I may be wrong, but ive seen LCDs look a heck of a lot better then CRTs. cleartype is crap, it makes text fuzzy. and lcds are much sharper looking. maybe they dont have a wide viewing angle but i normally dont try to use my computer while sitting next to it. (as opposed to sitting in front of it)

Ive formatted sandisk, lexar, belken, and a few others. there is no resion why formatting it would make it unuasable. so, yes, windows will be able to read/write it after the format. and after the linux install, if its not turned to ext2/3

Hey, everyone is allowed to have thier own view. i like 98se, but i also like xp. they are both good systems. it just depends on what you do with them.

alright, ive got xp pro, a 2.4 ghz celeron cpu and 512 mb ram. when im typeing in google, or this post, or anywhere else for that matter, i type a bunch... then it appears alittle bit at a time. or, if im scrolling down a page, it will pause every couple of lines before going on. its not causeing my computer to be unuseable yet, but its highly annoying. any ideas?

Ive yet to fix it, but it seems if you do Fn+F4 (might be diffrent for you) to put it into sleep then again to wake it will make the system resume. ^_^

If this is windows xp, try starting in VGA mode, then as soon as you login change the video settings back and reboot. (nt,2k,2k3) if its windows 98, change the video settings back in safe mode, then reboot. (9x,me) also, avoid haveing the monitor on for long with it flickering, it can damage it.

is it possable to show a icon for the tcp/ip loopback device (127.0.0.1) in the network connections folder?

I have installed windows vista on an Acer Aspire 5670, and every time the lcd powers down, it wont come back on. i know its not frozen because im accessing the internet through it to make this post with another computer. is there something i can do to make the lcd turn back on like its supposed to?

Some cards do, but its pointless to buy a 8x card just to put it in a 4x slot.on a side note, its funny how the OS now uses more resources then our games. xD

Your getting this error from inside windows xp? right click on the folders, click properties, then click the security tab. (must have simple file shareing disabled) add (or edit) permissions so that "everyone" has full access. you then should be able to delete the folders. (you may also have to take ownership of the files, windows should offer to do this automaticly)

external/public ip is everyone on the internet can connect to your computer/network with. internal/private ip is only for people on your network to connect to.

Sounds like driver/hardware problems, not OS problems. and most likely ME isnt going to work better then 98 if your haveing those types of issues.

Computer guru, or xp fanboy? kidding, kidding... Most likely, windows 98 would be faster, but it depends on your hardware. i have to say again though, 98 will usauly be faster because it has less to do in the background.
