zipzap Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Video Bruce. If you are worried about any site looking through your system I would be worried what WGA does.Just do a google search on it and see what Microsoft does. You Might be better off removing it.?Take a look at this URL. http://windowssecrets.com/comp/060615/That http://windizupdate.com/ - firefox + their extension used to work well.Pity it appears to be closing. videobruce Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I can assure you if I have no intention of using that other site, I sure as hell would never use M$ site for anything. That is the absolutely last place I would go other than to hell or to have dinner with Bush & Cheney.
Breezer Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Nuhi, for “Small pictures in menu start” I did two things: - In Unattended setup, tab Desktop themes I checked Start menu classic. - In Tweaks/Startmenu I also checked Start menu classic. In Explorer I use classic Windows-maps. A few editions of nLite ago I could set the maximum for System Restore to 5%, or any other percentage under 10. Of course I can correct this after installing, for every partition separately. Now the preset is of no use to me. After integration of SP2 in windows XP the file Win51ic.sp1 is not deleted. The files sp1.cab and sp1.cat are also not deleted, but all files are already replaced with the files in sp2.cab.
V@no Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Is there a way disable system restore for all drives/partions EXCEPT for the drive with windows on (C:/)
Outbreaker Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) LITTLE BUGIf i click in nLite to remove MSN Massager or Netmeeting or Movie Maker it gets removed but the empty folders still exists in "C:\Program Files" Edited January 10, 2008 by Outbreaker
DizzyDen Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Nuhi, thank you for all of your hard work on this project, I know the difficulties keeping so many projects going, XP Vista, 2k3, 2k8 etc.....One issue I am having now though, integrating my own update pack, nlite no longer works, RVMI works fine with it.The error I get is:The Update Pack includes January 2008 updates and can be dl'd here:http://rapidshare.com/files/83191931/DD_SP...ePack_080111.7z
chris.b Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 A few editions of nLite ago I could set the maximum for System Restore to 5%, or any other percentage under 10. Of course I can correct this after installing, for every partition separately. Now the preset is of no use to me.You can edit this manually before creating ISO in winnt.sif in this part :[SystemRestore]MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk=3RestorePointLife=7 But nuhi was talking about any bug of this ...After integration of SP2 in windows XP the file Win51ic.sp1 is not deleted. The files sp1.cab and sp1.cat are also not deleted, but all files are already replaced with the files in sp2.cab.That's right but this isn't done by manually slipstreaming SP2 too - that's why I prefer to use a clean XP Pro rtm/sp0 here for slipping ANY SP!But you can use "merge cabs" (??? usually I see it in german ) in Options page of nLite to merge driver.cab and any other spX.cab in one file.I dunno what happens to the spX.cat file and the win51ix.spX tag file - maby this is a hint for nuhis todo list? But it's his decision.kindly reminding for examing/todo list : Server 2003x64 sp2 ger + IE7x64 ger problem
