suryad Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Cleartype makes fonts a lot easier to read and I have it at 1920 x 1200...my lcd resolution.
dedogs Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 cleartype on please. Hurts my eyes with it off.
3aces Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 i agree cleartype on as well especailly when you got a res of 1600x1200
Aegis Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 Really can't see how it hurts people's eyes, but since we can't reach a consensus, I'll leave an option to turn it on/off. Next question is whether I should use Explorer. Most people don't know that the Run/RunOnce keys in the registry that are commonly used by malware are created by Explorer. So without Explorer, you'd be safe against around half of the malware out there. Explorer can also be a memory hog at times; I've seen it use over 100MB of memory before. Explorer's only advantage is that working with thousands of files is easier. So I'm thoroughly against having Explorer, but ultimately it's the public's choice.
ripken204 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 well if u can get it to run faster, then do it.
Aegis Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 @glentThere's not much except a command prompt...nothing interesting (yet). I'll try to get a screenshot of netstat with no opened ports .
dedogs Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Yeah removing of explorer for a lesser version or even command prompt sounds great.
