My Browser Builds (Part 2)

Recommended Posts

Sigh of relief. My issues regarding google accounts in general and a handful of other sites  have been fixed as from last Friday. It had been like that since the 13th of November. The culprit was my cableTV+ Internet service provider. I had to install windows 7 pro 64bits (  dual booting ) since the problem for some reason that am not aware of ,did not affect win7 to that extend.

Win 7. As it seems also the Mozilla 23 min bug is fixed ( latest Mozilla and official palemoon ) This goes for all sites.

Win xp.  roytams1 New Moon works fine on youtube no bug , however all other sites present this symptom.

:D

Cheers.

What is the difference of them? Is the latter only for intel CPU?

normal UXP builds require SSE2, while IA32 builds don't require it. please checkout FAQ in 1st reply in this thread. search "c000001d" and read the answer.

Thank you for these links! First link of HTML5 check (by YouTube on WaybackMachine)) works very good!:worship:

- but direct Tek Eye video tests are dead: all videos have "No video with supported format and MIME type found" inscription.

Here you have working Tek Eye tests - links on WaybackMachine:

From Jul 27, 2018: http://web.archive.org/web/20180727134732/http://tekeye.uk/html/html5-video-test-page

From Aug 07, 2018: http://web.archive.org/web/20180807035203/http://tekeye.uk/html/play-video-in-html5

last working web archive capture of the original page is from last May 5th 2019

- it works sometimes on Ogg/Theora last video ... (it's not downloading here...)

Good working on 3 videos quirksmode.org capture from Feb 08,2019 here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20190208172243/http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html

Edit:

hmm no more problems with your link, sorry

... This was addressed before in these threads ;) - youtube (read Google) have themselves disabled the checking functionality on that page, in early autumn of this year :realmad: ; to them, it's redundant now, since all the latest versions of the browsers they endorse returned all 6 blue checks... They DON'T CARE about older versions of browsers run on older, unsupported, Windows OSes... :realmad:

Workaround:
1. Use the last archived edition of the page (it actually works even now!)

YouTube HTML5 Video Player
http://web.archive.org/web/20190805082454/https://www.youtube.com/html5

2. Use an alternate checking service:

Tek Eye HTML5 Video Test Page
https://tekeye.uk/html/html5-video-test-page

https://tekeye.uk/html/play-video-in-html5

In SSE https://www.youtube.com/html5

is working again after an interruption which i documented. this will come:
https://www.youtube.com/supported_browsers
"

You're awesome!

That's right! Your browser is up-to-date, which means you can use YouTube's latest features. Enjoy!"

2. and could finally download and play locally only (webM-file)youtube videos(the beatles) with ant video downloader 2.7.4.47(DL always beforehand but didnt play. complete youtube saver nonworking since a long time.
its a webM-file for local playing nonworking in WMP.
Must open a seperate question about that since it may be caused by a wrong association. Behaviour on admin-account was different. DL was only possible in one account(restricted or admin)

And no, not willing to test anything here, related to (TOR) VPN type services.

But Zenmate or Browsec proxy extensions are not related nor similar to TOR ... Maybe these don't work cause the old age crisis, who knows

UOC Patch  + Enforcer
Hope i can ask here since this advise is unclear:
"One thing to watch out for: the file names are different (e.g., UOC_Patch_38.js vs. UOC_Patch_45.js). So besides copying the _38.js files, you also need to delete the *_45.js files you copied earlier; otherwise NM 27 will load both and the result will probably not be what you want!"
Since i installed Newmoon, KM-goanna for the first time with installer(patch enforcer installed beforehand) i dont know why i should have copied   *_45.js files.

pls tell me what to do next. Normal instructions are clear. we discussed.

----------------------------

you also need to delete the *_45.js files you copied earlier
pls explain what is meant with   "copied earlier.* dont know or dont remember have done patching one time.

Thanks. While the FAQ seems contrary to what you said:

Q: I'm getting 0xC000001D error when starting Serpent/UXP-ia32 browser!
A: your processor does not support CMOV instruction. VC2015 IA32 build requires CMOV instruction support. here is a list of processors with CMOV instruction support:
- Intel: Pentium Pro or later

Is CMOV a SSE2 instruction?

The LIVE (i.e. non-archived) edition of the Tek Eye test page loads and works fine here (Serpent 52.9.0) :

So, whatever issues you're having must be at your end... ;)

Hmm... so my question is: why direct Tek Eye tests doesn't work here, and by WaybackMachine are working?

Maybe this same problem to me on Forbes link to test: NO pictures in all RoyTam1's browsers (but works on RoyTam1's Borealis only...): https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2017/07/24/sorry-internet-some-of-your-favorite-space-pictures-are-fakes/

Another test - this Twitter video: "The media could not be played" (but play on original website): https://twitter.com/metpoliceuk/status/1176527283563245569

OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc - I've disabled in plugins here.

My mistake somewhere in about:config is possible ...

PS.

Antutu HTML5 tests (click Test button): https://www.antutu.com/html5/ - I've little window: "parent.RankDataLists is undefined." My result: 12141 points ...(in Serpent 55).

Am afraid no-one else but you can answer that question ;) ... Only you know the exact configuration of your OS/system and your browsers - the rest of us here trying to help are not clairvoyants; and, as you can imagine, all have our personal issues in both digital (!) and real life...

So, when asking for help, be extremely precise about your CPU/OS and browser; and in the case of browser, type/version/architecture/EXTENSIONS/user-modified prefs are of high importance! Then, of course, there are cases where manifested issues are due to factors beyond your control, e.g. hick-ups at your ISP or server-specific outages... Many things can go wrong (but, thankfully, few do at the same time...) !

You have proclaimed your "love" for using Proxies, VPNs and privacy related tools; a shot in the wild, but maybe one of these is the cause for your issues? And I'll emphasise once again that the first troubleshooting step when it comes to browser problems is to START WITH A BRAND NEW (CLEAN) PROFILE (no extensions, default "GUI" and "hidden" settings), using your DIRECT ISP  connection - if you can't reproduce the problem there, then you know it's caused by something YOU did... ;)

This is only used within a WebRTC context (not supported in New Moon, but is supported in Serpent 52/55); if you're on Windows XP (with SP3 I presume, fully updated until the EOS MS updates), then by default New Moon 28/Serpent 52.9.0/Serpent 55.0.0 will come with a bundled h264/aac decoder (in the form of a custom ffvpx library - make sure media.ffvpx.enabled (in about:config) is in its default value, true); so you shouldn't have MP4 video playback issues... :dubbio:

Thanks to your link and related wiki articles, I learned that cmov instruction is introduced *before* SSE. As my CPU Intel Core2 Duo T8100 support both of them, the two builds should both work. Anyway I have downloaded IA32 build so I give it a try, and it crashed upon opening (I closed normal build first, then opened IA32 build that I extracted to another directory, so they shared the same profile and opened the same web page):

temp.PNG.a6d9260e55c785a9a95a5bda220ddfb3.PNG

I don't know if it helps, for I am not the targeted user of the build. Just FYI.

do you updated your XP? and do you have enough memory? 256MB is minimal requirement.
