The dislike counter has only briefly disappeared for me, about 5 days ago. Seems like they are doing A/B testing as usual. I do wonder if Invidious will continue to fetch them once the feature is actually removed from official YouTube clients.2 points

Confirmed here, using Serpent 52.9.0; it would appear their web player has been optimised for recent browser engines only, because player-related scripts they serve make UXP choke , due to unsupported regexp: FWIW, I had no issues logging-in to either google.com/youtube.com with Serpent 52.9.0 (so, not with NM28 ); St52 has a built-in SSUAO for google, general.useragent.override.google.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0 Basilisk/52.9.0 which, I firmly believe, is the reason I didn't get the "not secure browser" message/error...2 points

Hi No way to watch videos on bitchute with all uxp versions of Roytam1. The only way that works is to use the Palemoon or Basilisk "PmPlayer" add-on which works well with bitchute to view videos using Serpent 52 and Newmoon 28.1 point

How to Install & Configuration Windows Live Messenger In 2021/2022 Tutorial The Ultimate Guide to the Escargot Chat Service! Link to download all versions of the program On Friday, 31st October, 2014, Microsoft's MSN Messenger service, then known as Windows Live Messenger, breathed its final breath. Personally, I was devastated. I bet millions of other people were, too! Do you long for the days when you'd run home from school, fire up your PC and sign straight into MSN to chat with your friends? Do you pine for those cute emojis and winks? Do you wish you could just have one more water balloon fight? Oh, and what about those sounds? Well, cry no more, my nostalgic friends! I've found the perfect solution! It's known as Escargot Chat! Escargot provides virtually all the things you loved back in those classic days, only on a different server. On the escargot site, you can download the instant Messaging clients you knew and loved back then, but they have been patched so that they connect to Escargot's constantly active servers rather than the dead servers of their original owners. They're exactly the same clients with all their original features, but they've just been slightly modified to connect to a different server. Downsides Those still using Windows XP might have difficulties signing into MSN versions higher than version 3 through Escargot in the form of an 80048821 error. this is not an issue with Escargot per se, but rather it is an issue with the way the patched MSN Messenger clients authenticate themselves with their servers. Fortunately, I have found a way to defeat this error!. If you're using Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, however, everything should work fine. Right now, Windows Live Messenger 2011 and 2012 are not available through Escargot. Hopefully, though, support for these clients will come in the very near future. Yahoo! Messenger 5.0 and 5.5, as well as versions of MSN Messenger prior to 5.0, use an insecure password encryption method. This means they might not be viable options for those who are paranoid about data security. On 15th November, 2020, Escargot Chat was updated to include support for the aforementioned Yahoo! Messenger, as a result, Accounts created before this date were given a random string of letters and numbers that serve as their username for Yahoo! Messenger. Unfortunately, however, these long, unfriendly usernames can't be changed at this time. Sadly, video chatting over Windows Live Messenger cannot be done through Escargot yet. I certainly hope this feature is added, though, as it was one of my favourite features of Live Messenger back in the day. The only versions of Yahoo! Messenger that are available through Escargot right now are 5.0 and 5.5. How do I sign up? First, visit this link to go to the Escargot registration page. Tab to the email address field and type your email address. Remember, it can be any email address! Tab to the password field and type a password. Make sure that you use a strong password with upper case (capital) letters, lower case letters and numbers. If you just use you're dog's name, you'll know doubt be hacked straight away. This applies to any online account you create, not just Escargot! During the registration procedure, you can decide to enable support for Yahoo! Messenger and older MSN versions prior to version 5.0. Just remember that these frontends use MD5 hashing, which is an insecure encryption method! Finally, click the create account button. Your registration is now complete! Bring it back to life! Now you've registered your account, it's time to perform the revival procedure! Visit the Escargot download page to download an IM client in your language. If you remember what client you used to use, you can download that one, or something close to it. I have a Windows XP virtual machine with Windows Live Messenger 8.5 from 2007, and installed on my physical Windows 7 PC is Windows Live Messenger 2009. I never used 2009 as a child, but I like to try and be as era appropriate as I can. Sign in with the email address and password you used when registering your account. If all your credentials are correct, you should be signed in and have full access to the Escargot Chat network! It's alive! It's alive! Please note that when installing an MSN/WLM client, I don't recommend checking any other installation boxes, such as the MSN toolbar or the Windows Live Sign-in assistant. Just leave the shortcuts option checked. It just keeps the clutter down and provides faster access to the client.1 point

There goes 90+ percent of users on any "social media" platform! Ten-second attention spans that accept as true without a shred of "thought" and click a d@mn "like" button then move on to their next ten-second span of attention.1 point

Of course. Nobody should accept a statement as true without careful analysis of all presented arguments. I don't see how untruths could harm an informed viewer significantly. How are you guys watching YouTube videos lately? Since a few months ago, download speeds with YT-DL have been cut to 50-85 kB/s, and watching in real time with media players is no longer possible. I tried going to the website. Jesus, some channels have advertisements every 5 minutes, and cut the narrator mid sentence. And it is sometimes the most "harmful content" about sports betting, and how to effortlessly make impossible amounts of money.1 point

I actually would say we need both "false" information and "real" information and user need to make their own decisions based on arguments. World is full of examples where information first accused false has been true at end. I want my belief to be questioned properly because if I can still argue against it properly can assume it is correct.1 point

There are too many missing functions to think about copying over the 6519 HAL. And there is another consideration to make. Several pointers to HAL functions are loaded into two dispatch tables in ntoskrnl at boot. These replace various stubs and other functions, and allow ntoskrnl (and other drivers) to call the HAL without explicitly importing the functions. The main TSC synchronization function is inserted into the table and called by various functions in ntoskrnl. I will have to check that out.1 point

<OT> Said so very very well; @Mathwiz... please don't assume all people that are struggling with mental/cognitive health issues/disabilities are all mean spirited people. Its more about how those of us that struggle outwardly (may perhaps) take it out on other people and chose to make others suffer as a way to cope. Trust me ... and I'm saddened to have to say such, but being on the "Spectrum" often times reveals said persons true personality and lack of compassion and empathy; but that doesn't mean bitterness and self hatred can't be changed. First hand: I can say, life has dealt some of us a 'bad hand' ... but how we chose to play that hand in life is what counts towards making the best to becoming a human being that others can still find endearing. People can change their behaviors, but only if they (truly) desire to do so. <OT>1 point

It does, particularly for the sufferers; but we shouldn't leave the impression that everyone on the autism spectrum is a narcissistic jerk like we-all-know-who. For a while, I was updating browsers weekly, but more out of fear that we-know-who would do to @roytam1 what they did to @feodor2, and I wanted to have my own copy of the last versions he created. Now that it seems Roytam will continue to the best of his ability regardless of them, I only update when I need a new feature or fix. But I agree with the sentiment, and I'm afraid that once again, the fault lies with Google. Can you think of any other product willing to brand its latest product "version 95?" Well, other than Windows 95, of course, but that was named after the year it came out - it's not as if Micro$oft couldn't get it right in their first 94 tries! (Unfortunately Mozilla has copied Google in this, along with so many other things. I remember the "good ol' days" when browser versions had decimal points, like every other software product....)1 point

@Tomcat76: Have you tried to update CTR v1.6.9.1 to the Basilisk-specific version 1.7.8.2019.10.27 ? https://github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/releases/tag/1.7.8.2019 I'm not seeing the AOM breakage you report (still on St52 2021-10-08 here); it probably has to do with an extension/setting of yours that affects the AOM; does it happen on a fresh St52 profile, after installing a test extension? if not, the culprit exists within your current, dirty, profile... Sadly, I have to leave now for a few hours, thus not able to offer anything more substantial as help...1 point

These browsers also run on my main OS Windows 2003, and I use them under Windows 7 too for convenience, familiar interface, included video decoder, removed anti-features, and various small fixes. Everytime I posted on the XP forum because that is where most people were, I expected to be kicked out for off-topic because I don't have WinXP anymore. Recently YouTube changed something, which doesn't allow to go directly to Subscriptions from New Moon 28. A white page appears, and I must click the sidebar. Serpent still goes to Subscriptions, with a longer delay.1 point

I believe I wrote about 6519, the first build of 7 x64 to have leaked in terms of a complete fix. There was a partial fix for Vista in that time (some of the timer discrepancies were fixed but not all). I am not sure which update introduced it, as the Server 2008 updates became cumulative rollups in the fall of 2018 and now that Kaby Lake laptop is in very poor shape.1 point

I suspect that control over moderation on social media will eventually be transferred over to governments. They will codify it into some kind of law. It's much less likely that Facebook or YouTube will get dismantled into a thousand forums. On YouTube, I now often speak to a wall with an internal monologue when the comments get deleted. The society is incredibly sensitive about "misinformation" nowadays. Videos that are clearly saying untruths can be entertaining to watch, trying to understand the reasoning of the authors, and read heated arguments in the comments section. Most uploaders have a fanbase who like these presentations no matter what, and help out. If only positive reaction is possible, then the discussion turns into an echo chamber, just like in recent past when authors could press the heart on comments that agreed with them, or only expressed shallow compliments.1 point
