Workaround: general.useragent.override.addons.palemoon.org ---> Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/4.8 Firefox/68.0 PaleMoon/29.4.0.2 Before: After: But there's a real possibility that they come up with something more "clever" (JavaScript?).3 points

And now they've done it for the normal extensions on the PM site. I haven't checked the basilisk site yet, but expect it to be the same. Same thing on the basilisk site. I wonder if the addon authors are aware. That snake Trollbin going at it again...2 points

Summary: For a long time, there have been 2 choices for extended kernels and both of them have their exclusives that aren't present in the other extended kernel. WildBill's extended kernel has many exclusive ntdll functions, SxS support, and a few exclusive functions in other files. BlackWingCat's extended kernel has many exclusive kernel32 functions (and some in other files). The big issue is that ntdll and kernel32 cannot be mixed, forcing people to choose between a better kernel32 or a better ntdll. The main goal of KernelXE is to eliminate this issue. ⚠️ This is beta software. Don't expect it to be stable. ⚠️ KernelXE Lite: KernelXE Lite is a smaller and reduced version of KernelXE that only contains files that are stable and compatible with BlackWingCat's extended kernel. KernelXE Lite is not compatible with full KernelXE and is meant to be installed on top of BlackWingCat's extended kernel. rv1 changes: Added custom BlackWingCat ntdll.dll with RtlIpv6StringToAddressExW and RtlSetLastWin32Error. ⚠️ Make sure to install the WildBill Update Collection BEFORE KernelXE. It is required and your system will be unbootable if you install KernelXE first. ⚠️ Downloads: KernelXE v0.2.4.2 KernelXE v0.2.5-rv1 Lite WildBill Update Collection The future of KernelXE and what I have been doing: As kernel32 grew, problems started to occur, like blank spaces in code, bugged code, and not enough space to add certain things. I decided to re-extend kernel32. This means redoing the entirety of .patch, which is where all non-Microsoft code is stored. Specifically in kernel32, I haven't had enough space in .data to add the data needed for some LCID related functions that are extremely commonly used in programs. I have already re-extended gdi32, and I may re-extend some other file if I need to. There won't be a new release of KernelXE for a long time, but when it finally comes, KernelXE may actually be a suitable alternative to BlackWingCat's extended kernel. Changelog: Public Beta 1: Initial Public Release Public Beta 2: Exported real CreateActCtxW as CreateActCtxB to prevent explorer.exe crashing. Added CreateActCtxW stub to take care of programs that call it while fixing the real function. Moved QueryUnbiasedInterruptTime, SetThreadStackGuarantee, K32EmptyWorkingSet, and GetNativeSystemInfo to .text Added idndl.dll, normaliz.dll, and the nls files normaliz.dll uses to the update package. v0.2.3: First version of KernelXE with new versioning system Full changelog inside update installer. v0.2.3.1: Added updated DirectSound library Added updated hotplug.dll and stobject.dll Added Windows Server 2003 msvcrt.dll Added BlackWingCat's Reiwa compatible locale.nls v0.2.4: Added PAE Added this HAL Timer fix Added Windows Vista msvcrt.dll Added KeAcquireInStackQueuedSpinLockRaiseToSynch and HalConvertIdtToIrql to all HALs Added KernelXE branded bootscreens Added some ntoskrnl functions (list in full changelog) v0.2.4-rv1: Added exFAT stuff (update.inf was weird) v0.2.4.1: Removed exFAT stuff Fixed and cleaned up update.inf Replaced Vista msvcrt with Server 2003 msvcrt (Vista msvcrt causes a BSOD related to winsrv) Added Kernel Mode Driver Framework Added WinUSB v0.2.4.2: Added some user32 stubs requested by piotrhn Added a missing piece of code in CreateActCtxB Updated msvcrt to 7.0.6002.22755 (Vista) Changed version block to check if the NT major version is 5 and removed NT minor version checking. Fixed loading bar not appearing in bootscreen Lots of new files Programs: Relocation Section Editor - Only one that handles huge relocation tables like the one in ntoskrnl. would be nice to see "secure" sites like bank and cc sites to do same as proper darkweb sites. Blocking access if js is enabled telling you disable it and requiring no js to work. That would increase security of them a lot and courage others drop js too. Js is not as bad as Webassembly or activex but it is still security risk and has no place on any secure site. And claim js blocks bots is false. New bots can read js only sites too.1 point

How so very true! One of my credit cards tries to load scripts from SIX domains, only TWO of which belong to the credit card. I've often wondered why anybody would just blindly trust all SIX to load or how many people even actually notice it in the first place.1 point

Turning off JavaScript and animated images makes a big difference towards making the overall web experience faster...while some sites don't work properly without JS, the ones that are excessively JS-heavy are in most cases not really worth visiting, to me anyway.1 point

My pleasure! But maybe extensions have to be downloaded first and then you have to edit the `install.rdf` file in it?1 point

@nicolaasjan - Wow! Thank you for the tip! @roytam1 - No worries! I'll do my best to stay on top of the latest releases, even if we have to use a little ingenuity to get the links (in the event of any confusion or uncertainty, I'm sure good samaritans will do their best to help). Thank you for all of your efforts over the years...I've said it before, but I can't say it enough, because you've been at this for a long time and I appreciate all that you do.1 point

Thanks, @nicolaasjan, i already got the needed UA for both sites. In the meantime though, i have put in there a little "greeting" for the next time that garden gnome checks the site stats1 point

Thanks. I do find it extremely ironic that my FIRST visit to the Mobile Mode crashed my web browser. I had the console open and was comparing network traffic between Mobile and Desktop - bam, the Mobile Mode crashed my browser. But I have been unable to duplicate the crash and the Mobile Mode definitely transfers smaller amounts of data - not sure if I'll default to it over the Desktop Mode as of yet though. Definitely awesome that now I can bookmark which mode I want to use for the session. Though I also observed that once a YouTube cookie was set, my Desktop Mode bookmark opened in Mobile Mode - but that could be a result from the Mobile Mode that crashed during my first visit. Thanks again for the links!1 point

The Pale Moon/Mypal sh*tstorm has reached reddit... https://redd.it/pexate Moonchild has commented in this one: https://redd.it/pf6hyd --- Mypal exe-files removed from github. Softpedia and majorgeeks among others have already removed Mypal. Still working but will probably soon disappear... http://www.mypal-browser.org/release/ . .1 point

Updated v9, v11, v12 and v13 - Created a minimalistic New Tab page that adapts to the Dark Theme (HTML and CSS only). In the first post are the instructions on how to modify the default shortcuts. - Added the WMP (Windows Media Player) plugin for Firefox. - Added ViewTube to recommended extensions. The extension works on all versions of the browser. Cheers.1 point

There is a search plugin creator that works with New Moon 28. You can set up an icon so the entry is clearly identifyable. http://ready.to/search/en/ Why is this basic functionality not part of any Firefox flavor? It is a simple preset with a few values, that does not deserve to be called a "plugin". It is a major inconvenience to find and install an extension. I come from Opera, and it was there (except the icon is automatic and Google was forced with the last versions).1 point

Hello. @cmccaff1 I have to say it, this is a very good comment. Everything is very well described and narrated. It is good to meet people like you, and welcome to MSFN! (you were already a member since long ago but it is nice a little welcome ) I know that it seems weird that I am posting here but I wanted to say that. I've also seen the situation and want to tell @feodor2 not to worry about those guys trying to ditch you up, you have done a very good work. Do not let anyone destroy what you have accomplished. Even if they are correct about the legal issues (the bad intentions make me wonder), that does not mean that you have to eliminate everything you have done (at least those are my thoughts). I am sure everything will be fine at the end. Cheers.1 point
