I fixed it. I did multiple changes, so its not clear what actually helped, but better to try 3 things that zillion and maybe some combination of these things is needed. I reinstalled DirectX, but Dxdiag still not should any compatible version after reboot, so this probably did not helped. I disabled ExcludeFromSelect=* line, to be able select device through loading list of devices dialog.. so i was able to install 13.xx Black wing cat driver / Maybe 13.xx are better than 12.xx I increased max memory for my card from 512 to 1024 - probably this was main problem. Its working fine with PAE switch, i but im running only on 8 GB of 16 GB, because of Advanced server license limit, if was unable to find some PAE patch compatible with Win2000, there are some universal patches which claims Win2000 support, but during installation it fails on some missing API call. Now i can play Crysis on Windows 2000, they is patch for Windows 2000, even patch for Crysis demo.. Windows 2000 is limiter for my machine - R7750 + Ivy Bridge Core i5 .. but with this its working great quad boot 32 bit all with PAE - 3k / XP / Vista / Win 7 + Mx Linux better internet surfing and Steam games through Proton Wine. Yeah for Nvidia Black Wing Cat patches up to Geforce 960 or 980, these are much faster, so i did not tested them.. My Radeon 7750 is nice with passive cooling 50W TDP total silent.. Yeah there is KalmX Geforce 750, im not sure if there even was such Geforce 950.

Please,can someone confirm this ? -
Well that was short-lived. I have officially reverted back to version 1.11.1. Despite it not showing up in Help -> About for Chrome/Chromium version v140, everything seems to be working just fine. I can "live with" it not being shown in Help -> About.

I have tried Radeon 7750, but its the same. I have tried export and import Direct 3D registry keys from WIndows XP, but its not that easy.. Dxdiag: DXdiag from XP: VDD - is empty, but DDI is found with 9. Memory is listed as 1024 and DirectDraw and Direct3D Accelerations are enabled.. When i try Unigine Heaven DirectX9 on Win 2000.. Im getting this message: D3D9APPWindows:: create_context(); required multisample is not supported. Engine::video::restart(); cant set 640x360 windowed mode I really dunno how to debug this, it seems that for some reason driver loading not loading Direct3D at all, or try and fail during driver initialization or registry keys with card features are not properly set in registry.. I never was able to fix this other way than reinstall some "better" driver, but this one is already only 1 unofficial one Inf problems: To not visible devices in the driver list - i suspect this ExcludeFromSelect=* - parameter, for some reason its used,if im not wrong it means that detected devices are actually hidden from the list.. that is strange decision when there is not classic *.exe installer and its installed through *.inf files. Im staring to understand more and more .Inf files structure, but defined the whole Direct 3D environment seems to be too many variable, not enough knowledge problem. I found some 4 years old reddit post, which is claiming that Radeon 7750 is running fine, in his machine but i dunno with which drivers and if Direct3D is really working. This sort of classic ATI problem in reverse, usually Direct3D is fine and OpenGL is broken / messing.. Especially with Windows NT / 2000.. or simply OpenGL implementation is buggy. In Dxdiag its clear that these are wrong: DDI - Device Driver Interface - max directX available is not detected. Used BlackWingsCat - 12.xx driver inf file, - i have tried to compare it with last drivers from ATI, but again there is quite a lot of variables: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jd727zhvfzvhv1vg6arqc/CX137814.inf?rlkey=rmt7b35yb0i56wt6wngndtwet&dl=1 Maybe this could be problem my cards are 1 GB, if this is in MB: MaximumDeviceMemoryConfiguration=512 and for my card seems to be this branch of .inf file is used: ati2mtag_R575, for Radeon 7350, it was ati2mtag_Evergreen.

Thank you a bunch for spoiling us ... The new shared build runs OK here (Vista SP2 32-bit) ; compared to the previous Vista+ shared offering (ffmpeg-n8.1-dev-891-git-20251025-gdefd5f3), I see that below libs (rather, buildconfig flags) have been removed: --enable-cuda --enable-cuvid --enable-d3d12va --enable-nvenc --enable-ffnvcodec --enable-nvdec --enable-mediafoundation --enable-libvpx --enable-libaom --enable-librav1e --enable-libkvazaar --enable-libxavs --enable-vulkan --enable-libvvenc --enable-libcelt --enable-opencl This has reduced the size of the extracted archive by ca. 23 MiB (from 127 to just 104); really indebted! Best wishes.

If I had to "guess", it has been this way ever since the day we went offline for "maintenance" all an account of OVER ONE HUNDRED consecutive spam posts for INTUIT TURBOTAX / QUICKBOOKS. We went offline for several hours, perhaps even an entire day.

There have been *at least* three reports of this. People have posted in "old" topics and start off their post with saying they had to reply semi-off-topic because they could not start a new topic. I'm not going to spend the time to hunt them down. At least three in recent weeks. But time alludes me at times, maybe it's been a month, maybe three months, no clue. But others *HAVE CITED* this issue where they could not start a new topic.

I wasn't aware ; if that is the case, shouldn't this forum glitch be posted in https://msfn.org/board/forum/23-site-amp-forum-issues/ ? (Or is one now completely unable to?) Are any of the admins/mods made aware? At what exact stage does the "new topic" fail to be submitted? FWIW, the "Create New Topic" button seems to work OK here, but I haven't proceeded in actually submitting one ... @Dave-H, do you happen to have any insight on this?

Yep, sure enough. My bank now forces Chrome/Chromium v140 as minimum *IF* you want to avoid two-step PITA login (ie, text or email code after username/password). Two-step is a enough of a PITA that I just upgraded everything in the house from Chrome/Chromium v136 to v140. Funny thing is, my bank still works with 360Chrome's v86 if you don't mind the added step of text or email code after the username/password. "Most" of Chrome++ version 1.11.1 seemed to be working fine. But not having it displayed in Help/About made me leary of not upgrading. And I don't think it was applying all of the startup parameters. I didn't keep it long enough to see just what was and was not working. I'm okay with upgrading it to v1.13.3 but I will NOT be using its launch_on_exit feature when ALTERNATIVE APPROACHES do the job BETTER.

... I think you've hit issue #185 , which the Chrome++ author (Bush2021) closed as "wontfix/not planned" ... Yes, I also believe "change/update" isn't always for the best , but what can one do ...

Hi, I just make a nice hack. I get a lot of Arduino nano for 67 Cent from China. They work under Win10 but not under XP SP3, "Unknown USB device". I use the Arduino IDE ver. 1.8.9 portable, means no installation. It has the exotic USB serial VID_0843&PID_5740. So, I take the win7 driver STM32_vcp_driver.zip from STMicroelectronics which has funny VID_0483&PID_5740. There I edit just the stmcdc.inf file only at this part ;------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ; VID/PID Settings ;------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [DeviceList.NT] %DESCRIPTION%=DriverInstall,USB\VID_0843&PID_5740 [DeviceList.NTamd64] %DESCRIPTION%=DriverInstall,USB\VID_0843&PID_5740 Right click on this modded stmcdc.inf "install", and voila, this Arduino nano clone from China works perfect under XP SP3 Dietmar

Which r3dfoxESR 140? NB, 140.5.0esr has been LibreWolf-ified (read above), while previous ESR, 140.2.0, has NOT... That one, too, is LibreWolf-free ... Hard to tell these days ... Since I always use the "portable" r3dfox variants (the browser profile is created inside a "Profile" dir adjacent to (r3dfox | r3dfox_esr).exe), I couldn't possibly have noticed your findings ; based on your findings, though, this is how I would migrate from r3dfox-139 to r3dfox-140esr: 1. Launch 140esr a first time and let it write/populate its default fresh profile in the "new" location (in "%AppData%\Eclipse Community\R3dfox ESR" ?) ; 2. I suppose you've already done this, but with 140esr open, load "about:support" => Profile folder (where you can see the absolute path to the ESR profile) => Open Folder 3. Exit r3dfox-140esr; then, erase all contents of the fresh ESR profile (already open in an Explorer window in step 2, above) 4. Inside the (now empty) 140esr profile folder, transfer/place all contents of your r3dfox-139 (release) profile (NOT the profile dir itself, just what it contains); 5. Launch 140esr anew; it SHOULD now load what was previously your r3dfox-139 profile... (Disclaimer: I haven't actually performed such a profile migration myself, my "guide" is based on educated guesses )

Disregard. Reverted to WinPenPack's launcher and using its [RunAfter] section instead of Chrome++'s launch_on_exit= section.

migrating from fx27 to nm28 directly may get you trouble, you may try migrating to nm27 first. -
Today, I updated my Chrome++ from version 1.11.1 to the most-recent version 1.13.3 (due to older versions do not properly work with Chrome versions v140 or newer). I use the launch_on_exit= feature of Chrome++. v1.11.1 would run a .bat file on exit WITHOUT popping up a flash of a command window. v1.13.3 flashes up a command window, cycles through the line items of the .bat file, then closes the command window. How do I prevent the FLASH on, closes when completed, command window from FLASHING on, kind of an EYE SORE.
