  1. Hello, I have 16GB Flash Drive and it seems fake. I think its true size around 200MB (its real commercial capacity might be 256MB) ( I have fill it with audio files they work before 200MB; and file after that are corrupted ). I want to show the true Capacity. I have tried iformat 4.18, iformat2 1.19 and 1.32, pdx8_2k_v327 and PDx16. But non of these show the flash drive. I have another fake 16GB drive before and its true size was 2GB, PDx16 and iformat2 1.32 were detecting it and I used iformt2 1.32. But this time these software didn't work I want to show the true Capacity To safe uncorrupted files. These Are information f the Flash Drive: Name: Flash Disk (USB1.1) Logic Driver: J:\ VID&PID: Vid_2008&Pid_2018 Speed: full speed VendorID: USB 2.0 ProductID: Flash Disk Product Revision: 2.00 Vendor Description: USB 2.0 Product Description: Flash Disk Serial Number: O20070925A000110 the USB port information: Device Descriptor: bcdUSB: 0x0110 bDeviceClass: 0x00 bDeviceSubClass: 0x00 bDeviceProtocol: 0x00 bMaxPacketSize0: 0x40 (64) idVendor: 0x2008 idProduct: 0x2018 bcdDevice: 0x0000 iManufacturer: 0x01 iProduct: 0x02 iSerialNumber: 0x03 bNumConfigurations: 0x01 ConnectionStatus: DeviceConnected Current Config Value: 0x01 Device Bus Speed: Full Device Address: 0x03 Open Pipes: 2 Endpoint Descriptor: bEndpointAddress: 0x81 Transfer Type: Bulk wMaxPacketSize: 0x0040 (64) bInterval: 0x00 Endpoint Descriptor: bEndpointAddress: 0x00 Transfer Type: Control wMaxPacketSize: 0x0507 (1287) wInterval: 0x0201 bSyncAddress: 0x40
  2. I never boot in Dod do how I can excess my the file part244.exe if I am in DOS
  3. I tried to format the Disk as NTFS but the format failed. If it is not possible to show the true Capacity, Is there easy way to partition the Flash drive so I can put 1.95GB in First one and the rest in the second one.; and Can this solve the problem? I mean is the first portion of storing will go to the first disk.
  4. I have added the test method I used to confirm that I have approximately 1.95GB that I can store files without corruption.
  5. HUH? If it is only 1.95 gigs then it is a 2 gig USB drive. You got suckered. You need to follow the links in the previous post and get your money back. My memorex 2 gig USB drive shows as 1.91 gigs. I want solution to show the true capacity. I am not talking about getting my money back. Yep, we got that. 1.95 Gb is NOT however an exact capacity, the actual "RAW" capacity of a stick depends on the kind of Flash IC are inside it, theoretically capacity goes like this: 128 Mb 131.072.000 bytes 256 Mb 262.144.000 bytes 512 Mb 524.288.000 bytes 1 Gb 1.048.576.000 bytes 2 Gb 2.097.152.000 bytes some controllers leave this entire capacity "available", some use part of this capacity for internal use, knowing the exact (in bytes) amount of available space may help in identifying the controller. jaclaz the used space after formatting the Flash Drive is 16KB. I have check the acual size by adding several wav aduio files of size 860 KB using a code in bat file, the file were working until 1.95GB after that if I add one file it will work have the audio clip and the next one I add doesn't work. so the aproximate maximum size of files that I can but in the flash drive is 1.95 GB (2,103,115,776 bytes). THis is aproximation because if I add file less than 500KB might work but bigger than that will not work.
  6. I have edit my first post to have more information about my flash drive.
  7. How I can bot reformat it as NTFS; the normal way doesn't work only FAT32 is given as a choice. I know that the flash drive is fake. It is approximately 1.95GB but I want to show its true capacity I don't want to test the flash drive but show its true capacity. I know that I can store up to 1.95GB.
  8. I have added several small wave files in the flash drive until 1.95GB and after that the file started to become corupted so I know now that the true size is 1.95GB. the Dis Mangament shows: 16GB FAT32 healthy But it surely not healthy.
