There is a Facebook page too. Personally I would prefer that if we go that route. I have always kept well clear of Twitter, never had an account, but I am active on Facebook.

I don't think that 'fix' by xper, which was just removing a news page which had been hacked and had spam inserted into it, had anything to do with the outage. In fact during the outage the news pages were still online, it was only the forum pages which were inaccessible.

The subsequent discussion about alternatives to the deceased RyanVM forum for discussion if MSFN goes offline move to here.

That would seem like a good fit. I'm not talking about us continuing all our thread conversations there, all we need is a thread, probably in their 'Chit Chat' section, where we can discuss the status of the MSFN forum as a whole. As long as they don't object to us discussing what they would probably consider to be a 'rival forum' there of course!

I don't think we should use a board that's specific to any operating system. There is still an active XP forum of course! Another general PC system support forum would be best, assuming that MSFN isn't now the last one standing!

RyanVM has indeed gone I'm afraid. We will need to find somewhere else to stay in contact if there are problems with MSFN in the future. Anyone any suggestions? Preferably not company forums.

OK, back from my holiday, I can't find where I got it from, but here's my launcher program folder. It doesn't actually need installation, just unzip it to a folder and run it. I've removed all my data. Cheers, Dave. Launcher.zip

I had a PM from xper saying he'd fixed it. I guess that was how he fixed it!

As its window title says, the program is just called 'Run'. It's 16 bit, so I can't use it on Windows 10, but I do use it on 98 and XP. Sorry I haven't got a link to it, and I'm away from my main PC at the moment on holiday, but when I get back home next Sunday evening I will try to find the installer for you!

This is what's in the console after the crash.

Still no joy. It seems to be crashing at test 365. I then get a quick flash (this is a grab from a video I made of it!) of this error message - It then resets to the start page.

The same. "Page is restored for something lost" error message and resets to the start. It might be my ancient ATI graphics card falling over, I will try with the other one!

I used https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/. I will try 2.1.

I tried my new install of 2036 on Speedometer, and it crashes every time at test 377 or thereabouts, and restores back to the start. I actually do think it feels generally faster than the previous version.

The only volume control with this configuration is by using WAVEOUT.EXE, which should be in your Windows folder. The normal Windows mixer facilities are not available.

If it's a private upload on a hosting site such as Mega or Dropbox it's probably OK. However if it's on a download site that contains warez it certainly isn't! PM me the link and I will check it out.
