  2. @win32 @Mov AX, 0xDEAD I tried to use the Windows 7 version of Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver (which has blue and white control panel window color) on Windows Vista Extended Kernel with NTOSKRNL Emu_Extender and some modifications. I have successfully installed it through Device Manager driver update. And it turns out that it has worked partially. OpenGL and DX11 work perfectly without glitches, also the driver has no problem at all in Device Manager, but DX9 causes BEX64 related crashes. And until now I still cannot enjoy the Aero theme and play videos using Windows Media Player (because they need DX9 to work properly). The control panel itself also won't open (BEX64 crashing) unless if I renamed or moved out the igdumdim64.dll file from System32 folder and igdumdim32.dll file from SysWOW64 folder. And when I am trying to show the information center page from Options and Support menu, the control panel crashes with code 0xc0000096 (STATUS_PRIVILEGED_INSTRUCTION)

  3. All pointless since none of those features work on XP. Chromium requires D3D9Ex (Vista+) at minimum to enable certain GPU dependent features. I wasn't paying attention to video playback when changing the ANGLE flag in Chromium, but it's useful for those viewing/interacting with various WebGL content as some things render faster with one API, other with another. D3D9 can only do simpler content while the rest can support all graphical features.

  7. The file involved with the new tab was completely removed. The browser just assumes it is just an empty website and unfortunately I can't change that default behavior. Cheers.

  9. I get the white screen on MyPal, too. I haven't installed 360chrome on this new machine to see if it works there, but I'd guess it might (edit: got the new ArcticFoxie chrome and it works there). You can still use the "webogram" web version on Github that's linked by Telegram on their Apps page, but the features are more limited (no secret chats, for example).

  10. I certainly do like it, thanks for maintaining it. Will there be a newer update pack released? I will create a slipstream version and do a fresh install. Thanks for the clarification on using the ADDONS. What version of Nlite free should I install, or is the registered version required? I will update the files with "Update for RVMI and nLite".

  11. Please update the RVMI Plugins too. Fix the problem. The nLite file extraction has the same problem. Update for RVMI and nLite https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oEEaPXKSnV2i9hk2zaZyA0CKPKnldM-4/view?usp=share_link

  13. New York City is launching a program to forcibly remove dangerous mentally ill people from the city streets Daniel Payne ··Nov 29, 2022 · NottheBee.com You know it's getting really bad if New York is doing this: Mayor Eric Adams announced a major effort on Tuesday to remove people with severe, untreated mental illness from the city's streets and subways, saying New York had "a moral obligation" to address "a crisis we see all around us." The effort will involve hospitalizing people involuntarily, even if they do not pose an immediate risk of harm to others. "The common misunderstanding persists that we cannot provide involuntary assistance unless the person is violent," Mr. Adams said. "This myth must be put to rest. Going forward, we will make every effort to assist those who are suffering from mental illness and whose illness is endangering them by preventing them from meeting their basic human needs." This is a good plan — New York, like many large, Democratic-controlled American cities, is getting to be an exceedingly dangerous place to live. More than a few people, meanwhile, are unhappy with this proposal: look on original link here: https://notthebee.com/article/new-york-city-is-launching-a-program-to-forcibly-remove-dangerous-mentally-ill-people-from-the-city-streets

  15. Then it must me something wrong with your system. Because win 8.1 must have them by default ! win 8.1 has its native USB3.0 drivers. This is the official statement from Intel. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005537/software/chipset-software.html Windows* 8, Windows* 8.1, and Windows® 10 have a native in-box USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 driver. Intel isn't releasing a specific Intel® USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10. Those I gave you, are only meant to upgrade the existing/native win 8.1 drivers.

  17. You'd probably have to attempt building it yourself using the source available, but keep in mind that they monitor users accessing Telegram wit unnoficial clients iirc (though it might not count as unofficial if it's just the source code?). If you have a newer browser that allows desktop notifications, you can use the browser version at https://web.telegram.com to simulate the same experience. For older browsers that only get a white screen when accessing the website, you can try the legacy web version that they link at https://github.com/zhukov/webogram (this is linked to by Telegram despite the strange github url), which may possibly have the same "new user" problem. If you are interested in attempting a build, there is a semi-guide on building C++ apps for XP and earlier here: https://building.enlyze.com/posts/modern-visual-studio-meets-ancient-windows/

  18. I found this small tool and was planning to just dump it here in case anyone needs it... I didn't check it in XP, but since the source is provided, i guess it could be recompiled easily. P.S. make sure to check the other projects on that site too.

  20. I've been called a lot of things, but smart isn't one of them. I barely graduated high school with learning disabled classes and I didn't learn anything because I was lumped with other that were severely disabled, but it was the 70's and 80's and they didn't know what to do with folks such as I, had they been more patient, I think I'd have done better, but oh well, many of my graduation class took their own lives from what I was told. Very sad! I'm here and I try, all I can say and I mean well. I guess I carried it with my that I'm dumb as a rock. It could've gone worse ... much worse, and I agree, posting about it isn't healthy for me. I need to be more "grateful" and "positive". I'm "true" and "kind" but not always kind to myself; and that I need to be more "mindful" of.

  22. NO! It's not the TRUTH! Your inputs are full of sense as always, no problem to understand you. The sentences are well written in English, exactly translate your thoughts, are interesting. Stop looking for the bad sides - which are ABSENT. Finally believe in yourself. Don't send us such bad thoughts ever, please. No more, never. Please.

  23. Rep doesn't mean anything, so it doesn't matter if people are farming rep or not. The reason it is here is because it is on by default from the forum software. It is not worth the effort to turn it off, since (as stated) it doesn't mean anything.

  25. This may be of interest. John Haller says: I've been working on ensuring that links to legacy versions of our apps at PortableApps.com are available for a bit. After reading through a bit of the XP compatible software topic and the recent What does your XP looks like in 2022? topic, I thought I'd consolidate it a bit more and formalize it. I created a Windows XP/Vista Compatible App Versions, Adding To The App Directory topic over in the PA.c forums to track it. I've added a new entry in our listings to link to legacy builds for our apps setup in a way that they install alongside the current versions (ex: HexChatPortableLegacyWinXP) and won't be affected by the PA.c Platform's updater. If there's a PA.c Format app that's missing or an app where we released it after XP/Vista were dropped and you'd like a build of it, drop a post in our forum topic or here and I'll add it to the list to get it put together for interested folks. If there's enough interest, I may put together a legacy PA.c Suite and/or add it to our app store. https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25941
