Skype 8 needed on WinXP because of Classic Skype (v. 7.36) EOL in September 2018. Possible?

Skype is closed source and we cannot look at the code. Besides, recently Microsoft just updated Skype to "Skype app for Windows" which uses functions available in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Anyway, someone might think that it might be worth backporting the Windows 7 version.

Yes, but there no way  to make calls without plugin.
