  1. wouldn't it be funny if thats why he was standing down? just so he could keep an eye on msfn?
  2. i still think he'll have more time.
  3. im not really crazy about programming languages that require more than 100mb full install. its annoying, although it doesnt slow my computer down, so i guess i can't complaing. but sun java is so slow on older computers. my 366 crawls through it. and plus, it doesn't seem to be too stable, almost every java thing that i have used locks up. especially pogo games. god those are terrible, i right click to open a window and BAM it locks my entire IE up to the point i cant even load another page. so... not for me it may be a good language for the programmer, but the end user might have a ton of problems o_O
  4. isn't sleeping great?
  5. he probably does, just came in and asked 1 question then just kinda hides around lol. it wouldn't really surprise me if he does. now that he is leaving MS, then maybe he'll have more time too in the future? he'll need help with his poorly maintained computer
  6. none really, i dont watch movies often anyway. ill watch maybe a movie ever 2 months or so, and even if its good, i dont watch it again.

thats why my parents and i dont buy stuff online. too risky.
  8. you didnt add SD-RAM 133mhz my laptop uses SD100
  9. it really depends on the person. if the teeth are impacted, they can grow funny and cause a lot of problems. in my case, i had 3 impacted and one was growing properly, but it was pushing my teeth forward. i have only 1 crooked tooth. its not all that bad, and its on the bottom lol so you dont see it, plus 15 years or so with it, im just so used to having it. my dad went until he was 36 before he had his wisdom teeth out, he drove home that night and ate pizza and went to work on sunday even after having the gas, he says it had no effect on him. it worked on me though, so that worked out quite nicely. anyway.. im going to get a drink of something, need some water maybe cya for now.
  10. ouch, try to get some kind of drug hehehe its better to get it fixed when your younger though, that way the recovery time is much shorter and you dont have to pay for it when your parents can
  11. Still FAR better than getting your tonsils taken out. Now, THAT sucked (can't eat anything, hurts much more). Had to stop taking pain killers soon after too even if it hurt, as I'd be awake for 5, be given more pain killers, and go right back to sleep. Sleeping 23 1/2 hours a day is a little too much. iv had them out too, i couldnt do very much for a long time. i had strept throat over 10 times in one month, so the doctor said that i would have to get em out.
  12. you have to vote for each thing in the poll i think. i did that to me too the first time i went to vote in it. that is a big drive, i still think my 80gb is huge
  13. heh, the best thing to do is get it done, then just put up with the pain afterwords. it doesn't hurt initially, just a coupla hours later when stuff starts to come back to life lol. but i strongly advise you to get the gas and IV and freezing. it helps. plus the gas makes you feel kool lol oh, and if you can take music with you.
  14. windows me is probably the worst, but i never had any problems with it to be honest. with 98 after the USP and 98se2me and stuff, 98 was pretty **** stable and it ran fine for me too. so, i dont really have a worst os to be honest. i wanted to get server 2003 running on my laptop, but evertime id go to install it, it would give me a blue screen but it runs just fine on my brothers desktop, so its obviously a hardware issue. the most troublesome OS iv ever used, and its not because its bad software i just dont know, would be linux. i had so much trouble getting it set up so i couldn't really use it to its fullest extent. iv tried ubuntu, but its slow as molasses, but ill say it is stable as hell. anyway, right now im using XPSP2/98 dual boot on my laptop and XP Pro SP2 on my desktop and no problems. both computers run great, 98 is fast and stable, XP is a lil slower but much more efficient. now i go eat, im hungry
  15. im starting to have a lot of pain in my jaw now. it hurts to talk really, and the blood that keeps going in my mouth is really grosse now oh well. its done, just gotta heal now.
  16. worked perfect for me! thanks, i was hoping you'd post how to do this lol
  17. put it this way, thank god for system restore.. just had a bad experience with windows updates, after installing windows installer 3.0 or w/e and reboot, i couldn't open any programs.
  18. no problem
  19. so true, makes so much sense to me. when i defrag my drive, i dont notice a difference in speed. i use to defrag the drive on my desktop and laptop regularly before reading this post. but now, everyone has given so many points against doing it and just from my own experience, it make sense now.
  20. everyone has such good ideas, i just wish i could come up with stuff like that. anyway, heres mine for this month. plain as always, but i like the default microsoft ones, except vista glass
  21. I hope it works for v10, too. BTW, I HATE autoit. it looks like you have to change it a little bit. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nico Mak Computing\WinZip\WinIni] "Name1"="your name" "SN1"="your serial" im not 100% sure, but i think thats how you have to change it. change Name and SN to Name1 and SN1. ill keep playing with it to see what it does. edit : just confirmed, thats how you gotta do it, weird, but it worked for me
  22. i had this same problem, but i just remade the cd in nLite from scratch and that worked. maybe i changed something? i dont know. i wasnt using an MSDN copy of XP though, i was using a DELL OEM disc. hopefully someone out there knows whats going on, id like to know what i maybe did wrong, or didnt do.
  23. kartel, thats awsome. my laptop from back in 1999, when it was designed for 98 doesnt even load drivers for anything. the only thing that loads, are the ports, pcmcia and IR. thats it weird, but ok, luckily dell has my drivers for it still anyway, heres some stuff for you to check out on windows 98: Windows 98 Security Guide Windows 98 Ultimate Windows 98 Performance Guide @raskren blu-ray wont be much needed anyway, not if you have an external HDD. The 512mb ram barrier is broken, and theres lots of third part developers to write security updates anyway. plus, it all usually comes down to end users and how they use a computer. the best thing other than having an AV/Malware/Firewall program, is just to be cautious. just letting you know
