  1. Ummmm... look at the bottom of the modem? Call the ISP? Just a couple of hints... nitroshift

  3. Comodo Dragon, a Chrome-based browser developped by the Comodo team. ALWAYS running it in incognito mode for facebook, as this so-called social network tends to keep track of your cookies even after you log out. For day-to-day browsing though, MSIE 9 is quite okay for me as I don't visit too many sites anyway. nitroshift PS. Although I'm on Win 7, I'm pretty sure Comodo runs on XP too.
  4. Installed in in a VM, deleted the VM within 5 minutes. I just don't get this Metro hype Microsoft is trying to push on us. I'm using a PC, not a magnified tablet! And there are many, MANY other things I could complain about, but CoffeeFiend already summed them up pretty well. I am going to be using Windows 7 that actually DOES THE JOB, both at work and at home until the next Windows will come up (IF it will ever come up before Microsoft will leave the scene). nitroshift
  5. As previously stated, heatsinks on low end cards may sometimes be poorly attached. I would get some thermal grease, remove the heatsink, clean the old thermal paste, apply the new one and make sure the heatsink seats properly on the GPU. nitroshift
  6. Try extracting the files manually from the package and do a manual install (via Device Manager). nitroshift
  7. Moved to the appropriate place. nitroshift
  8. Set your homepage to google and it will be gone. nitroshift
  9. Shut down the laptop, insert the card then power up the laptop. Does it work properly now? nitroshift
  10. Yes, overheating DOES slow your computer down to a halt. nitroshift
  11. What version of messenger are you using? We are talking about Yahoo! messenger, right? nitroshift
  12. Most likely the router didn't cope with the amount of data being transferred. A power cycle as 5eraph suggested solves the mistery. nitroshift
  13. You can integrate Intel SATA drivers in Windows XP installation disk with nLite. And yes, you can do that on your Windows 7 laptop. nitroshift
  14. Did you install the chipset latest driver from here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Chipset+Software+Installation+Utility&ProdId=816&LineId=1090&FamilyId=40 ?
  15. And let me add Spybot Search and Destroy.O2 URL redirection and O18 entries seem dodgy to say the least...
  16. Hello and welcome to THE forums! nitroshift
  17. Invested 0.99 USD in one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antistatic_wrist_strap . It's a bit uncomfortable at times, but I never fear of damaging any sensitive components. nitroshift
  18. Here's another vote for Teamviewer. nitroshift
  19. Hello and welcome to THE forums! I have deleted the other 5 topics that you created on the same subject. In the future please take some time to read our rules and refrain from starting multiple topics on the same subject. Now, onto your issue: you can create a batch file and shortcut it to the StartUp folder of your profile. nitroshift
  20. Try adding the downloads folder to the safe zone in Office.
  21. AFAIK Win98 didn't have such a thing as TrustedInstaller, it was introduced in Vista (am I correct here?), so I'm pretty sure it's a bug in the driver installation procedure code which makes it look for a CD only. nitroshift

    3D TV

Thanks, Tain! Being passive, glasses are very light, no incovenience at all. But the 3D feel is outstanding. Watching National Geographic in HD and using the TV's built-in 2D to 3D conversion makes me feel sometimes part of the action But first evening I got the TV I decided to watch Ice Age 3 and right in the beginning where the mammoth slides with the turtle shell full of water and drops it made me knock my head against the bed. 5 minutes of swearing and cursing and leson learned: have all the pillows around my head
  23. Definitely try it. If this fails too, uncompress all the files and burn them onto a CD. nitroshift
