  1. All cards will run under any OS, or Command line if you have the drivers installed. You need the drivers ( or files that can be used as drivers ) to run any card. Even the most expensive cards can run in 98, 95, Unix, Linux, Sun, and any other you can think of. You also need to know how to iinstall the drivers. Most cards have installation guides with them. If it can't install the card then it is a proprietary card made to push you into buying the next OS installation or is not made for that OS. More recent proprietary cards have all kinds of tools that you would have to use like temperature agent, speed guide, and over clocking options.
  2. Well 98 is the last real Windows OS that stays true and logically can support all Windows previous programs. All we need is a list of programs that is usable in DOS and all previous windows or anything else that can be accessed and tada 98 is here forever. Also when you go to websites some how there is a script that can read your OS, IP Address, and even Bios. Everytime somebody using a 98 machine access one of these pages or connects to a service they could tell. Also it might be a mistake since they may be talking about ME or even 95 that is on the Network. I love 98. It can run most newer games with no flaws, It is stable stand alone, and has so much support. I only wish newer programs like Quark X and Microsoft Works X would have support threw hacks or even upgrades like Open Office. Back then ( I mean 2000 or when XP was out ) the most used OS was Windows 95. Everywhere you can find windows 95 installed on a machine.
  3. I am guessing you want to run a server that cators to players in a MMO setting like Kalleria or Warppipe?? in this case it is limited to few people??? Whatever game you would need to setup a server first then run the game and point it to that server. in terms of a box that input the address not basic programming or low level programming.
  4. There is tools to make your CD-ROM appear as drive D again for Windows SE98. 98se will puch it's CD-rom over when any other drives unincluded outside drives like FLASH and Floppy Drives. The tool is posted around here somewhere and I do not know where it is. ------------- I am only guessing IT sounds like you installed the drive but your PC limitation forced the drive to part???? Or what you can do is transfer the data from the partitian you do not want, erase it and then merge it with the other partitian. I don't know the effects or cautions of merging a drive all I know is that in some cases the OS will pick it up in scandisk and ask to recover disk space or it will automatically show up with the remianing data. Backing up/Erasing is a suggestiong
  5. I knew I was a PS3 person!
  6. I am talking about on the internet of course. I want to buy MSX hardware but I am unable to find any sellers? Also about Live sellers outside the internet???
  7. 1. Somebody mentioned to me and many other people you can tell windows to allocate memory to the HD. 2. There is a memory leak problem that was removed that could be turned on again to slove this. 3. It should automatically work but I never reached over 1Gig margin. 4. You might have to go into the registery and edit some settings?? 5. You can probably allocate memory to memory you have installed as limited storage. 6. AGP cards???? can be directed to use other memory I just forget where to. In most cases you need to tell it in the settings and it can see the extra memory it just has to reach it. 7. DOS is not stone age nore is Basic get one of those mini Super computers that schools had with the big cassette on it back when they said computers was going to get bigger. The MicroComputer is the average Labtop/PC desktop. Even a Super Computer is not stone age and those where the first ones. People still use Micro-computers
  8. Cd's put them in one folder but for the rest leave them in the main music directory where you store your other data. For me I have them where I use random music to play background music like GTA or MUGEN.
  9. 1. Well there is no real limit but in terms of playing blu-ray movies on a computer you will need something close to around 500mhz. This is me guessing from my time laying DVD on my computer. However nowadays most people will say you will need at least 1Ghz. About memory you will need at least 256Mb but most people will say 1Gig. I say 1Ghz since playing HD video clips on my PC is slow. 2. It does not matter when running Blu-ray to buy a chipset. In terms of speed go with the faster one but it will not make a diffrence. I would take any chipset I could get my hands on. 3. Most of any recent cards will give you a smooth playback. I am talking about G4 cards since the X-box was released. These Newer cards seems to make playback super smooth on most machines even ones under 1Ghz. Those cards now go for less then 9.99 in the right places. Alos in terms of movies and games it is probably just cheaper to buy a PS3 and fiddle around with it but of course I am not talking about running blu-ray games on PC.
  10. Yes you could allways make a trade list and advertise it and hope somebody clicks on it. Then there is the webiste setup.
  11. Man how time flies and I using a 256MB flash and my other one that costed 27 dollars got lost outside I have been seeing advertisments for these on ebay. I thought these were fake all along. You need evidence from multiple users of the same hardware. FAT16 can hold up to 2GIG FAT32 can hold a 3.99gig file and format up to 2TB NTFS can hold even father then Exabytes
  12. Okay well this drive a Magic Spin 48X DVD+ drive smashed my only Win98 copy. It sounded like zappppppppp when it did. This is not the first time a drive smashed a CD. Another drive a MTRP CD 52X smashed my SIMS:Living It Large. The point is now when i go shopping for drives I would rather order a drive before they made software Region coding and lesser speeds like a 30X at least. Back to what I saying So like a fool I decided to open the drive and shake out the shards of my 98 disc ( which I realize I could have use as evidence against there shotty drive. ) Then I put the lid back on BANG ZOOOMM!!!! it started to do this Light on Eject Light off and it stays like this forever unless I push the cart in Light off Insert Light on and then repeat This continues over and over and over again. The light does not change color or blinks to indicate reading. All I get is the light not even blinking or anything. I tried shcnaging settings still nothing. I can only guess the DVD-rom has some kind of Eppee-rom inside that is light sensitive and it's built in Flash brains is scrambled saying to go backwards or something. Or something is stuck inside that is making the drive not read at all ( which I highly doubt )????? Since the drive is "busted" I was thinking off attempting to upgrade the flash software to make it Region free. Is there any soft that I can use to Upgrade the built in Region software??? Is there anything else I should be aware of??? Sooo I have data I wrote to it and since this is the only + readable drive I have to wait until later to get another one.
  13. I dislike the fact they made it more GUI then technical. Also a fellow Secratary was ticked off when using the layout options. " I don't like to do my layouts this way" They complained about this for a good 30 minutes. I am referencing to Microsoft Office 2007 the most newest one. Good lord we had 2003 last year and then they drop this nonsense on us. Even the proffessor was like oh they do this way. DOES ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO BOOT IT IN CLASSIC MODE?????
  14. This is me Defraging with the built in 98 defrager. After the few times this occured I quit defragging. My pc runs faster alone without defragging.
  15. How does a HD store data and why is hard to recover When you delete something it marks it as delete but the truth is the file is there. It is until you add something to the drive it writes to that same spot as the drive. This is why if you preview incomplete videos you will see parts of other video data that was previously stored. however zero filling the drive and thus marking everything in zero will completely render most data to be recovered. What is zero filling? Is how you or anybody else want to perminantly delete data by marking it zeros. Magnatising and demaganatising. Is done with a special magnet that makes all ++++ and - - - - point into one direction and thus complete wipe the drive clean but it can perminantly damage the drive. Data recovery software The one I use is "Recover My Files Plus" and like other people said you need to wait until you can see everything then thing is you can't save to that same partitian. However I have been unsucesfull fully recovering a video clip big like 200MB or even 700MB. You need a descrambler for bigger files. Remember the bigger and more safisticated a file the harder it is to recover. Video and Audio files is compressed. Word files tends to be small and image files can recover but the image might be missing BITS and thus parts will be lost forever and can be seen easily. Why can't my computer read a partitian FAT32 can only read FAT32 and FAT16 NTFS can only read NTFS etc whatever Linux, Unix, Playstation , Apple, and any other OS/Format can read can read it's own. The only way you can view files and use them freely if the OS or you install a format reader which is somewhere on these forums. There is billions and billlions of format types like the so called FAT64 that can read over 4gigs and Win98 was adjusted to write on FAT64 it would slove many problems or even Green-Ray and Yellow-Ray which is going to take over blu-ray along with other format types that is "exprimental" or "unreleased" dew to consumer copying. Even TAPE can have these or any other format/storage types.
  16. I store video clips and sound files and the last time I defraged my HD it scrambled the files. Defraging aranges the data chunks so that it is in order and thus you have a slightly faster exprience of using your computer. But Files are in chains and thus the defraging moves the cluster at which the file is stored.
  17. The emulators znes and snes9x both reduce the file size of the save file size from 32kb to 8kb or even 2kb. The 32kb file is the memory from the copier itself that I put on the HD. The problem is that after the file size is changed, converted, or whatever I am unable to load that same now whatever size file to the copier. The copier will only read a file that has not been altared that originally came from it. I just want to continue my game from where I left off on the computer but on my SNES. I can load the game but not any saves from the computer that was played via emulator. I tried padding the file and using that other program BEXPAND but I still get the same error. ERROR: No Program It is like the file is in a completely diffrent format. That is what I am guessing. I still don't understand what changes in the file when I load it to or from a emulator???
  18. now how do I use it to make the file bigger without damage the file???
  19. I choose to put this here since this would apply to many other obsticles and tasks. I use a game/program copier. A device that allows you to backup and play backups of various game programs. It creates save files in the size of 32KB but never 2kb or 8kb or any other size. I need a program that will change a 2kb or whatever file into a 32kb file size so that I can load my saves I use on my computer. The funny thing is the emulator I use will load the 32kb file and automatically change it to 2kb or whatever apply to the sav file size. However the copier refuse to load file unless it is 32kb but more importantly a 32kb sav file it can read. I heard there is software for this.
  20. Check to see if PSO Blue Burst can work. I heard it is free but will shut down later.
  21. Well for starters your webpage is kinda baren. I like the intro but the whole place looks like space waiting to be filled. I understand that you want people to enter your page and so forth but as a person who is starting to admire the idea of reading news you need to have pictures, articles, and etc about people dumping people nationwide. Also personally people just put up there XXX tapes and photos that was private after being dumped or dump the person either way which is not a new thing. Especially the young adults and college students for years have been doing this forever. Mature adults do not do it since nobody is going to know who they are and they get usted to the corperate, monopoly life. You would need to have a reports on who dropped who and so forth or something like that and show links and reports of actions. Your website would be something like tonned down version of Cheaters if anybody really cares.
  22. The so called doctos still don't know what they are doing and that is how I feel about cnacer research.
  23. Well you need to browse a NTFS HD with another NTFS enabled computer as a secondary drive. All HD material can be recovered even after being smashed to bits. In your case of the drive being together you need to see in the bootup ( by pressing F1 or DELETE or whatever ) if the HD is appearing and showing all the space like mine would be around 129989MB even if it can go oup to 114GB. If the HD is not showing all data it might be the data cable ( in my case a IDE cable ) and you need to change the IDE cable with a new IDE cable ( not damage another cable from another computer that you use. Like I broke the IDE cable of other computers from swapping drives threw the cable. ) from a store. Another thing to do when turning on the PC listen to see if you can even hear the drive. Since this is not a Solid state drive it will make niose from the moving parts when loading. It should allways sound a certain way like my drive was smooth with no niose now I can hear it when I turn on the PC. Also XP tends to screw around with the BIOS settings and for some reason prevents other HD to load up in the same PC.
  24. Solid StatE drives is nothing special. All early computer storage was Solid State in terms of on board storage. Lab top drives is slid state drives and can take a fall for many years thus driving up cost. The USB flash is practically a solid state drive. No! you can't get one not even if it was b-day and you was in the burn ward, if you was Birdy in the Insane Asylum, if you destoryed the evil king, and brought green peace to the land
  25. Well since this is cancer they have a new treatment where they put metal in the cancerous cells and then use radiowaves to heat up those cells. Cimo Thearpy hurts the body and is practically like taking bleach to kill aids which in truth is going to you. I don't think your mom should switch medications for Cimo Thearpy since the body is already suing on medicine. Speaking of which somebody is like a mom figure passed away from cancer. It was devistating. I know this is not a good thing but you should consider checking your mom if she has a will and that everybody knows what to do if the worst ever arise. You should try to see if that cancer treatment where they implant metal and then heat up only those cells. About Radiation they usted to sell it in stores one time but after WWII I am guessin that is a thing of the past. I know it is going to hurt if that ever occurs. Speaking of weak your mom sound very seriously ill and should never life anything at all. You should try and be with your mom every chance you get. I hugged somebody who had cnacer and snap there back but they was okay and yet I never knew how much they was hurting inside. never mix drugs also.
