NotHereToPlayGames Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Oh... I recall at least as high as 13.5.2044. Probably even "newer". So a 13.5.1039 does exist. Our corporate IT department was always blind to all of my builds as far as telemetry traffic. Something exists in 2044 that flagged IT. I didn't bother to isolate the specifics as I prefer 1030.

Dave-H Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 FWIW, I'm still using 13.5.2036, which has served me well for getting on for a couple of years now. I'm starting to see malfunctions as well now of course, very often just blank pages. The wine merchant I use, whose site has always worked fine, now also has a problem, OK on the login and account pages, but every catalogue page now loads and then crashes to this - I guess Chromium version 86 is now just too old to be compatible with current standards, but it was a good run. I'm on the point of deciding to reconfigure my system so Thorium is my default browser instead of 360Chrome.
DrWho3000 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 not sure how to do all that i might have to revert to chrome of FF like Dave-H or a diffferent browser we did have a good run i rather like 360EE as it was portable and lightweight
NotHereToPlayGames Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I like Thorium also. I've had good success with it on my two remaining XP machines. My XP machines really hate UXP-based browsers (Serpent 52 and New Moon 28) for some reason. Major memory leaks. Very slow and sluggish. Too many unresolved bugs that keep piling up on top of each other. Not enough WEEKLY bug testers so a bug isn't found for SEVERAL MONTHS and nobody can pin down precisely when the bug first appeared.
DrWho3000 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 (edited) looks like I can no longer get netflix on 360ee upto last week i could what is best thorium browser will give that a try thorium wont install dont see a exe in the github trpositry Edited August 2, 2024 by DrWho3000

Run that. That's the installer. https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/releases/tag/122.0.6261.171 Edited August 3, 2024 by mina7601
DrWho3000 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 (edited) Managed to get Thorium to work Can I copy + Paste Cookies and Passwords from 360EE data to Thorium How do I set it so when I click Home button it open in a new tab How do i get rid of the apps tab ? it didnt import bookmarks well slowly sorting that out EDIT: managed to get rid of apps tab Edited August 3, 2024 by DrWho3000
Dave-H Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 When I first installed Thorium (and Supermium) I simply replaced their user data folders with the one from my 360Chrome installation. This worked fine and almost everything came across OK. It's all Chromium, so that should work, at least as a starting point. 1
DrWho3000 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 is there a extension to place tabs below the bookmarks like you could do in FF

Dave-H Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 The files are in the User Data\Default folder. Passwords are in the 'Login Data' file. The Cache is in the 'Cache' folder, not surprisingly! I don't know where cookies are stored, but I'm sure a quick Google search (other search engines are available) will tell you. If Thorium is much slower using the user data from 360Chrome than it was before, try disabling all the extensions and see if it speeds up. You may have had extensions in 360Chrome which don't play well with Thorium. It took me a bit of tweaking to get that right, but using the 360Chrome data was a good starting point, and all my bookmarks and saved password data carried across fine. 2

Why would you need XP browsers, then? If you're a die-hard of China issued browsers, I suggest this one. Minimum telemetry, very fast! Works on Win7+. Dave, sorry for the slight off-top. https://msfn.org/board/topic/186346-i-moved-to-centbrowser-i-feel-happy-about-it/ https://static.centbrowser.com/win_stable/5.1.1130.129/centbrowser_5.1.1130.129_x64_portable.exe Be Warned Some Telemetry is still there. I also used to make the mistake of thinking that running an x86 program on an x64 machine was a good idea - IT ISN'T nowadays, there used to be some benefit several years ago, but not really the case nowadays.
