  1. hi! welcome to HFSLIP Phaneendra Rao ... i think TP already answered this Q in this thread ... but just to reiterate ... final versions may be downloaded from the initial page of the thread above OR you may directly get it from the download section of http://hfslip.org ... as for test releases, you may download it from the initial page of this thread
  2. hi Oleg! i must admit that i haven't really tried integrating drivers too (& it is indeed a surprise to know that TP has not done this until recently ) ... is this exclusive for 2K? (could this be done in XP too?) thanks!
  3. it is the real deal ... msfn's homepage already has it posted already ... microsoft.com just has not updated their main page yet
  4. he! he! additional work for TP & TC!
  5. hi! i know not many are fond of WMP ... but 11 has been released: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...11/default.aspx ... although it might just be beta 2 ... haven't read the full details yet just sharing (if anybody is interested ... he! he!)
  6. ey Camarade_Tux! yup ... it varies ... my last attempt got cut at 183kb ...
  7. ey Squeeto! here you are ... just found this while browsing ... i remember the boot screen ... it was the sample you shared with me ... kudos to you!
  8. it would appear like that ... perhaps the usual ... IE concerns? i have ver: 6.0.2900.2180.xp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 ... thanks!
  9. hi Tain! tried it using Firefox & it worked (Howto-_Heavy.html) ... as for IE it doesn't (_Heavy.html) ...
  10. hi! i encountered almost a similar limitation when downloading this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Pr...=89&t=52357 Error Copying File or Folder Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. Same error happens despite several tries in different intervals ... limited to 177kb thanks!

i noticed the same thing too ...
  12. hi! just wanted to add for closure purposes ... FIX: The Windows Media Player process may unexpectedly quit when Internet Explorer is configured to use administrator-approved ActiveX controls was not the culprit ... removing all WMP HFs resulted to the same concern ...
  13. yup more power to HFSLIP! more power to our forum!
  14. any update on the packs ... say iPod files, QT & real player?
  15. thanks TC! i will follow as directed ... in some other runs though i have already removed all Sep & Oct HFs + WMP HFs too + gdidetool (although i have not removed SFC_OS.DL_ yet) & still the result was the same ... what puzzles me is this used to work with earlier versions! so what stumps me really is how come it does not anymore ... what's even sadder is i won't be able to do some tests for the time being as my temporary resolution to my PC prob has lapsed (i just actually borrowed my sister's processor but she already took it back ) ... i hate it when i cannot report results to you guys ...
  16. ha! ha! due to the HFs! if i recall it right, there was already someone who requested to kindly include those hotfixes that are no longer needed/superceded & by which hotfix overwrites it ... (even the older ones) thanks!
  17. hi the_guy! i know it has been requested already before but would it be okay if all those replaced HFs by which HFs be included here (even those for WMP)? it would truly be helpful to prevent slipstreaming unnecessary HFs in HF directory. thanks a lot!
  18. thanks for this Tain & TC! hi everyone! it's not a surprise to find out that upon gettign back there is already a final ... not that i wasn't expecting it! it's great to have a new final again! however, much as i would like to share everyone's success in their builds, i was not successful in any attempts using even 61020a ... tried the following trial & error: (1) took out most, if not all, in HFSVCPACK, (2) took out all WMP10 HFs (3) removed from the equation Sep & Oct HFs (4) removed some addons from HFAAO (5) tried using XP Pro Gold & XP Pro SP1 as sources --- the results were the same (1) not setting DELCATS = 1 causes installation to be stuck at T-39 (2) RC is stuck at T-13 while Checking for disk space ... no other option but to cancel (this is despite waiting for it for hours) (3) at some point, it gets stuck at T-1, thus installation does not complete --- when successful (if installation succeeds) (4) media player quits when being launched ... it begins with Upgrading database ... shows briefly ... and then quits (5) launching windows explorer or even my computer ... just does nothing ... window refreshes (as taskbar goes away & then comes back) & still explorer is not launched please note there was no copying issue at all while still in text mode ... ah ... it was truly frustrating for me ... i'm sorry! the last build that was successful for me was still way back Aug ... 60810 & using some other test releases after it ... all in Aug ... only thing positive on these runs was no duplicate files present anymore when running dumpdupes ... i have attached some files that might shed clue to my predicament ... any feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks! attempt.7z no_sep_oct_hfs.7z
  19. hi the_guy! could this: FIX: The Windows Media Player process may unexpectedly quit when Internet Explorer is configured to use administrator-approved ActiveX controls cause wmp10 or even wmp11 to just be up for a few seconds & close rightaway? been having this issue & have raised it to TC too in the test release thread? TC, could this be? i'll try to remove this in 1 of my tests ... your advise would be highly appreciated! thanks!
  20. thanks again TC! i will experiment on my builds again ... removing HFs that i recently added including those from the_guys list ... (no offense meant sir ) ... i think i got more or less 5 of those which i didn't have before that i downloaded ... i have 2 optical drives in my setup now ... H & I ... while J is a virtual drive ... really hope it'd be good builds to report when i get back ...
  21. hi nuhi! trying out 1.2 RC does not allow me to put different (or none for others) organization/company names ... meaning if there is 1 in Admin, all the rest has this though ... by the same circumstance, if there is nothing specified in Admin's org/co. name, there is nothing too for the others ... thanks! btw, i do not if it's me but RC 1.2 runs faster time
  22. thanks for the quick one TC! as always ... he! he! removing everything from HFSVCPACK folder is what i intend to do next ... after that though taxing ... & if free time would permit ... i would take out Oct HFs, then Sep HFs ... i'm guessing there might be 1 or some HFs causing this ... i believe though that nothing was touched in the RC code ... i'm just puzzled why during that time ... correct me please if i am mistaken but RC installation comes before installation of those in HFSVCPACK so could any of those be the culprit? how about WMP10 (even WMP11 addon)? why do they just show for a few seconds & quit? i'll report back in perhaps in a couple of days as i'm going to be on offs ... but should there be a new final already by the time i get back it's fine! i guess it's about time too to have a new final that serves all! i hope i will get this right somehow so i could report something nice already btw, are we going to integrate ie7? enjoy the weekend everybody!
  23. thanks TC for the consideration ... although benefits are for the addon users, you & TP going to the lengths of modifying HFSLIP code to be able to support 1 is really more than enough support ... i'm killing myself for saying this but it is not necessary in my opinion ... really thanks! i created builds using 61017b & i present my observations: (1) RC is still stuck when checking for disc space (this happens at T-13) ... no other option but to cancel it ... else installation of OS would not push through ... could there be some updates for Sep & Oct that might have affected RC installation? please correct me if i am mistaken --- before installing RC at T-13, SP2 has already been slipstreamed, right? (but perhaps this has nothing to do with being stuck checking for disc space ) (2) removed booogy's WMP11 addon & used only WMP10 ... still the same result ... when launching it in GUI, it only shows for a few seconds & quits (add/remove programs show it as installed) ... again, i'm thinking there could be hotfix(es) that might have affected this (3) running dumpdudes.cmd still showed 3 files in exclude.txt (although i've seen there's already a newer ver of DBLBINXP.EXT RJARRRPCGP ... thanks! for these recent runs, i only limited use of HFCLEANUP to using DBLBINXP.EXT if it'd be of any help, i've attached some files for your review it frustrates me not to be able to report as well as the others ... if i recall it correctly, my last successful runs were still in Aug ... before my computer was plagued thanks! 61017b.7z
