GrandAdmiralThrawn Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 This bug also exists in Firefox 52.x ESR + Adobe Primetime on XP. I don't know what the cause is though. 1
zipandlips Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Yes, this bug with Adobe Primetime on XP is very annoying! the builds are excellent, but this bug spoils everything

Thanks. I've been wondering for some time if using Primetime would bypass the 23 min. bug. Sorry to hear it doesn't, but at least now we all know. The bug probably appears in all recent FF versions and forks, including PM/NM and Basilisk/Serpent. Does anyone know of any exceptions? Basilisk 55 perhaps? Or do we just have to use Chrome/Chromium for long YouTube videos?
GrandAdmiralThrawn Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 You can always just rip the videos to local disk using Video DownloadHelper or online services like y2mate, but of course, a lot of people might not want to do that. If that bug could be fixed, it'd be really awesome!

You watch, watch the stream and somewhere after 30 minutes the video stops and freezes! You have to restart the stream and everything is restored! You shouldn't need to restart the stream, just hitting the left arrow key and then the right arrow key should do it - this jumps you 5 seconds back and then 5 seconds forward to where you were before (in case some other page element has focus, you may need to click on the video first). It's still an annoyance, but much less disruptive this way. I pretty much do it on autopilot at this point, after years of practice courtesy of Mozilla. This works at most other video sites as well. since most players bind these keys similarly. Edited October 19, 2018 by mixit 1

zipandlips Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 All builds will be considered incomplete without solving the problem with error 23 minutes! I think this is the most important problem of builds!

I think this is the most important problem of builds! roytam1 has expressly stated that this is a Mozilla bug and they have not been able to sort it out.( Or maybe they can't be arsed ) Quite recently a friend of mine ( windows 7, latest Mozilla version ) mentioned that you tube videos freeze at about 46 minutes. I reckon I will have to check that with my other PC OS win 7 64 bits. I do not know when though. Cheers Edited October 19, 2018 by Tangy Further more 1

Jody Thornton Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 @roytam1I was trying to go back and find when your last Tycho build was. I recall you had one that was post v27.9.4, but were there any after that?

I recall you had one that was post v27.9.4, but were there any after that? nope, my latest tycho builds are 27.9.1a1-20180825-84be542d0, but actually beyond 27.9.4 level. I haven't update it for a while since I don't have enough time to port new changes to it. if your profile was already touched by PM28, don't directly use it in 27 builds because it will corrupt when you downgrade it. In such situation you should create a new profile for PM27 use. Edited October 20, 2018 by roytam1 1
Jody Thornton Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 No I understand they were 27.9.1x (but that's what I meant is that they were beyond 27.9.4 level - that's fine) So I'm not running Pale/New Moon on my Windows 8 box. I was just curious for my mom's PC, and they're still on v27.x, so we're good there. I haven't seen a post for a new one since late August. Is that correct?
