  1. this isn't goodbye to you FDV right? HFSLIP is still going to be mentioned in your site i'm sure ... and certainly too you are going to frequent HFSLIP ...
  2. hi Tain! no harm done on my part sir ... it's okay! he! he! i guess i was just "disillusioned" i could play the files in question ... i used the lastest final as well as the test release before the weekend ... i stopped using other codec packs since HFSLIP's own (tain's way ) has been posted ... oh i'm btw using the pack that still has QT files included ... this would be the file that has about 45-47 files in it ... tests were done w/ the system i claimed was doing great ... he! he! ... i'll run the tests in VM too where i only used the pack with 33 files
  3. hi Tain! i'm sorry for not being able to get back to you the soonest on this ... here are some findings that are kinda embarrassing since i thought the files were playing for me ... this time i used your test files ... i'm not sure though if these are what i need to post (or if i did the right thing in running the gspot tests) ... Applemov/Audio-AAC quicktime Rendering failed: Following is erro reported by DirectShow: 0x80040265: Cannot play back the file. Error: 0x80004002: No such instance ... attached here too is an error screenshot when i used VLC; i added too some text files (which i'm not certain if it would be of any use to the issue) thank you! EDIT: btw, i haven't tried running the tests though w/ the newly uploaded QT files Audio_Known_Compression_Formats.txt Video_Known_Compression_Formats.txt
  4. hi! i've already said this before the site is nice & simple ... and is not heavy when loading
  5. he! he! i thought 'twas .net2 ...
  6. quickest way would be to try to create a new build from a fresh source and see if you'd have the same concerns ... try to refer to this thread too: What Not To Remove For Some Programs
  7. installation process at 13 mins remaining countdown
  8. hi! if i'm not mistaken setting the time zome only works when Default Hide option is set ... another option would be to use your personally customized WINNT.SIF (but nLite's unattended GUI actually functions like 1)
  9. hi TC! i think i'd go for the 1st 1: "while HFSLIP is running" for the ff reasons: (1) some apps require that .NET 2.0' already present before they get installed (?) ... & (2) this is nothing serious but the wait time at T-13 makes it appear (for the uninitiated ) that sys has locked-up indeed HFANSWER.INI is very helpful!
  10. hi! RC is normally installed after the completion of OS's intallation ... however try to read this link as an alternate way of doing it ... HFSLIP handles it at T-13 Ü
  11. indeed they need to be logged in so they can view our forum ... specifically HFSLIP under Other Member Contributed Projects ... HFSLIP doesn't even show up when not logged in
  12. looks like HFSLIP will be made more powerful due to interests ... let's raise the bar looking forward to this ...
  13. still looking forward to this ... i'm certain the masters could figure something out
  14. Camarade Tux, i also encoutner errors (&/or my installation halted) if ASMS compression is enabled. Leaving it by default does not give the error.
  15. ah yeah ... thanks for the correction TC!
  16. i know this is a dumb q ... but what is the difference of an experimental test rel? is it something like a candidate for test release? he! he!
  17. btw, would the instructions still be the same (from FDV's site) ... or would there have been any modification? thanks!
  18. thanks ... i'm getting it now ...
  19. hi Tain! my apologies i have not ben able to do the gspot tests ... i thought i had it but i am going to download 1 again ... but truly, i can play quicktime files ... used VLC, used WMP, & even quicktime ... weird my apologies, i have not ben able to do the gspot tests just yet ... i thought i had it but i am going to download 1 again ... oops, suddenly remember ... i could use the gspot in the very 1st pack posted (in the original thread), right? a little guidance though, how do i exactly run the said test & generate the results? thanks! btw, there are 33 files present in the latest pack, right? yup ... it is good!
  20. isn't FORCEXPIZESLIP already phased out? anyways, Tomalak maybe you could just leave it like mine: XPIZESW=/S /notask FORCEXPIZESVC= FORCEXPIZESLIP=
  21. sorry too sirs! completely my fault for asking ...
  22. hi TP! would this be something like looks like 2xplorer? could you share you reg tweak for this? thanks!
  23. quick Q --- was test release 60712a technically the final 60712?
  24. i suppose! which specific player do you want me to use? will do when i get back over the weekend ... hopefully, g-spot reports favorably for the sake of my claim! ha! ha!
  25. hi tain! what i did was to use the old quicktime files from the 1 you uploaded from the older thread to overwrite the ones in the current file uploaded in this thread ... would that be okay? doing so did not present any prob for me using the test releases & the final release of HFSLIP (even before TC made the adjustments of 8.3 file naming convention) pls advise ... thanks!
