PGomersall Posted August 12 Posted August 12 @Tihiy Keep up the good work and development of a great app. Here is something to possibly improve\review. I am not sure if this is possible for you to implement but asking for insight anyway; it would improve the UI experience. Would it be possible to enable dark mode on Toolbar flyouts? In the image I show below I have a toolbar pointing at a folder with internet shortcuts. Currently the background on the toolbar is light while in settings the OS is set to dark and File Explorer windows are dark following the OS. 1

I've been using toolbars for almost forever and a dark theme on them would really help with the overall aesthetic of the entire taskbar.
stephanm74 Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Hey! the search function on my laptop if I search for anything settings related when using the start menu is bugged. If I type in e.g., bluetooth and hit enter, it always sends me to the main settings page instead. This does happen for some settings pages (e.g., nightmode) but doesnt happen for others (e.g., taskbarsettings). It also does not happen if I use the vanilla win11 search. I already tried to reinstall startallback, unfortunately to no luck. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.
_ANK_ Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Hi! I'm using Everything Toolbar together with StartAllBack 3.8.3. I like to shrink the toolbar until it's a single button, but everytime I either reboot my PC or restart Windows Explorer, the toolbar goes back to full size, squishing all other pinned icons. I also noticed that the toolbar spaws a "Deskband host for wpf" entry on the taskbar that is visible if I shrink the toolbar back to a normal size. If I close it, the toolbar disappears. This bug didn't happen on the previous "classic enhanced taskbar". Edited August 13 by _ANK_ forgot screenshot
Vader Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Hi, It's about the task bar, the icon spacing is set to XS in my SAB. The icon spacing is still too big for me. Is there a way to reduce it even further in the registry? 1

Now SAB replaced all other functionallity except one: I'm not able to reorder tabs withing a group. e.g. I have 10 Firefox windows and want to reorder them, how can I do it? Any one more function I'm missing but its not important. I have the new context menus everywhere except the taskbar. With SAB I can only use classic context menu everywhere or not at all. Great work with SABs. Thanks. One question. When I use the "new font for classic UI" option, which font is used and where is is used? I can see the desktop icons font changes. 1
NoBuggingPlz Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Another bug I found with 3.8.3 With Firefox I get a list of open windows, very nice, but the list is way too small to read the text. With Notepad, I get a preview of the windows which I don't need as I still don't know what I need. I would like to have the text list for all apps. Is there a setting? I can see the desktop icons font changes. It uses Segoe UI Variable font, and it's used in the taskbar, start menu, desktop icons as you said, tooltips, menus, and context menu as well. (the updates have been coming for some time, via Windows update) I have already written to him twice about this, he says it is a beta version, which is not true. 1

I don't know what your gripe is but changes to the taskbar were made because of Microsoft, not because Tihiy wanted to rewrite the taskbar. 1

Look no matter what the app costs, it is still a paid license for the app. And it has this forum for help, feedback etc. doesn't it? I asked for help, then repeated pleasantly with a second post which was removed (why?), then because my plead for help has been removed I became annoyed and said so in a third post which was also removed, my fourth post I asked for a refund because I don't know where you are from, but in my country customer is always right no matter how small the exchange is. Now I looked at your post history and you are getting help and providing feedback, like I tried to be, but for some reason you became overprotective on the developer's behalf, why exactly? I didn't fault him for anything, or for something Microsoft did, but asked for a feature and provided feedback like everyone else on this forum, my posts being ignored and then removed should be unacceptable for everyone here as well, and developer can defend his own thinking there for removals, I don't know why anyone else should get involved or become their advocate.... 1 hour ago, mackid1993 said: The app is like $5. I mean you should also ask yourself; how would you feel if your feedback posts and asking for assistance posts got removed without explanation or any kind of response? It is easy to paint me as problem, but I did nothing wrong, and behaving like everyone posting here then my posts got deleted, what would you do in my shoes?
dpling Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Great work, I only use Taskbar and I love being able to use Double Height taskbar again (I have Start menu turned off). Sadly, I notice it hangs regularly and restarts itself since upgrade to 3.8.x (and Win11 updated to 24H2!). The taskbar becomes unresponsive and I get spinny blue wheel, then finally restarts itself after up to 30s or more. I'm using Surface Pro 8 i5 16GB RAM. 1
