Like I already explained, it's something very strange because the page had been cleansed out completely, they made it look like nothing ever was there. We all need to demand explanations. And like Dixel said, win32 please get back.

So this is a takedown initiated by GitHub. But I'm wondering which reason have been retained against you from their side, Or even if they checked if the report and their concerns are legitimate. I don't think that someone that spends an enormous amount of their time to make something a very small pinch of people dare to do would ruin everything by putting Trojan-like code in it. It doesn't make sense at all. (Also if there was viral code in it, some people would have noticed by a long time). Maybe a statement would be appreciated once this solution finds an outcome, especially for stop people panicking.

@win32, come back to MSFN, I promise we'll bust down all haters and create a pleasant atmosphere for you to return! I personally ask @Dave-H to supervise! Guthub dust bin doesn't deserve to have you! I promise I'll stop writing about brightness. And here we have a good place to collaborate.

The win32ss account on GitHub was flagged for an unspecified reason. I am going through the appeal process to restore it, but I will make sure the repository surfaces somewhere else such as GitLab even if GitHub does accept the appeal.

Upgrading the CPU just will just work. In 2021 I upgraded from an AMD Phenom II X4 905e to an AMD FX-8320E. So I went from 4 cores to 8 cores. Windows XP recognized it just fine without reinstalling Windows. You can see all the threads in the Task manager.

I don't agree. When a takedown happens, they freaking write it was a takedown! A recent example was when they took down Rabinovitch's "cra_ked" Chrome and Opera. In this case it had been cleared out completely.

Indeed. I compared it to Firefox 47.0.2. With FF47, the link first leads to your post, scrolls up a bit and then scrolls back down to your post. With Serpent 52 (2024-05-10), the link leads to your post, scrolls up a bit and stays there. I mistook mina7601's post for yours. I received a few more errors from Session Manager that were a bit more elaborate: This operation failed due to a file access error: Component returned failure code: 0x8007000e (NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) [nsIScriptableUnicodeConverter.convertToInputStream](NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) This allowed me to do some further digging and I found an old thread on the MozillaZine Forums. Morac, the creator/maintainer of the Session Manager addon, suggested a user who experienced the exact same error message to change some settings related to disk caching: browser.cache.disk.smart_size.enabled;false browser.cache.disk.capacity;1048576 The smart size is set to true by default, which tells the browser to choose a disk cache size relative to the installed RAM. The second setting is set to 256000 (bytes) by default in Serpent, though I used to have it increased to 350000 if I remember correctly. I also changed the max_file_write_size of the Session Manager addon from the default 20 to 15. This is based on a suggestion by Morac in the same thread to someone who was unable to save further sessions. I handpicked the value of 15 as Morac didn't mention a specific alternative value. So far, this seems to have remedied the problems I've been having with Session Manager in the latest builds of Serpent, but it's possible some of the fixes weren't necessary.

I agree with you, and everyone knows: I love @win32, but then again, win32 has an account here, all it would take just a minute to post a relaxing comment! Don't you think? I mean, we (at least I) deserve this much. I was always loyal to win32.

This (to me at least) is "much ado about nothing". I'm seeing these as FALSE POSITIVES and a programmer that is FED UP with "explaining to the masses" that it is a FALSE POSITIVE. That's the PROBLEM with anti-virus "crap". You have to PAY MONEY to get your code APPROVED. Supermium/Thorium is FREE. How can a coder/programmer PAY to get code "approved" when the project generates no revenue? So the coder/programmer just throws his/her arms in the air and GIVES UP.

Hi, It appears the dragging animations don't work with 3.7.10 and 24H2. When I try to drag a program in the taskbar to rearrange it, there is no visual feedback showing the taskbar button moving. It does still end up moving to the new location when the mouse button is released. This only occurs with the default style; it does not occur with the Windows 8 or Windows 7 styles which work fine.

Don't know, The two files that still light up for me are notification_helper.exe & chrome_pwa_launcher.exe,

I checked each file separately, but apart from setup and uninstall it found only two files. It turns out that inside the archive finds a lot, but without the archive - no, how is this possible?

That scanner opens .zipped files, so just now removed setup.exe & uninstall.exe, zipped & scanned again. Fewer hits, but still some: EDIT: JUST ONE. I used "add to archive," so uninstall.exe got scanned. Sorry. Real result: Again, pretty sure it's false.

I installed Auto Refresh Page addon in Basilisk 52, it has a feature to search for keywords on automatic page refresh, then display notification and play sound effect. When I do the test, the notification does show up but no sound can be heard. I extracted the XPI and found the mp3 file "auto_refresh_page-3.2.xpi\assets\sounds\notification.mp3", so for some reasons Basilisk does not play this file. Could anyone please help me out? Thank you!

I'm checking individual files, not the whole folder, and it seems to be clean there, I checked almost all files, but only chrome_pwa_launcher.exe has one trigger. Strangely, the number of antiviruses finding something is much lower in the 64 bit version.
