hi Oleg! it's nice to see a pioneer back! there have been some changes since you've been gone & a lot of new faces too ... like me! your contribution to HFSLIP would certainly be appreciated ... TC/TP, my apologies ... still don't have my PC up ... seems that i need a new 1 ... i REALLY miss running the tests & posting results ... oh btw, which additional .msis are supported now? i remember there were quite a few ...
-
the list maintained by the_guy in 1 of the stickied post contains hotfixes that were replaced or superceded by a newer ones ... he always updates this
-
hi! your attachment doesn't seem to contain anything ... but putting mp10 in HF has always worked for me ... i just am not sure if the new test releases support this still but have you tried moving it to HFSVCPACK_SW to see how it affects your build?
-
yup ... check all those stickied topics which includes "HFSLIP - Test releases" ... enjoy

hi TP & TC & everybody! my apologies if i haven't been around lately to do some tests ... believe me i miss posting too ... however i underwent a lot of things lately (i.e., i was down for a week since i was sick but had relapse & was down for another week ... my pc broke down recently where i might have to change power supply, heatsink fan & video card ... & lastly Manila was hit by a strong typhoon that rendered the country without electricity until today ... he! he! tough luck!) ... as soon as i can ... i would be back to the vice of doing tests for XP SP2 ... cheers to all!

hi ggg! welcome to HFSLIP! try checking on this link: http://users.telenet.be/tc76/winup/_winxp.html

hi! anything about my earlier inquiry? any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
-
thanks Yzöwl ... just as i thought so as this was never the case before ... it only crossed my mind to ask though as i remember some issue way back about using lower case & upper case (but not specifically for XPize)
-
hi all! i tried this link as suggested by jftuga ... everything went on smoothly & i even created an ISO ... but when i tried installing it & checked on Help ... About - it didn't show as SP2 ... attached are a couple of screenshots: 1 from another machine where i installed SP2 separately while the other where i used the slipstreamed SP2 ... any suggestion? thanks!

it'a alright now TC ... i'm sorry for the bother ... have already figured that i used imcompatible HF meant for SP1 (as pointed out by the_guy) ... totally a bad oversight on my part ... as for the add-ons i believe conflict lies between XPize45 & Vista Icon pack as they more or less do the same thing ... thanks! quick question: would there be any difference in treating files that we place in HF --- if in lower case or in upper case or a combo (i.e., XPize)?
-
i'm sure HFSLIP will make allowance to support WMP11 ... as it stands now, cabbed addons - beta versions - are supported via HFAAO

hi whitehorses! hi Tain! i'm sorry if i was bit out of the loop recently to answer some of whitehorse's queries ... i was out for a vacation & just got hit by flu ... anyways, whitehorse it's nice that you adore the forum ... specifically HFSLIP ... & definitely you got some good answers from the moderator himself - Tain! ... as already mentioned, not all codecs get updated regularly, only a few do recently (specifically XVid & DivX) ... as for windows media player codecs, this is what you can use: , you may read further here ... you have to extract the needed file & put it in HF for slipstreaming ... to add you may use either Tain's pack or Yzowl's mod/MSFN Codec Pack ... all may be found in the 1st page of this topic

thanks Squeeto & heisking ... i'll try the 1st bmp then ... opening XP ntoskrnl.exe using reshacker though shows 5th bmp as the regular XP boot screen ... i'll update you guys when i'm done

hi! been gone for quite a while ... anyways, i hope it is not yet late too report that 60819a support for 7z add-ons works fine ... i only encountered some Confirm File Replace prompts (for media files: qasf.dl_, wmadmod.dl_, wmsdmod.dl_, wmspdmod.dl_, wmvdmod.dl_) ... which i think has something to do with either the codecs or with the wmp11 addon ... aside from these, the rest is flawless ... show here though that 60901 is out thanks!

scanning only takes about less than a minute ... a couple of minutes is actually too much already ...
-
hi soggy! i'm not sure if i understood this correctly but in the unattended section of nLite you should be able to put in the cd key for your OS so you could actually skip this part (even EULA ... there are more) so try to work yourself through it ... have fun using nLite!

thanks for the reply! i'm wondering if i have other add-ons to slipstream --- like themes that have patched uxtheme.dll in the package (& every theme pack contains uxthemes) --- would this not be in conflict with what is already contained in xpize? would there not be conflicts having different uxthemes? you see i always use xpize but recently i also used rytukz_Vista_Icons_Pack_Ultimate_System_Patch_addon_1.1.cab & i noticed they negate each other in such a way that either 1 causes some apps (& their shortcuts) not be installed correctly ... tried it several times with the same results ... but when 1 is not present, there is no prob ... i may be wrong in this assumption but you may correct me on this one sir! thanks!
-
hi squeeto & others! i tried using reshacker to change the 5th bitmap (640x480x16) in ntoskrnel.exe & cabbed it (MAKECAB /D CompressionMemory=21 /D CompressionType=LZX ntoskrnl.exe) but when i placed it in FIX ... nothing changed is there something wrong with what i did? could this work in XP? would there be anything else aside from bitmap 5 that needs to be changed? thanks!
-
thanks the_guy! i kinda realized that a little late ... that was after i used my weekends creating the build & recreating the issues & the filename should say so ... he! he!
-
hi xpero! i'd like to know if the uxtheme patcher in 45 would not require for any uxtheme.dl_ anymore? would there be conflict should there be patched uxtheme (s) present in various themes addons? thanks!
-
yes TC! any will do ... pdf would be nice ... thanks!

hi all! i just want to share this update breaks my install .... errors are about: shlwapi.dll ... i extracted the contents of IE6.0sp1-KB918899-Windows-2000-XP-v2-x86-ENU.exe & found out that shlwapi.dll exists ... attached are some screenshots ... without it, installation goes thru ... i'm not definite if i was able to put back the older version in my last run before leaving home but i suppose the older version would not present the same prob (as it worked in older builds) ... thanks! EDIT: there are actually different succeeding errors & this is the very 1st screen:

hi! reporting back to share results of several runs i did over the weekend ... i actually thought about the following possibilities for the issues i've encountered: (1) conflict in UXTHEME.dl_ contained in various themes addons & with that of XPize (well, XPize contains an executable for this) ... (2) probable changes made in XPize45.exe ... (3) file versions in new MS-updates released after 60810 ... as for the old versions i didn't encounter those i was able to burn cds with good ISOs using the very same files (except for those i added recently) ... i think there is a new update that breaks my install (specifically IE6.0sp1-KB918899-Windows-2000-XP-v2-x86-ENU.exe) ... attached are some logs & files ... i'll start a new thread for this HF so i could attach some pics too ... EDIT: problems with shortcuts for other add-ons (for missing shirtcuts &/or install) are not related to the recent oversight that the_guy pointed out files___logs.7z

hi all! sorry for bothering y'all with my recent posts ... today i am going to post that i have already resolved my concerns ... just to share so if somebody might encounter the same issues, then this could serve as a preventive measure ... i believe the cause was some conflicts in how add-ons were created ... i guess there is a conflict with rytukz_Vista_Icons_Pack_Ultimate_System_Patch_addon_1.1.cab & XPize45 as these both replace system files ... i also modified my HFANSWER.ini ... lesson learned for me regarding add-ons ... finally i can rest easy for the weekend ... thanks! yup TC ... i'm even having problems with themes ... even when using a patched UXTHEME.dl_
