  2. Anyone notice that this happened in the last couple of days? When I first saw this, I thought it was a glitch or a fluke! http://www.thedrum.com/news/2018/02/19/google-removes-view-image-button-part-settlement-with-getty Apparently there are extensions for Chrome and Firefox to restore this functionality but once again, technology takes a hit rather than a step forward in usability. Thanks Getty!
  3. Hey Big Muscle, were you planning to fix this inactive window border coloring problem? I'm not sure whether it's an issue of choosing the wrong theme atlas elements or coloring it the wrong way. As you may recall, my theme atlas has some blue color built into the active elements. However it's happening, it's coming out wrong for normal GDI windows. Here's an illustration of the problem with your latest test version... Note specifically the side and bottom borders of the inactive Notepad and Aero Glass GUI windows. -Noel
  4. I downloaded the Safe Uninstall Utility and backed it up to web.archive.org. Since the link went to an e-mail (disposable address), I'm not sure if I should publish the download link. Maybe you still remember a few versions of Rapport that would be of interest. Otherwise the Rapport Safe Uninstall Utility works, then I do not need to uninstall it manually. Then I'll test something in my VM, if I can trigger your problem.
  5. Aero Glass GUI

The Aero Glass GUI doesn't reset everything at run time. Try logging off then back on after making changes, so the Explorer instance running the desktop gets informed of all the changes. Also note that ribbon-enabled windows (e.g., Explorer, WordPad) have different rules governing title bar coloration. It's possible to get the colors fairly well coordinated if you choose just the right colors for the Windows interface. I think I still have some instances where the title bar text color is lacking contrast, though. I find things work better with a dark background (e.g., I have a number of astroimages I use). The Aero Glass tool doesn't - possibly can't - seem to make everything perfect. Gone are the days when YOU get to specify how things look to great detail. Basically the problem is Windows 10 and Microsoft's moves away from proper theming. The poor dears in Redmond probably found it too hard to follow a standard for desktop development. I found a picture Microsoft published of one of the current Windows 10 programmers... Ah, here it is... For what it's worth, to improve the readability of things and strengthen the color of partially transparent title bars I created my own Theme Atlas with some blue color baked into the elements that are composited together. A copy of this theme atlas (with corresponding .layout file), which I am using with Win 10 v1709, can be found here: http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/Win10/16299/RoundedCorners.zip -Noel

  7. Latest version of Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7??? (SP1)

MS discontinued supporting IE8, 9 and 10 since January 2016. So if you wish to continue using a non-supported browser, you can download the last IE8 cumulative update that was released on the 10th June 2017 below:- x64: http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/csa/csa/secu/2017/04/windows6.1-kb4018271-x64-custom_33a66978d36f16a33b042b2abea45cdddf90c17f.msu x86: http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/csa/csa/secu/2017/04/windows6.1-kb4018271-x86-custom_0aaca7d3a92b3030bca78a44281ce86ec7cd5dab.msu
  8. Internet Explorer 11 (Updated 13/02/2018)

Updated first post, and sorry for leaving this thread non-updated for so long. With the death of my step-dad and other personal life issues getting in the way, I have not found much time to update this thread, and just barely enough to update the Windows Update Lists.
  9. Rapport has never been the best designed piece of software in my (and many others) experience! Problems like this are not uncommon. Try using the uninstall utility. The direct link to ask for it is here. You will need to have the link to download it sent to your e-mail address. In my experience that usually succeeds in removing it when normal methods fail. Thanks again for those download links, much appreciated!
  10. Thanks Den! I've amended the thread title, and I will check that there's no posts in the original thread that should have been moved, but at first glance it looks good to me. I guess you have your "full powers" back now, so the downtime on the board was worth it! Cheers, Dave.
  11. Does it still has oleaut. Bug that cause weird fonts in blender ?
  12. @roytam1 where can I get your firefox 3 mod soarce code?
  13. Official - Windows 10 Worst Crap Ever!

My GeForce GTX 750 Ti is back from the dead, apparently it only needed cleaning/reseating to stop random hangs. I should try out the driver package for Vista/7/8/8.1 to see if that smooths things out on Windows 10 next time I boot into it. I've seen another oddity on multiple Win10 PCs; the crapload of events with ID 504: Completing a failed IOCTL request. There were two others in that particular section (Applications and Services Logs->Microsoft->Windows->Stordiag->Microsoft-Windows-Storage-ClassPnP/Operational) on my hardware, which I don't recall at the moment. This one is not really new, but they've been improving the audio stack to reduce latency without needing anything extra. One thing I'm not sure I completely understand, what's the deal with Windows Sonic for Headphones? When I first read about, I thought it could be an alternative to software like Razer Surround or Creative's CMSS -3D tech, but it doesn't appear to behave that way. Then after the quick glance through documentation, If I'm understanding it right, application must be coded specifically to use it. I guess just another thing to lock one to Windows 10 ecosystem. Microsoft is trying harder than ever to pretend earlier versions don't exist.
  14. Server 2008 Updates on Windows Vista

I just found out something very interesting for both Vista and 7: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4012371 I also found this pdf file from Microsoft detailing this service: https://download.microsoft.com/download/C/5/1/C51D8E55-5538-4F21-8C9D-A66DB31C4B46/SQL_Server_and_Windows_Server_Premium_Assurance_Datasheet.pdf Microsoft probably knows how s*** Windows 10 (and its related Server offerings) are for enterprises, and is milking the NT 6.0/6.1 cashcow for all it's got. In fact, if you go to the lifecycle page, you can see it mentions the 6 years extended support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=windows server 2008 Seems like this agreement could extend to Server 2012/R2, but I haven't found concrete dates on that, aside from the same support page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=windows server 2012 Anyway, if we could get a hold of someone (anyone) who had access to this licensing agreement and could provide the updates, we could be seeing Windows Vista and 7 support up until 2026!!!
  15. dencorso and mixit - thanks for your encouragement to update the Office 2003 (with 2007 Compatibility) on my wife's Win 7 Pro 64-bit machine. HOWEVER, there seem to be a variety of update files, and I'm not sure which to install. Please see the possible different update sources at my post above <HERE> Among other things, should I install Bersaglio's KB4011703 ? EDIT - Here's the list of the updates already on her machine:
  16. Install old skype in Windows 10?

Okay, so I found this post where there is the download link to the latest Skype for Windows 10.
  17. KB4074852 replaces KB4018556 so you must fix the same type of error: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/894199/software-update-services-and-windows-server-update-services-changes-in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4018556/title
  18. Until now I used to use this installer, which downloaded the latest installer: http://repacks.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37 However it stopped working and now Im stuck with this mediocre skype for windows 10. The official download page redirects me to the store and I dont have a W7 computer to download the installer and I fear that its possible that the installer downloader redirects me to the store. In short, do you know if its possible to install the old skype in windows 10? The one that isnt from the store. Thanks you
  19. This will only fix sites using CAcert, there are hundreds of certificates out there, and each and every one pops up that it can't be trusted under Firefox It happens on pretty much every site I visit. Didn't test Firefox 3 yet.
  20. Bandicam

No. You want to record games or desktop? For games use Fraps 1.9D, alongside an audio recorder (Fraps 1.9D does not record sound), like Audacity, then combine the audio and video in the software of choice. For desktop, old version of CamStudio seems to work apparently. Don't have any experience with recording desktop on 98SE, I usually capture using an USB Grabber, as that's much better, albeit not free
  21. The key does not work (aero glass)

Thanks for your reply must have been smth wrong with the key got a new one and... success !!!! and a BIG THANK YOU for Aero Glass !
  22. This may seem odd, since its a list of instructions for different systems: http://wiki.cacert.org/FAQ/ImportRootCert But atleast for Firefox theres a description to import the Certs of "Cacert". http://wiki.cacert.org/FAQ/BrowserClients#Mozilla_Firefox I dont know which certificate popups on which pages or which issues you have. I can however report that I had troubles logging in my outlook mail on Firefox 3.6 or Opera 12.02 some times. Sometimes it would work other times not. I did import the Certs for Opera the way it was mentioned in one of these sections "Microsoft Internet Explorer" Manual Installation (for a single user) " or "Microsoft Windows" single user . Not sure which one particular. It seems outlook.com opened again without issue. The menu to import certificates in Opera ofcourse is somewhere different to find than firefox or IE. Cant really say if it made any bigger different. But when I updated CaCerts on a Android Phone a few https pages that would normally not show-up did open however. If you got time you can give it a try.
  23. Ok. I wanted to leave out the www for both links but somehow forgot that. On my Android phone its before version 4.0 only one of these two pages did show up the https results. The other one (Google) only http. Going to the https version would show a "Webpage not available" message. And I would assume that https is in your case 57% faster than http or simple math its a 1,611 s difference in speed. Or if you see it the other way round if you could only browse with http it would mean a speed lose of 75% (+1,611 s) compared to https . I Just dont know why the http:// version works and the https:// not regarding googles page on my android phone. Also other pages with https sometimes also dont open.
  24. My MSI 1050Ti just died and I wondered if I could use this until I get my card back from MSI? The 5670 would have to be better than the on-board graphics. Thanks, Bob Yes, it does!
  25. Open regedit go to key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Set EnableSIHostIntegration to 0 Then install startisback, to have some of the disabled feature available again(like start menu, closing windows from taskbar) logoff to take effect
