thinking about it. The best member-relation options I have ever seen were actually on old battle.net where your options were mute (don't see their posts) and squelch (they don't see your posts). Forum ignore basically will "hide" a post from a user that is on your list, but you should still see that they have posted. Some forum ignore can prevent a person from sending you a PM, or writing on your profile, if such a thing exists. Unfortunately, forum staff can't really test the ignore function outside of impersonation, since we aren't allowed to block anyone and no one is allowed to block us but I think that is automatically handled by the forum.

  25. That being the case (chrome was not meant for NT5.1) I've not had this BSOD with 360 V11 or 13 or 13.5. Not ever because I don't use hardware acceleration (gpu / wasm / webgl), this computer is way past its prime and the other Dell Dimension 3000 is not even usable at all with anything anymore unless I'm in no hurry. I'm just grateful it is still working at all and I don't want new things ... including my clothing as I prefer used goodwill clothing and shoes that have already been 'broken in'.

  27. The only BSODs I have had were caused by the 360Chrome browsers in conjunction with WiseVector StopX. Otherwise, I haven't had a single BSOD in years. Nevertheless, I am not at all surprised that most comments about BSODs in MSFN are found in connection with Windows XP which is the most modified and patched OS ever, full of ported and forked software. Just think of all existing system patches, the experiments with the ACPI.sys file, modified drivers and so on. Anyway! I used the 360Chrome browsers with rebased chrome.dll intensively the last weeks, without any further BSODs in my system. But one thing is crystal clear. The 360Chrome Browsers v13.5 have a Chromium engine 86 which was actually never meant to run on Windows XP. Therefore, BSODs do not really surprise me.

  28. I think same as first release of SP2 x64 Small updates of ntoskrnl.exe doesn't change .h fields Fields usual changed between sevice packs, so almost files recompiled because kernel offset changes W2003 x64 rtm headers from leak are too old, we need WRK() as base and additional patches to match SP2 kernel I suprised why WRK is not same as SP2, official description: p.s. WRK is 2003 SP1 sources

  30. structs_acpi.txt - compiled structs (KTHREAD already reverted) structs_kernel.txt - structs from real ntkrnlmp.exe 5.2.3790.3959 most important kernel things match(TEB/PEB//ETHREAD/KTHREAD), but need to look at all structs_acpi.txt structs_kernel.txt p.s. many kernels structs missed at structs_kernel.txt(.pdb is not full), so this is not 100% way to find mismatches

  32. It will till a new ssl /tls update releases and break https , like in windows 7 you need to install root certs update or when microsoft spy domain changes A good way to stop spying is to set telemetry to basic only and delete some uwp apps using powershell
    1 point
  33. The only sure way is to not use them at all. There are ways to fight telemetry (e.g. O&O shutup Windows 10 - a helpful program) but you can never be sure that your system isn't "leaking".

  34. My plans are for a fully ungoogled (including removing "Translate to English" as it requires googleapis not otherwise needed for "web surfing"). But then provide instructions/links to "restore" something like "Translate to English" or non-XP skin or non-ungoogled.

  35. hello NotHereToPlayGames , good to see the new thread. can we expect a v13.5.2022 regular and ungoogled version as before ? you know i modified the ungoogled chrome.dll back to regular and would like to keep "Translate to English". also nice to see that the win 10 skin is still in play.

  38. The excessive use of words like "evil", "crap", "god", et cetera is extremely nagative and toxic to the environment, in my humble opinion. I intentionally "404'd" all download links about a week ago or so (and is also why I have not uploaded my most recent resources.pak and options.zip). The negativity had/has me seriously pondering my future here at MSFN - again, this started as a project for ME to solve MY needs at the time, it was not to set out and be the next roytam1. There is a need for this project to continue. We are all intelligent and knowledgeable and assist at times we have the time to do so - but do our "positive" days act as a balance to offset our "negative" days? No, not in my opinion! You only get one chance to make a first impression. No amount of "positive" any of us ever does should be in the back of the mind of any moderator thinking "ignore the negative, s/he posts positives also". We have a lot of "alpha dogs" here and they (sometimes even me) think the world revolves around said "alpha dogs" and their topics and posts. I do not have any answer on how to resolve said "atmosphere". Most here just add the "negative" posters to their "ignore list" (and moderators even suggest this approach). Okay, "having said that" and being generally "solutions-oriented", I am hereby abandoning this thread. roytam1 has the "power" to request his threads be locked and I would request the very same for this thread - please lock this thread. v11, v12, and v13 should be considered abandonware. I have removed them from my Dropbox and all links are "404'd". v13.5 build 2022 shall be considered the only version that I am still "involved" in. This thread has reached 130 pages and has "served its purpose". We can lock this thread for use as "reference", but I do not see the need to keep this thread "alive". v11 and v12 lack too much funtionality in the "modern" web to devote any time to "going forward". v13 and v13.5 are too "identical" to warrant maintaining both. I'll start another thread for continued discussions on v13.5 build 2022. Let's please all respect each other and stay positive and that thread should serve a better purpose "to infinity and beyond".

  42. You didn't put the model for the system. DDG seems to indicate that it is S01-pF1013w, and if so then the maximum amount of RAM supported by the board is 32 GB (2x 16 GB) https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c06696087 https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c06678632

  43. OK, after some searching I've found directly from M$ that the "physical" ram limits for Win-10 home is 128 gb vs 2 TB for Pro. I don't know how it's even possible to generally have more than what, 64 gb of installed ram in your "average" desktop computer. So basically there is no real distinction in terms of max installed ram when you're looking at Home vs Pro. This is a big difference compared to Win-7. M$ created more low-budget versions of Win-7. Win-7 "Starter" was limited to 2 gb and was only x86. Win-7 home basic (x64) was limited to 8 gb and Home premium (x64) was limited to 16 gb.
