  1. WindizUpdate was basically disconntinued in November 2007... see
  2. "Boot and Shutdown" -> "Disable automatic restart on System Failure" has never worked for me either...
  3. Well, that is good to know, Martin. I guess I am doing something which resets this somehow. I'll just leave it in my tweaks file for now. I have just started playing with nLite for the last few weeks so I am still undecided about having nLite apply these tweaks or using my own tweak files after the install.
  4. Well, I was able to adjust the SystemRoot key/variable to C:\Windows (rather than C:\WINDOWS) by editing the boot.ini file: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect So I guess this is where the SystemRoot key is set from. It would still be nice to know if it is possible to create a mixed case install folder from the get go but this does satisfy my aesthetic needs
  5. Is it possible to install Windows to a folder named "Windows" rather than "WINDOWS"? None of the install methods I have tried so far have yielded a mixed-case install folder. I can rename the folder after the install by booting with a BartPE disk but that still leaves %SystemRoot% set to x:\WINDOWS! Alternately, is there a way to adjust the SystemRoot variable? I already tried changing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRoot but it keeps getting reset on reboot. I realize this is a completely aesthetic/cosmetic issue but that all-caps folder just annoys me Thanks for any help.
  6. Isn't this tweak "Boot and Shutdown-Disable automatic restart on System Failure" supposed to set the following registry key? ; disable automatic restart in the event of a BSOD ;[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl] "AutoReboot"=dword:00000000 On my last actual install and a couple of test installs with Virtual PC, AutoReboot was not set to 0 also looking in system properties automatic restart was still enabled. The tweak is listed in nlite.ini: [T] HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl","AutoReboot",0x00010001,0
  7. nuhi, actually the time zone issue seems to be my screwup. I checked some of my older session files and found this: TimeZone = (GMT-05:00) Bogota, Lima, Quito So I probably picked the wrong time zone at first and then corrected it at some point. Sorry for the false report. According the sysprep help file, the Bogota, Lima, Quito time zone is 045 and the USA Eastern time zone is 035. FF
  8. I have run into a small bug while using nLite 1.4 beta: Time zone 35 (USA Eastern) was put in the WINNT.SIF file as 035 which shows up in Windows XP Pro as Bogota, Quito, Lima. This time zone seems to have different daylight savings time settings than USA Eastern. Even though both these time zone are GMT-5 they are not equivalent. I manually edited the WINNT.SIF file and changed the 035 to 35 and the right time zone is set. Sorry if this has been already reported. Is there an option or tweak to disable Remote Assistance? Great program BTW, I had heard/read about nLite before but this is the first time I actually started playing with it. FF
