That looks too tricky to me, at least for testing Panda. Do you have simple instructions for installing the TLS stuff under WinXP? In contrast, updating the various versions and editions of My ancient version of Kaspersky in one swoop is quite simple. I just use a little corporate utility, Kaspersky Updater, to create/update a single update distribution folder from which 30+ Kaspersky programs can be updated off-line. Below is a screenshot of this little corporate utility, which I used for updating 3 different Kaspersky programs, the normal workstation edition, the specced-down workstation edition and the server edition. This screenshot shows the signature update of 10Dec2025 for my posting "My ancient version of Kaspersky under Windows 10" of 15Dec2025. https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/page/82/#comments The message "... Retranslation successful" means that the update was successful and that the update distribution folder was filled OK. No idea what the part "and update is not requested" refers to. Kaspersky Updater here was run under Windows Server 2003 (blue window title) and updating under WinXP and Win10 from the update distribution folder worked OK. No need to register with an email address and to fiddle around with TLS stuff under WinXP.

Excellent, thanks for letting me know. No need to worry then by combining licenses using the same email address. All the best

Russia, China, United States and so on. All these totalitarian, undemocratically run regimes spy on people and collect data in order to gain total control. Fortunately, I am European and, above all, German. I have my privacy and the data I disclose well under control. I have no problem disclosing a specific email address for contacting a company like Panda.

Thanks to a post by LordGarfio in 'My Browser Builds (Part 5)' - 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 v16.7 Redistributable v14.27.29114 XP' - I was able to install 'Win32 OpenSSL v3.6.0 Light' from the above website into my Windows XP system. This download worked: from the post by LordGarfio. I will see how everything works over the next few days. I was not able to install Win32 OpenSSL v3.6.0 Light before. October 8, 2025 - OpenSSL 3.6 is available. Users should currently install a 3.x series and generally only need a Light edition. All application developers should have migrated their applications to use the OpenSSL 3.x series. Note that 3.5.x is a LTS release series while 3.6.x is not. Installs the most commonly used essentials of Win32 OpenSSL v3.6.0 (Only install this if you need 32-bit OpenSSL for Windows). ... They have the full version (x32, x64) there also but they mention that the light version (x32, x64) should work for most people. Add ... I want to add the exact link for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 v16.7 Redistributable v14.27.29114 XP. I stumbled across it someplace and I still think it was in the post by LordGarfio. I can't seem to find the exact link but I saved it to a folder. https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2883-microsoft-visual-c-redist-2015-2019-for-windows-xp/ About This File This is the official installer for Visual C++ Redist 2015-2019 downloaded directly from Microsoft's website. This version is the last one to support Windows XP, even though Microsoft links to an older version. There was never a 2015-2022 redistributable installer for Windows XP. This is intended for Windows XP since that Operating System is good for older games and EAX support. This will ensure the latest redistributable is installed on the system for those games to use. Zip file contains installers for x86, x64, and arm64 systems. Just run the one you need. For x64 systems install both x86 and x64. What's New in Version 14.29.30139 Released March 22, 2024 Provided a newer version than what the Microsoft website linked to by default, I have confirmed it installable on Windows XP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the person mentioned above ... this file did install on my Win XP setup also. I came across this file somewhere, just not sure where but I usually save all my links when searching around till I find what I am looking for. Sometimes I get lucky and stumbled or trip over it. ...

Don't worry, I have 6 licences (for 26 PCs) all on the same email address.

Using different emails does NOT protect your privacy. United States spy agencies identify people by name, email address(es), phone numbers, IP numbers assigned etc. OT: the header of a Jeffrey Eppstein FBI file recently released indicates also the IP number as a personal identification trait, together with the date of birth. https://web.archive.org/web/20251227130144/https://www.miamiherald.com/public/latest-news/2wwvfa/picture313924496/alternates/FREE_1140/Screenshot 2025-12-23 115102.png In many countries the router IP number assigned by Internet providers is nearly impossible to change. You can pull the power plug of the router and reconnect it, but still the same router IP number.

I absolutely do not mind buying a new one at all. Just did not want it to mess up the one I already have. So then, in a sense, I would have a single and then I would buy a family pack to have spares. So that should mean 4 PC's, one from my single license and then three from my to be bought family pack. Just did not wish to mess things up as they will each use my same email address. Thanks for the reply.

The activation of a Panda account needs a TLS connection. That's why you have to use ProxHTTPSProxy or similar technology under Windows XP. No chance without it since Windows XP lacks modern, secure protocols natively. And any contact to Panda support without a registered account is not possible.

An old email address at GUERRILLA MAIL still works, but not the Panda activation. After entering the email address in window "Activate Panda Dome", Panda dome displays "Error checking the account. We're sorry but we were unable to access your Panda account. Make sure you have an Internet connection and try again." Same issue with FAKE MAIL GENERATOR, the same error message by Panda Dome. So either some disposable email addresses are black-listed by Panda Security or activation requires additional TLS stuff, or both

Just buy a new licence, it's dirt cheap. As far as I know there's no real process to deactivate or transfer licences, it used to be that you could just reuse existing codes, but that stopped working. You can check licence status at https://startisback.com/#support-tab to see if there are any activations left on your existing licence, and if not I would just get a new one. I install licences on friends and family PCs all the time and I have no way of keeping track who is still using startisback etc so I use the licence query to see the status.

I have different email addresses. Therefore, I don't care at all if I get flooded with advertising emails on certain email accounts. But I wouldn't use a temporary address for the Panda account, as this email address is used to register the products used and for support enquiries.

I doubt that you really "have to". ie, enter a FAKE/TEMPORARY email address !!! I use GUERRILLA MAIL all the time for things like this. There are others. **NEVER** give out your real email. Not even my checking account has me REAL email. I do *NOT* want their monthly *CRAP* just to tell me a monthly statement is available.

Can anyone advise me please... I have used SAB for some time and have mine licensed with no issues. However, I have just bought a small NUC box that I would also like to use it on, running Windows 11. How do I change / modify / purchase the appropriate additional license for that NUC box..? At the time mine was a singular license, only having access to the one PC. Thanks

Maybe here is the solution to the low detection rate of Panda Dome: As described my earlier posting above, I did NOT activate Panda Dome. Therefore there was no apparent need to install ProxHTTPSProxy, HTTPSProxy or ProxyMII under WinXP as described in AstroSkipper's posting of 20Dec2025 https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/page/83/#findComment-1284113 My old Inspiron 7500 is connected to the Internet via Ethernet, and the activity light of the Ethernet PC Card does NOT indicate any uploading activity during virus-checking by Panda Dome, i.e. Panda Dome is apparently using a built-in, rudimentary signature set, and was not uploading files for online checking. Panda Dome, however, did NOT give any messages that the virus-checking is incomplete and no online checking took place, e.g. because Panda Dome was not activated or because of a TLS problem. The two reviews by tomsguide and techradar, quoated in my earlier posting, were from the top search results displayed by the Yandex search engine. For my testing of Panda Dome I have been re-using "My personal in the Wild", described in my posting of 6Jul2024 (please scroll down there) https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/page/70/#comments I do not want to enter my email address to activate Panda Dome, so I am done with my testing of Panda Dome.

I still can't launch Mypal68 on Dependency Walker (exception in 0xFFFFFFEA): MP68_DW.txt I'm using the one from Firefox 52 (10.0.14393.33), obviously the ones from Mypal68 does not work at all. I have not managed to redirect UCRTBASE to MSVCR140 (MSVCP140?) as the api-ms-win files already redirected there (it still ask for UCRTBASE.DLL), if I redirect those to MSVCP140 it complains about MSVCP140:Free. UPDATE: I launched tried FineSSE and it's the showing same exception Also forgot to mention but I'm using the latest version 74.1.4 (don't be fooled, it's still 68). I'll test the older 68.1x.x versions and see if there's any differences. Update 2: Tested Mypal68 v68.13.1, same error 0xFFFFFFEA, also happens on unmodified Serpent 52 as well.

The results are different: In 16 XUL does not load. In 17 it fails much later with thread 18 quitting after successfully loading WBEMSVC.dll. Were the symptoms the same? What versions of UCRTBASE.dll have you tried? Also try using KnownDLLs to redirect UCRTBASE to MSVCR140 or lower. The code at 406012 seems to just be checking for tampering in its own header, but makes no calls to UCRTBASE. 'First chance exception 0x406D1388 (Thread was named) occurred in "c:\program files\ff54_17\XUL.DLL" at address 0x0173AF59 by thread 10 "JS Helper".' -- This shows how a debugger can handle a RaiseException and continue without crashing. Mypal68 shouldn't be making that call when not running in a debugger. Try running Mypal68 in DW or Finesse.

Dependency Walker logs, kinda strange that the broker services error did not appear when running the -17 version: FF54_DW.zip Also is this correct (procwin):

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
anton12 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hello roytam1, You said: "Merry Christmas and please enjoy a freshly specially experimental build!" I hope you and everyone here had a merry Christmas. "....and please enjoy a freshly specially experimental build!" Well,......let the enjoyment begin: When trying to start basilisk.exe and palemoon.exe from https://o.rthost.win/basilisk/basilisk52-g4.8.win32-git-20251225-3219d2d-uxp-fd19819276-xpmod-ia32.7z and https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20251225-d849524bd-uxp-fd19819276-xpmod-sse.7z these are the results: -
From FF54_17.log: Shortly after XUL.dll successfully loads, Firefox.exe gets its own handle ([FIREFOX.EXE]00406012:<KERNEL32.DLL>GetModuleHandleW|400000) then makes a call into UCRTBASE.dll which tries to explicitly load another dll. That load fails ([UCRTBASE.DLL]00665edf:<KERNEL32.DLL>LoadLibraryExW|0) and so does an attempt to get a module handle (GetModuleHandleExW|0). UCRTBASE then quits by calling ExitProcess, probably after displaying the broker services error message. FF54_16.log is the same. I see no evidence of a crash--Firefox.exe appears to terminate normally. If you Profile Firefox.exe in DependencyWalker, it should show the name of the dll UCRTBASE fails to load. While the broker services error is still displayed, looking in Procwin16 at the Firefox.exe code after 00406012 might reveal what UCRTBASE api before 00669c2c was called. Also the string passed to LoadLibraryW should be findable. As for KSTUB825.log, it is full and no longer logging anything. Just delete it to start a new log.

Hi There is indeed a problem with Mypal 74.1.4 xp and Cloudflare. After human verification, it indicates an error and does not connect to the website and goes into an infinite loop, and this, on all websites requesting a cloudflare verification. This problem does not exist with Roytam browsers. test site... https://lostmediawiki.com

Here I am. Several weeks passed and as I said, I was able to investigate from time to time. I don't consider myself lazy but I think that while I might be able to do the job, it would take me a long time to reach the level of experience of someone like Conan, who has been debloating for over a decade. What I did was use a more current ISO. I'm now using Windows X-Lite 11 Micro 23H2. The newer ones like 24H2 are not compatible with my processor. This ISO is only 1.5gb and once installed takes up only 2.7gb! Much more stable than Phoenix! Just in case left the older WiFi driver installed and so far I've had no problems. Was able to translate it to Spanish and completely disabled Windows Update. The only thing is TinyWall still refuses to be installed. Suspect some dependencies it requires don't exist. But I achieved stability..! I'm also using a little free app from Advanced SystemCare Ultimate called SmartRAM that intelligently frees up memory. Everything is going great after several weeks with all the programs I use installed.

I already have the menu bar check marked on the Organize Bar. This has nothing to do with and I can't understand how anyone could confuse my report above of a real bug with check marking the menu bar under Organize. Some how get a clue WTF, WTF, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤪🤪🤪!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If everyone here is that goddamn f****** stupid, then I am f****** done with this f****** forum.

One thing is clear. Panda Antivirus Free is a cloud-based anti-malware programme. You have to be connected to the internet and perform scans only online and not offline to get a reasonable detection rate.

This review is 7 years old and therefore obsolete. My linked test is from this month, December 2025. On this side, you can read that its online protection score was a strong 99.25%. Of course, you can always pick out whatever you need for your argument.
