  1. thanks the_guy! i'd assume these 2 have not yet been considered in 60810 as basing it on the release date, these 2 were released on Aug 15?
  2. hi! i'd just like to ask if there is anything different with these 2: WindowsXP-KB909095-x86-ENU WindowsXP-KB916846-x86-ENU that might require some changes with our coming test release? sorry but i have not tested these yet as i only read about it today? i'd assume these are not supported yet ... thanks!
  3. now HFSLIP - Test Releases topic is more accessible indeed it deserves to be stickied ... thanks!
  4. hi muchlux! as you can see these are the only supported codecs in MSFN codec2.8 pack: Version 2.8 as for Tain's packs, please see in the 1st page of this thread. GSpot's results are expected as those codecs in question are not included in the pack
  5. ha! ha! thanks Tain ... i'm just trying to give back to others what i got from y'all too ... you're still my source looking forward to the resolution of our ipod concerns ...
  6. there will be version differences mostly in Div-X & X-Vid files, right Tain? he's online now ... btw, GSPot is for testing codecs - it is not a codec ... quicktime is digital video standard developed for Apple Macintosh computers & are also playable in Windows ... realmedia are for files basically played by Real Media Player ....
  7. tain's pack contains technically what you need to be able to play most media files out there ... tain has also created individual packs like quicktime & real in case a user may not want those slipstreamed ... you may find the link in the 1st page of this thread ... MSFN's codec pack, which has a link too found in the 1st page, is great too ... both work well with HFSLIP ... tain's pack(s) go in HFEXPERTS\CODECS (these directories you have to create manually) MSFN's codecs2.8.exe (courtesy of swgreed and Yzowl) may go in: a. HFSVCPACK (if unextracted) b. HFEXPERT\CODECS (if extracted) c. HFAAO (if using the .cab file from RyanVM's site ... although i think this is only ver 2.6) tain's & msfn's codec packs are most compatible with HFSLIP!
  8. the 1st 1 from http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=24978#24978 is Windows Media Player 11 RunOnceEx Addon ... this is a cab file alright but then again this was not what i used ... try it though the 2nd 1 from http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2319 [RELEASE] Boooggy's Windows Media Player 11 Addon is a 7-Zip file (which will not work in HFAAO ) ... if i remember it right it used to be .cab too (but i may be wrong) ... & i saw that you have already posted a request from boooggy's thread good luck!
  9. hi maniaq! let us simplify this a bit ... the HFSLIP way (1) put MP10Setup.exe in either HF or HFSVCPACK_SW (2) put all media player related hotfixes in HF (3) put wmfdist95.exe in HF (4) place Boooggy_WMP11Addon.cab in HFAAO (this folder you have to create manually) as i've said, all works perfectly for me even if boooggy's addon made use of the beta ver (well MS has not released a final yet ) as for DX, Aug2006_xinput_x86.cab is not needed do not integrate via nLite ... if you do then you need to seek nuhi's advise on this ... this AddonWMP10 new.zip is some patch you use via nLite too, right? try also setting CABRecompress to Enabled (Yes)
  10. hi lennierv ... a pretty long post ... perhaps a text file attachment instead moving forward? i suppose your concern is very related to your post before: Drop Shadow Visual Effect, Not working? ... also read Visual Effects still not working?, Is it just me? ...
  11. thanks nuhi! looking forward to the new release

    Bootscreen

thanks XPero! just as i thought ...
  13. that's strange ... do you nLite? could you post again you HFSLIP.LOG during your last run ... please double check too if you are still replacing the base media player (or if you might be removing media player 6 via nLite) ... okay ... i did a little search for you ... read on & try to see if this file will work in HFAAO: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=24978#24978 (this is the .cab ver of boooggy's Windows Media Player 11 RunOnceEx Addon) ... please note ... media player 10 may either be placed in HF or HFSVCPACK_SWjust to share: the file i have been using is this: Boooggy_WMP11Addon.cab ... so maybe you could request from Boooggy the .cab file oh yes include this too ... i missed out in pasting it in my earlier reply ...to add another link you could check out: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2284
  14. alright ... let us know how you make out then ... as for boogy's addon, maybe you could request the .cab from him ... so MS has included that in the Aug DX release
  15. hi! maybe it's just me ... but perhaps we could sticky Test releases as this 1 of the main topics we have & frequently accessed too

    Bootscreen

hi XPero! i use XPize with HFSLIP & i'm posting it here since the topic is about bootscreen ... i actually posted an inquiry in HFSLIP's forum & i'd just like to hear your take on it sir ... to quote There's only one way to slipstream XPize into a source (according to its documentation) and HFSLIP is using that. If there are other ways, you should ask the author (XPero) for more info because they aren't publicly known. thanks!
  17. hi maniaq! i noticed that you have directx_aug2006_redist.exe in HF ... this is not supposed to be the case --- you need to extract this file to a temp folder & you need the following in HFCABS: Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab Apr2006_d3dx9_30_x86.cab Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cab Dec2005_d3dx9_28_x86.cab Feb2005_d3dx9_24_x86.cab Feb2006_d3dx9_29_x86.cab as for wm11 addon, you need this file: Boooggy_WMP11Addon.cab ... HFSLIP does not support .7z files ... you need the .cab file besides it won't really work since you are replacing win media player via HFEXPERT: \hfslip\HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT\MPLAYER2.exe ... i'd suggest too trying it out again with Tain's packs or MSFN's codec pack ... report back again after doing these suggestions & i'm sure you'll hit it this time
  18. hi Glo! this could be pretty straight-forward ... there is a button in nLite prior to finalizing everything: Make ISO (using the other button: Explore - would allow for adding of other contents to the ISO) ... & just leave the default settings ... & since i believe you are using Nero, simply use Nero Express & look for burn image to disk ... browse for that image (created via nLite) & just take the default settings & that's it ... hope it all goes well for you as it does for me (& with the others)
  19. hi TC/TP! my inquiry is boot screen related so i've posted it here ... if XPize is integrated, HFSLIP seems to leave out changing of bootscreen ... otherwise, HFSLIp allows XPIze to change the bootscreen ... as such, would it be possible to allow for the bootscreen to be changed even when slipstreamed? thanks! still interested if HFSLIP will allow for changing of bootscreen via an image we may put in a particular HFSLIP folder? ... changing of icons were made possible in 2K ... why not for XP? ... again, just a wish list ...
  20. hi nuhi! would it be possible for nLite to allow for: (1) in the unattended section, option as to which File System is going to be used (i.e., Format with NTFS, Format with NTFS (quick), Format with FAT32, format with FAT32 (quick)? (2) adding user names (& passwords) ... i think i already requested for this previously (3) changing of boot screen (perhaps an image we can integrate) (3) more components to remove safely thanks!
  21. for the meantime ... i'd suggest that you use the codec packs prepared by Tain or MSFN codec pack ... TP's & Oleg's thread about HFEXPERT\CODECS have been asumed by Tain & of course some updates & modifications have been made ... have tested both Tain's packs & MSFN's pack & XVid & DivX file versions is where the slight difference lies ... i suppose Tain is using the newer vers
  22. actually noticed the same thing when RyanVM's uxtheme addon was integrated ... removing it made the patch tab for unsigned themes support enabled ... some themes actually include it too so there might be some version conflict or something ... but i downloaded medo_sharm's file just the same ... thanks!
  23. thanks SM! but this would not turn the Automatic Updates into gray scale right?
  24. hi! i was wondering if there could be a way to permanently disallow Windows Udpate to automatically download hotfixes (which in previous experience had caused my system to hang & slow-down here in the office my colleagues dread it when updates are being applied automatically as it holds off their work & system just reboots to apply the fixes ... blah .. blah ... blah ...) to my system? i know we could simply turn it off but would it not be better to have it tested 1st before applying it to any system? this may not be directly HFSLIP related but would it be possible through HFSLIP via HFTOOLS or FIX (just like shutting off WGA)? any advise would be greatly appreciated.
