those are contributions from different HFCLEANUP gurus --- fdv, tommyp, gosh ... to name a few ... technically it is more geared towards 2K ... but amy work with XP too as per the resource(s) we all might have read ... "your mileage may vary" i too am for doing everything the HFSLIP way but if you want to reduce your source via a GUI,

he! he! thanks Tain, TC & TP! ... i can wait
-
sirs, please advise me on this one ... would there be any other way than renaming it? i can compress via MAKECAB (as taught by TC ) but doing the reverse is something else ... thanks! as always ... thanks! already got the new test release
-
thanks for the quick reply ... (just like Germany's bid for WC 2006 ) here you go TC: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2319 ... well anyway, it's beta after all as for the other, i'll check

oops ... so those extensions are not related to quicktime? thanks!

NP TC! i think i prefer not having the shortcuts anymore so my start menu doesn't get that much cluttered ... ... the only prob here is that XPize bootup screen doesn't show anymore when slipstreamed ... as for WMPreg.inf ... if this is re media player ... i could only guess it's the WMP11 (beta) add-on ... but so far it (WMP11) works great for me ...posted new headaches for you TC! ... sorry!

hi! i'm getting intermittent JIT debugger issues when using the final ver ... here are the screenshots (my apologies but i used .gif so it's not that clear ) (nLite1.gif) No registered JIT debugger was specified (nLite2.gif) Application has generated an exception that could not be handled these are the things i did to see if i could circumvent the issues: (1) uninstalled the app (2) removed all remaining entries from the registry (3) reinstalled the app (4) reinstalled a fresh copy of XP in a different partition (5) worked w/ a fresh source RC8 didn't give me the same concerns ... i think the final ver is more strict in terms of using a fresh source ... that is not adding &/or removing folders yet until getting to the portion where explore/browse is an option prior to ISO creation ... if i did, nLite quits on me ... thanks!

hi Tain!i just like to report the following: (1) just like what's in the readme ... problems w/ quicktime during dos copy mode were apparent using 60630a ... i think the workaround for this is to copy over the old files from the older package (posted in the http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=57649) ... & overwrite the files that were older ... doing so didn't present the DOS copy errors (or i would just like to believe so ;o) (2) i noticed that from the previous pack (not the 1 w/ the .rar errors) there were 47 files as compared to the current's 45 files (less the control panel extensions) (3) i may be wrong but i think the pack worked better with the final rel: 60628 oh ... & yes, i'd just like to say that it was a good thing i kep the older packs ... thanks!

hi sirs! these are what i have for 60630a ... pls see attachments ... i'm having concerns again about the ff: (1) kbdbhc.dll not being found in the right location (just like before) that i still have to point it to i386 (2) RC is not being installed - DOSNET.inf has syntax error as per the pop-up ... & my only option is to cancel ... thus resulting to: "Cannot complete the Windows XP setup wizard" (3) still placing SFCFILES.dl_ in fix results to setup being stuck at T-39 mins ... placing it (SFCFILES.dll) to in APPREPLACEMENT as suggested by Camarade_Tux results to installation ebing stuck at T-9 mins ... incidentally, how do i uncompress SFCFILES.dl_ to become SFCFILES.dll? ... what i did was to just rename the file extension to .dll (4) dos text copy mode has probs w/ the codecs (i'll be posting the same to Tain's thread) though i think i figured a workaround ... i'll post a new msg as apparently my other attachments are not being taken ... thanks! though i noticed there is already a new test rel ... have already downloaded it ... btw, just to share ... i think i didn't get the same issues with 60628 ...
-
no fuss here Tain! already got the new file ... can i now safely delete the 2 previous .rar files that were uploaded in the old thread? thanks!
-
wow ... new test release ...
-
hi! was supposed to report the same ... Getting these: CODECS.rar: Unexpected end of archive CODECS.rar: CRC failed in Quick Time.qts.. The file is corrupt. why are there less files (29) now in the pack as compared to the 47 before? btw, i couldn't seem to attach pic files here even if size of files were just minimal ... thanks! EDIT: seemed that my post just echoed TC's
-
Tain ... yup ... I recall seeing this ... and it's really nice to see that you now have time for this & it has been realized finally ... lauds are in order!!! been looking forward to this ... especially your to include list i'll get right on testing the packs so that you can remove the Red Disclaimer on top

have 1 question ... why the need to remove HFSLIP in there? curiosity perhaps?
-
he! he! & perhaps thereason for officially going public with this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921914 well not that it is not everywhere in the web anyway ...

hi! i was just wondering if this "updated" update http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms06-025.mspx is already taken cared of in our previous test releases, or even in our final version? thanks!

hi! i was just wondering if this "updated" update http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms06-025.mspx is already taken cared of in our previous test releases, or even in our final version? thanks! EDIT: my apologies ... might have posted this incorrectly ... i'll be posting this concern in 2K/XP/2K3 updates
-
thanks for this Tain! what happens to this thread now: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=57649 ? will this still be updated or anything of codec concern be coursed through this thread moving forward?
-
thanks heisking! this issue is already resolved ... thanks to TC ... he pmd me & we have a secret! he! he!
-
hi! that is a very good indication that HFSLIP did its job! i tried removing it once (in VMWare though) but nothing negative happened ... still the same i guess ... i will re-check again ... but i'm sure by the time i do, there would already be replies to your inquiry

if for creating your builds ... have you encountered in your search - burn4free? how about alcohol?
-
my bad turbines ... 165 is a very decent source i completely agree with Camarade_Tux here ... seeing that the add-ons we use are compressed, once installed (i.e., Java & .Net) eat a lot of space ... verifying from my Add/Remove programs --- hundreds of mbs are allocated for these ...but the swollen installation still does not compute ... i'd assume that as far as compression is concerned you did the same with the previous builds ...
