  3. Are you sure you really need that driver integrated into setup? Try x86 version first. I think I’m using in XP2ESD only syssetup.dll patches on 5.2. (I’m out of my machine, cant check it today) https://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/17689-xpw2k3-x64-on-modern-hardware/?do=findComment&comment=138860
  4. The files have been renamed, everything is correct now.
  5. Hi, I flash this AWARD Bios from 2001, it has also CD-Rom boot for the Shuttle Hot 433. In Bios you have to set boot order CDROM, C. The harddisk has to be an IDE disk (without any adapter), smaller than 137 Gbyte, jumpered as MASTER Dietmar https://ufile.io/d67gsrhn
  6. Sigh. Another issue. "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" no matter what known good drive I install. Windows 2000 did not have this problem, it installs and runs fine. This is a Shuttle HOT 433 rev 1-3. @Dietmar isn't this the same board you're using? Did you have to do anything special to get Windows setup to see your hard drives? I'm using the Award 2001 BIOS.
  7. My apologies for the late testing.. every time I get a good start on a project of mine something happens to delay it. Unfortunately this patch doesn't seem to work, it triggers an endless loop at the beginning of the second phase of SETUP. The text part of SETUP completes, the system reboots and shows "Installing Windows" and "39 minutes remaining" - but it never loads the first dialog box to click to continue. After a few seconds the screen goes all light blue and the machine reboots. This repeats on each reboot. No error is displayed.
  8. Sounds promising. Tried using that just now, but I'm currently working on the x64 version of XP. Apparently the patch for the x64 version of SETUPAPI.DLL needs further work, it triggers an endless loop. Will elaborate further in that thread. I put this topic in the main XP section since I meant for it to apply to both x86/x64, but It may need moving to the x64 section later if divergent methods are necessary.
  9. Since the question was asked as a "philosophical" one, I think the best answer is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson's_law#First_meaning
  10. Off topic (and not to advertise, just super excited and want as many people to see it!) https://winclassic.net/thread/2358/release-consolelogonhook-custom-logon-ui?page=1&scrollTo=20865 The Windows 7 Login screen is now back on windows 10!
  11. UPDATE: I figured it out. The CPU was the issue. It doesn't want to start the kernel on an Intel DX4/100. Codes stamped on this CPU are as follows: A80486DX4100 L5473524 3VOLT SK051 I replaced with an Am486DX4/100 and the XP kernel now boots! Could the intel possibly not have supported CPUID? I thought any DX4 was late enough to support it, but could be mistaken.

  13. So you don't know whether they applied Client Leaks Fix from the Ungoogled, am I right?
  14. Cixert, do you have WinHex? Go to "tools", "open disk" and open it as "physical device", what does it tell you? No need to format them before!
  15. Was produced at a Russian military installation factory in Zelenograd (Federal subject: Moscow), I again know this from now non-secret documents. The second manufacturing site was somewhere in Taiwan. Considering the fact it was sold throughout the whole Combloc, including Poland, it was a big market. But then again, the OP might be too young to remember.
  16. Actually, it's pretty close to the Russkies' meaning, out-of-service combatants. Gruz is officially used in Russia language as a very common word, I had seen it through numerous documents I worked on when studying them, though I wouldn't be surprised if the word is of Polish origins. Russia language has tons of French and German words. I sometimes wonder if they have their own at all. The core of their language is based on a gimped version of old Greek, adding numerous European words later on, then simplified for the local use and pronunciation.
  17. setupapi.dll patch should do that job. I mean use any unsigned driver, including modified INFs during setup. Use patched dll just for setup, replace with original one later. 26. Personally, I think that such a thread is not really necessary. We already have two threads about extensions here, one for the legacy ones and one for the webextensions. That should be sufficient. Here they are: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/ https://msfn.org/board/topic/183657-mypal-68-in-windows-xp-custom-buttons-and-extensions/ And there can be found a lot about uBlock Origin. D'accord ?
  27. Same here. And if the sqlite file is totally bloated due to frequent import and removal of filter lists, the installation should be reset or this file should be simply deleted, of course after creating a full backup which can then immediately restored when the browser has been started again.
  28. In Thorium and in Mypal 68, I use the extension UserAgent-Switcher and Manager for this purpose. I already wrote about it here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/186133-thorium/?do=findComment&comment=1266981 In New Moon 28 or Serpent, similar solutions can be applied if needed.
