  1. Since there is no Win10 unattended subforum I am placing this here: How to set the default program by a command (CMD) or Powershell or registery modification? I have searched a lot and only found a way to associate files to specific programs, but that will only add them to the context menu list (Open With...>): @echo onassoc .mkv=MPC-BE.AssocFile.MKVftype MPC-BE.AssocFile.MKV=c:\Program Files\MPC-BE x64\mpc-be64.exe "%1"pauseThe command assoc creates the file type in the registry, the command ftype associates the program. In this example, "MPC-BE" is just a name that I use, you can also use "MPCHC or MPC or whatever, just as long as it matches the same you use in ftype command. But HOW can we set default program? I am particularly intested in: PDF, video files, image editor (Paint.net), 7z/zip. Paint.net silent install arguments do work, but the ones that set the file type associations do not work in Windows 10. (again, only added to the context menu "Open With..." not the context menu "edit". In win7 it worked flawlessly).
  2. What is the deal with the Windows 10 Start Menu? All online guides explain you can export and import it by backing up some files, but these files do not exist anymore in the final version of Windows 10. I figured out a way to actually export the whole Start Menu layout by using this Powershell command: Open Powershell with admin rights (or click WIN+X, select "Command Prompt (Admin)", type powershell and hit enter): Export-StartLayout -Path C:\StartLayout.XMLThis works, the XML file actually contains the layout. But I do not know how to import it to an existing Win10 machine. This is the documentation from Microsoft: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/mt171092%28v=vs.85%29.aspx But this only works by importing the XML file into a Windows Image. Since most people simply install Windows via the free upgrade, I need a way to import it on an exisiting Win 10 installation. Any ideas?
  3. Hello there, I've downloaded the newest aero glass version on my system and installed it, but after the installation a window saying something about incompatibility on my system with aero glass, even though it worked back when I installed it for the first time. I once had it installed on the same system and it worked, then I've uninstalled it and now I've installed it once again because my interest for the program came back. So, as soon as the incompatibility error window popped up, I've began receiving enormous lags and error sounds each time a lag occured, causing a black screen for a second. They stopped after about ten seconds, but as soon as I began moving my mouse, the lags etc. come back, making my system uncontrollable. I went into secure mode and removed the program and now my computer is fine. I'd like to ask for some help because I really want to use this on my system. I'm on a Windows 10 64x bit computer. Oh and by the way, when I installed it, I had the aero lite theme activated which may have caused this to happen, but now I don't have any theme and it still happens when I install it newly.

  7. Get colored title bars in Windows 10 Since Windows 10 build 10056, Microsoft has blocked colored titlebars for all opened windows. Many users find this change extremely frustrating because it doesn't make it clear whether the window is active or inactive. It is a major usability violation. Here is how to fix it and restore colored titlebars in Windows 10 easily. Continue at source..
  8. Microsoft has recently announced that Windows 10 will be available on the new Raspberry Pi 2 released just this month. The Raspberry Pi 2 is still the same $35 price and small form factor as its predecessors, but now boasts a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 CPU @ 900 MHz and 1 GB of RAM! Windows 10 will be free for members of the Windows Developer Program for IoT. I'm glad to see Microsoft become involved with Raspberry Pi development. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. https://dev.windows.com/en-us/featured/raspberrypi2support
